Meanwhile Pam is thrashing Doug at scrabble. Brad is pleased he only has an hour and 15 minutes to go of his fast. Brad says he'll have a big meal tomorrow night at Doug & Pam's big anniversary dinner that he Gaby and Cameron are throwing. Doug and Pam ask where Cam is. He's out on a double date with Lucy and Beth and Rod. Brad feels jealous that they're out while he's at home feeding chips to his mates while starving. Pam says Lucy is the one missing out.
Police Station
Madge talks to Detective Burns about the car being taken from the car yard. She explains she let the guy drive out because she had his name and phone number, and a cheque for the car, although it turns out he wasn't the real Mr Pitt. The detective says the eye witness description of the bank robber fitted Mr Carpenter nicely. Madge says Lou was away on business. Detective Taylor says that Lou lied about where he was.
Detective Burns lets Madge go, but warns her she may be charged as an accomplice. Lou is brought in. Madge tells Lou to tell the police the truth, they need to know where he really was, otherwise they'll arrest him and her. She suggests she calls Cameron but Lou tells her not to. Madge goes home, while Lou sits down for his interview. The detective tells Lou they will arrest him if he doesn't explain where he was. Lou says he'll tell them, as long as they promise not to tell Madge.
Number 22
Rick greets Helen and Paul who is feeding Andrew. He thanks them for letting him stay the night. Rick says he'll go and read up on the required texts before school tomorrow and says goodnight. Helen tells Paul that Rick has a wicked smile and she's heard he's quite a handful. Paul says he's okay, and about the only Alessi who has any time for him these days. Helen asks about Christina, who has rang Paul but only to ask about Andrew. She doesn't want to talk to Paul. Helen suggests she stay until Christina comes back. Paul says it's okay, he can manage on his own. Helen says Paul needs time to himself when he's back from work.
Number 28
Doug asks if Pam has heard anything from Jill as she might be mad at him for upsetting her kid like that. Pam doesn't think so. Lucy and Cameron return home from their night out. Cameron teases Brad about his fasting so Lucy tells him to go make a cup of tea. She excitedly tells Brad that she got her licence. Brad offers to fix a roof rack to her car and she agrees if he's able to give her some surfing lessons while he's at it. She got a new wetsuit and seems very flirty with Brad, while Cameron watches from the kitchen.
Lucy says she wants to go after work tomorrow, she'll get Paul to let her away early. She does have a hotel management course in the evening but she's sure they'll be back before that. Lucy checks that will be okay with Cameron. Madge arrives and tells Cameron and the family that Lou is at the police station, and about him lying about where he was. Doug rushes off to make an important call. Madge knows Lou wants to pay off his loan, but surely he wouldn't go this far, would we?
Police Station
The detectives tell Lou he is off the hook. His lady friend, Norelle, has backed up his statement, and both Mr Willis and the restaurant owner confirm seeing him there. The detectives let Lou go, but they'll keep the car until forensics have finished with it. They will bring in some suspects in a line up and will ask Madge to identify the thief. Lou panics and asks if they're going to tell her, he'd rather stay here with them than go home and explain it to her. The detective tells Lou to go.
Number 28
Pam and Doug are in bed, Pam bragging about winning in scrabble. Doug moans about never winning at scrabble in 25 years, Pam can't remember him winning at anything. Brad knocks at the door to say goodnight. He's eating a banana now the 40 hour famine is over. Doug congratulates Brad for completing the famine, but Brad seems a bit down so they ask how he is. Brad admits he doesn't like the idea of spending all this time with Lucy and Cam at the beach when he feels the way he does. Pam tells him to tell Lucy how he feels. Brad can't go around telling another guy's girlfriend stuff like that. It drives him crazy seeing them both together. Doug and Pam advise Brad to tell Lucy.
Number 24
It's the next morning, Doug brings Lou the paper. Lou thanks for helping him out. Doug asks if he's cleared up everything with Norelle, Lou whispers only to the police. Doug says his secret is safe with him. Lou tells Doug to keep it quiet, as if Madge finds out he's a dead man. Madge bellows from the other room, asking what they're whispering about. Madge emerges from the room, angry with Lou about being up half the night at the police station.
LOU: Talk about the third degree, she gave me a worse grilling than the police.
MADGE: There wouldn't have been any grilling if you'd told the truth.
LOU: I did tell the truth. They let me go didn't they?
MADGE: Oh they let you go. Obviously you told them something you didn't tell me.
LOU: The truth, that I was a meeting with the bank manager.
MADGE: Rubbish. If you'd been to the bank manager you wouldn't have had to keep it secret in the first place!
DOUG: Yeah Lou, why would you? That's something I don't understand either.
LOU (giving angry looks at Doug): Speaking of grilling, why don't I make us some breakfast, ay?
Ramsay Street
Toby and Rick approach Brad, who is setting up the car with Lucy and Cameron. Brad introduces Rick to Lucy and Cam. Rick admires the surfing gear and starts asking about it, but Toby tells Rick not to ask Brad about surfing as they'll be here all day and they don't want to be late. As they leave, Cameron offers for Lucy to ride with him on the bike. Lucy can't wait, she thinks this will be a great day.
Number 22
Paul is about to take Andrew over to Helen's, but he and Andrew playfully search the house for Andrew's caveman toy. They start looking in the drawers, finding Christina's wedding ring in one of the drawers. Paul asks Andrew if he misses mummy, saying that she loves him very much. She doesn't want to be away from Andrew, she just wants to be away from daddy.
Number 24
Lou is tired of Madge giving him the cold shoulder. He explains he was with Norelle, he had to tell her to back off and stop pestering her. So he took Norelle out to lunch to tell her that Madge is the only woman for him.
MADGE: Are you saying that you spent two and a half hours incarcerated in the police station rather than tell me about Norelle?
LOU: I told you you wouldn't believe me.
MADGE: I don't! I can't believe that you'd rather be grilled by the police than face me. Oh you big dope!
Madge and Lou start laughing.
Beach
Cameron, Lucy and Brad are in the sea surfing. Brad and Lucy go to sit together on the beach while Cameron carries on surfing. Brad asks Lucy if they're becoming a couple, but Lucy thinks that is jumping the gun. She's enjoying being with Cameron but she doesn't want to force anything. Brad shows Lucy how to mount onto the surfboard. Cameron sees Lucy and Brad messing around and looks concerned.

