Number 28
Beth tells Pam and Doug that she loves Brad and she can't walk out on him now. Pam hugs her, saying she's very sensible and she knows Brad will be thrilled. Doug does not look convinced.
Sydney
The Japanese businessmen are impressed with Wayne and Troy's cattle. They talk about how they give their cattle beer back in Japan. Troy had never heard of such a thing.
Number 28
Doug asks Brad if he's seen Beth yet, as she wants to patch things up. Brad doesn't take it well, and wonders why Beth sent the ring back. Doug says that was Bunny. Brad thinks it's awkward as he and Lauren are about to make a go of things. Doug tells Brad to make up his mind, Beth or Lauren. Brad doesn't want Beth to think that he ran to Lauren as soon as they broke up. Doug tells him to set them both straight, as until he does he's being unfair to both of them.
Number 24
Phoebe tells Beth about Russell harassing her. Beth thinks he sounds like a total nutcase. The police have told her and Stephen to stop harassing Russell! Phoebe won't go back home until he's out of the place. Lauren arrives and behaves awkwardly around Beth. Beth tells her she wants to work things out with Brad. Beth will be staying here for a couple of days until she can find somewhere else to live, but she'd like to be friends with Lauren. Lauren says sure. As Beth and Phoebe start talking about Russell again, Lauren looks uneasy.
Number 30
Russell turns off the TV that Stephen was watching and asks what's for dinner.
STEPHEN: You can starve as far as I'm concerned.
Stephen turns the TV back on. Russell says he's stocked up on plenty of food. He could lock himself in his room and survive for a month. Russell turns off the TV again, so Stephen gets up angrily. Russell reminds Stephen about the police warning. Stephen calmly sits down. Russell tells Stephen he's not a good host since he isn't offering him a meal, he should look after him, after all he is part of the family. Russell turns the TV back on.
Sydney
Benito panics, asking Gaby where Wayne and Troy are. He's worried the businessmen will think they've been kidnapped by a couple of madmen. Gaby finds a note on one of the fences saying 'gone to the pub.' Benito is annoyed that they'll now have to check every pub in Sydney. Gaby is sure they'll find them.
Number 28
Pam is pleased to see Brad home and that he knows about Beth. Brad doesn't seem happy though, Pam thought Brad would be over the moon about Beth. Beth arrives so Doug and Pam make themselves scarce. Beth apologises to Brad for the way she took off. She knows she did the wrong thing, she should have stayed here and sorted it all out. She starts to explain about the engagement ring but Brad knows it was her mum that sent it back. Beth asks if he's glad to see her and he says he is.
BETH: I did a lot of thinking while I was up at mums, and all this stuff with you and Lauren it really hurt me. It would have been awful if you only married me because you thought you had to. And you were in love with her, but you told me it was over and I should have believed you. I have to learn to trust you more.
BRAD: No it's cool, it was my fault.
BETH: So can we start again?
BRAD: Well I don't know if it's that easy.
BETH: What's the problem? Do you feel different now? Don't you love me anymore?
BRAD: Well if we weren't sure about getting married the first time round, don't you think we should take some time to find out why?
Beth says she's done her thinking but if he needs time he should take all the time he wants. She hopes it will be alright. She tells him she loves him.
Number 30 Porch
Stephen and Phoebe are preparing to switch off the electricity in the house to get back at Russell. Phoebe isn't sure about it as the police told them not to upset Russell. Stephen isn't scared of him now that she and Hope are safely at Lou's. Stephen switches it off, saying he pays for it and he has the right to turn it off. He'll do whatever it takes to get rid of Russell. He puts a padlock on the fuse box so Russell can't get in.
Number 28
Pam comes into the living room to find Beth sitting alone on the couch. Brad's putting some surfboards into the garage. Beth thinks he wanted to get away from her, she thinks he's still mad at her for running away at the wedding. She thought he'd be pleased she came back. Pam says he was miserable when she was gone. Beth tells Pam about Brad not wanting for them to rush back together. Beth feels lousy but she didn't mean to hurt him. Pam is sure it will all work out. Beth asks if he's still seeing Lauren. Pam says no, even Brad isn't that big a fool and Pam is sure she would have heard if something was going on. Beth wonders why Brad is being so cold to her. Pam says once Brad works this through he'll still want to marry her.
Number 30 Porch
Russell cuts off the padlock with a large pair of bolt cutters and switches the electricity back on.
Number 24
Stephen, Phoebe and Hope are cuddling on the sofa talking about how lucky they are except for not having a home to go to. Stephen and Phoebe pash on the sofa when they hear music from across the street, it's from Stephen's new CD. They look out the window and see all the lights on.
