Coffee Shop
Rick is helping Lauren out in the Coffee Shop when Craig Slater comes in - he's got an audition for Oliver and is very excited. He reckons he's destined for great things!
School
Brad catches up with Ally in the locker room and asks gently why she didn't tell him she was only fourteen. Brad reckons she's a great girl and he enjoyed spending time with her - but it wouldn't be fair on her to keep seeing him, she'd miss out on too many teenager things.
BRAD: You should enjoy being fourteen. It won't last forever.
Park
Doug is skulking about for the third day in a row. He bumps into an old mate of his who is also out of work. His mate says he's building sets for a theatre group and suggests that Doug comes along to help - there's no money in it, but it's something to keep him active.

Lauren is watching telly rather despondently when Lou comes in reading a brochure for a night-school. He suggests that Lauren has a look at it but she isn't too keen.
Willises
Pam shows Brad her painting - it's of Brad surfing! Brad thinks it's a bit rubbish as the bloke isn't standing on the board properly(!)
Brad makes himself, Gaby, Pam and Helen a cup of tea and tells Gaby quietly about Ally's age. Also that he's had another blue with Beth. Gaby tells him to go and apologise to Beth.
Ramsay Street
Beth is telling Wayne that she thought she and Brad might be able to make things up, but now she's not so sure.
BETH: There's got to be some guy out there for me!
WAYNE: Maybe even me.
He goes to kiss her and Brad, who has just come out of his house, sees. Beth pushes Wayne away and walks off, crossly.
Coffee Shop
Lauren invites Rick out to a movie tonight. He can't, but fills Lauren in on the goss about Brad and the fourteen year old. Lauren resolves to go round and see Brad, but Gaby overhears this and tells Lauren to stay away from Brad - she's done enough damage.
Willises
Brad tells Pam that he's split up with his girlfriend, and is eating to drown his sorrows(!)
Helen tries to be tactful about Pam's painting but it's very difficult as Helen clearly thinks it's rubbish! Pam ends up giving the painting to Helen as a present!

Beth has come to apologise to Wayne. Wayne tells her that she needs to sort out her feelings for Brad once and for all. But they are interrupted by Helen so Beth makes a sharp exit.
Helen shows Wayne Pam's painting - he isn't impressed either!
Coffee Shop
Craig is back from his audition and enthuses to Rick that it went very well. Rick is fed up of Craig's boasting.
Willises
Gaby is cooking dinner. Pam pumps her for information about Brad's break-up but Gaby isn't spilling anything.
Pam rings Doug on the number he left for his "work" and is surprised that it's wrong.
Coffee Shop
Doug and Lou are having a sandwich. Lou is worried about Lauren being lonely. Doug is worried about Pam finding out that he hasn't got a job after all. Doug has been at the theatre group and saw Craig auditioning, and not very well. Rick is very interested to overhear this!
Willises
Pam is trying to get hold of a number for Doug from the Yellow Pages. She finally gets one for the company Doug said he was working for, but of course, Doug isn't there. Pam is not impressed.

Lauren is looking very fed up while Rick bangs on about Craig's boasting. Rick suggests that Lauren comes out with him tonight and she agrees at first, but pulls out when she realises it's a boys' night out.
No.26
A bloke is round having a look at Helen's paintings for an exhibition. He sees Pam's painting and thinks it's extremely good(!) He tells Helen to bring it to the exhibition!
Willises
Pam is seething quietly about Doug's deception. When he comes in, Pam immediately tackles him.
PAM: Why are you lying to me?
DOUG: Because you're running yourself ragged. And ill. And I was worried about you.
PAM: All the same...
DOUG: All the same, nothing. You had to get better. Not fret about money all the time...I had to do something. Because I love you.
(long pause)
PAM: Yeah. That's what I thought!
She hugs him.

Lauren is on the phone to her mum but she doesn't have time to talk to her. Lou suggests that he takes Lauren out, but she doesn't want to. When Lou has gone, Lauren sits down for a cry.