Paul comes home looking very glum. He shows Helen the rings he found earlier, Christina's engagement and wedding rings. He doesn't think she is coming back. Helen thinks she may have changed her mind now, but Paul doubts it. Helen doesn't think Christina would leave Andrew. Rick and Toby return from school. Paul tells Rick that he can use that room any time we wants, but Rick thinks he should go home tonight, as he doesn't want his dad to think he's moving out. Toby asks Paul if he has any jobs he could do for money. Paul says he could do the dishes for a dollar, Toby thinks it is a rip off but eventually agrees. Paul asks Rick how his first day at school was. Rick thought it was ace.
RICK: I reckon Erinsborough High's okay.
HELEN: I wouldn't bank on that if I were you. I presume you've met Mrs Burke?
RICK: Oh Burko, she was really nice this morning. She'll be a pushover.
Toby shakes his head.

PAM: To the very best husband in the world.
DOUG: To the most beautiful wife and the first 25 years.
They open their presents. Pam has got Doug a new watch, and Doug has got Pam a necklace, which he helps her put on.
DOUG: And here's to the next 25 years. What do you say?
PAM: I can't wait.
Beach
Lucy is putting on clothes, Cameron gives her a hug to warm her up. She asks if she can travel back with Brad, as she'll probably freeze on the bike. After helping Lucy pack the boot of the car, Cameron kisses Lucy goodbye. Lucy and Brad get into the car and Brad asks Lucy for the keys. Lucy says she didn't have them, Cameron did, just as they see Cameron riding away on his bike.
LUCY: Great what do we now?
BRAD: We could phone home?
LUCY: The phone is miles away and we're stuck out here and it's all your fault Brad!

HELEN: I wouldn't want to look after that young man for any length of time.