Number 28
Pam is struggling to hear her phone call over the noise as she writes a message on a notepad. Doug wonders what the hell they're doing next door, having a party? Pam tells Doug that was Bill Hawkins on the phone, and he's prepared to take over Beth's apprenticeship. Pam wonders why Doug's trying to foist her onto somebody else, doesn't he want her and Brad back together. Doug says it might be awkward her working for him if she and Brad don't get back together. Pam asks if something is going on, is Lauren back in the picture? Doug shrugs.
PAM: Well if she isn't, I think Brad and Beth belong together and I will do everything in my power to see that it happens.
DOUG: Look I don't reckon we should get involved.
PAM: Maybe for once Brad needs a bit of a push.
DOUG: Well you're always telling me not to interfere now I'm telling you. Let them do it, keep out of it.
PAM: Maybe I should.
DOUG: Damn right you should because you won't be here.
PAM: What?
DOUG: We're going away for a few days, I've booked a resort up north.
Doug says he's booked it for their anniversary, and the holiday will be his gift. Pam wonders if the kids need them here but Doug thinks they'll get on better without them.
Sydney Pub
Benito and Gaby arrive to see Wayne, Troy and the businessmen singing karaoke together. Gaby and Benito both look mortified.
Sydney Hotel
Wayne says the businessmen had a good time. Gaby says they were drunk and in the morning they'll be blaming him. Benito thinks he'll be the one who is blamed.
BENITO: All that strict protocol. They'll be appalled to find out they were undignified, it's loss of face and loss of face for them means loss of job for Benito!
Cathy rolls her eyes. Gaby doesn't know why Wayne carries on like that when he's with his brother, he becomes as big a maniac as Troy is. Benito calls Wayne and his brother completely irresponsible. Wayne starts laughing.
The Coffee Shop
Doug asks Brad how his surf was. Doug tells him that Pam has her heart set on Brad and Beth working things out. Doug says sneaking around with Lauren will only make matters worse, he advises Brad to tell Beth the truth. Doug says it's hard but it has to be done.
Number 24
Beth is looking for a flat but she can't get anything that starts immediately. Lauren says hi as she walks in and heads towards her room. Beth tells Lauren they can't keep avoiding each other and invites Lauren to have a coffee with her. She says she's struggling to get a flat that she can afford on her own.
LAUREN: I wish you didn't feel like you have to move out.
BETH: Well there isn't much choice under the circumstances.
The Coffee Shop
Stephen and Phoebe bring Doug and Brad their breakfast. Doug complains about the noise last night and they explain that they weren't home, it was Russell. They tell them that they have to wait for the eviction notice to come through before they can throw Russell out. Doug thinks they can speed things up, they'll heavy him a bit so he gets the message. Doug says they should leave it to him, Russell sounds like a bully and bullies usually can't stand being bullied back. Stephen thanks Doug.
Sydney Office
Benito greets the businessmen who are in high spirits and were very grateful to meet Wayne and Troy. They thank Benito for introducing them and they enjoyed themselves. Benito is surprised and checks that they won't dismiss him from his job. They assure him they won't.
MR TAKAHASHI: One suggestion.
BENITO: Sure.
MR TAKAHASHI: What does Troy say? Oh yes. Lighten up, man!
Benito starts laughing.
The Coffee Shop
Brad says to Lauren that he told Beth it was over... more or less. He's not sure she took it in. Lauren says it's so awkward talking to Beth, she feels so guilty. She hates sneaking around behind people's backs. Brad asks if she wants to stop seeing him but she assures him she doesn't. They think they should see it through. They kiss each other. Lauren asks if Brad is sure Beth understands it's over between them. Brad says yeah.
Ramsay Street
Russell leaves Number 30 when Doug arrives with Stephen and Phoebe. They threaten Russell to pack his bags and get out, otherwise things will get very unpleasant.
RUSSELL: The laws on my side, there's nothing you can do about it.
DOUG: There's plenty we can do about it.
Russell accuses Stephen of hiring thugs because he doesn't have the guts to deal with him himself. Russell claims that Phoebe is in love with him and has been after him from day one. Phoebe calls him mad. Russell says that she wants him more than that weak husband of hers, Russell pushes Stephen. Stephen reacts by punching Russell, knocking him to the ground. Russell laughs.
RUSSELL: I think you've just made a very very silly mistake.
STEPHEN: My only mistake was not doing it a long time ago. Let me finish him!
DOUG (holding Stephen back): Calm down, calm down.
RUSSELL: Yes I think you'd better have your temper in check by the time the police arrive.
PHOEBE: The police?
RUSSELL: That's right. I'm charging Stevo with assault and you two are my witnesses. Thanks a million.
