Recap
Lucy tells Glen she loves him and she knows he feels the same.
No.32
Toby and Joe are playing Scrabble while Melanie reads a book with Sky. Toby puts the word "Churl" down and says it's a middle-age peasant - he learnt the word in school. Joe gives up and give Toby the money, but Toby would rather go to Fun Park. Joe says that's a bit expensive - they could go on a family picnic instead.
TOBY: We could go bowling?
JOE: Very funny.
Toby begs to go to the Fun Park and Joe eventually gives in.
No.26
Josh and Todd are up in the night. Josh is very upset about Melissa leaving for America. He's impressed that she took the blame for the science lab explosion though.
JOSH: I can't believe she's going.
No.26, breakfast time
Lucy is making breakfast, but Josh and Todd dash off to see Cody and Melissa. Glen comes out and he and Lucy awkwardly sit down and eat breakfast. Glen says it's hard for them to avoid each other - maybe they should have lunch together to talk. Lucy suggests a picnic by the lake so they can have some privacy.
Cycle Path
Dorothy and Jim are cycling. Dorothy tells him that Colin is coming to dinner tonight. Jim thinks Dorothy should get a divorce - she's missing out on other blokes in the meantime. Dorothy says she's very confused about her feelings for Colin now he's turned up. Jim says that you do have to be sure if you want a divorce - that's why he hasn't done anything about Beverly yet.
JIM: What are you going to do?
DOROTHY: Talk to him about a divorce I suppose. You're right, I should have done it a long time ago.
JIM: Now say it again like you mean it.
DOROTHY: I do mean it.
Willises
Cody is on the phone to Melissa's parents, wondering where she has got to. Apparently she's on her way. Finally Melissa turns up, not in school uniform. She's not going to school - she has to pack. The others are very disappointed - it's their last day together. She promises to come around after school then dashes out. The others think that Melissa is just avoiding school because everyone thinks she blew up the science lab - and she'll have a bad record starting at her new school in America too.
No.32
Melanie, Joe, Toby and Sky are starting their day. Melanie wants to go over to see the twins, but Joe encourages her not to. They will all go to the Fun Park after school.
Dorothy's Office
Todd, Josh and Cody are confessing to the science lab explosion.
DOROTHY: You needn't think that this belated concern for the truth will save you from a fate worse than death!
Dorothy is not happy and says they're lucky the damage to the lab was mainly cosmetic. They will all write a 3,000 word essay on the theme, "Personal and Social Responsibility" to be handed in by Monday. Also, they should tell Melissa to come and see her. Josh begs Dorothy not to give her a hard time - she's "had enough".
Outside the Waterhole
Lucy is waiting for Glen. Melanie tells her that she's going to Fun Park tonight. Melanie tells her that she saw Glen go off about half an hour ago.
MELANIE: Men can be so scatty sometimes. Just as well he's only your brother, eh?!
No.30
Dorothy arrives home and puts a photo of her and Colin's wedding into a frame.
No.26
Lucy is stomping around the kitchen. Glen comes in and is unapologetic about standing Lucy up. He tells her he's a creep and that's why he stood her up. She stomps off.
No.30
Dorothy and Colin are having dinner. She tells him she has been considering a divorce, but before she can continue, there's a knock at the door. It's Melissa and Cody. Dorothy has Melissa's school records for her and suggests she opens them immediately.
MELISSA:(reading) You've left out the explosion!
DOROTHY: Did I? I must have forgotten!
Melissa is delighted and hugs Dorothy goodbye.
DOROTHY: Past is past I always say!
Glen's bedroom
Lucy storms in and tells Glen she knows he's trying to put her off. Glen says he's not - he's giving her the push. He's a self-proclaimed creep.
LUCY: Maybe, but I can't forget you.
GLEN: So try harder.
LUCY: I can't!
No.26, evening
Cody, Melissa, Josh and Todd are hanging out, giving goodbye presents. Melissa gives Josh a bunch of dried flowers from the party he threw for her - she saved them. Todd gives Melissa an "Aussie survival kit" which mainly consists of Vegemite(!)
TODD: You've got to eat it three times a day to stop you from becoming Yank. And when you run out, you've got to come back here to get some more, OK?
MELISSA: Cut it out, or I'll start crying.
Cody drags Todd off so that Josh can be alone with Melissa. He gives her a framed photo of them.
JOSH: I love you, Melissa.
They hug.
No.32
Toby and Sky are totally over-excited, running around the house. They're just about the head off to the fun park. Melanie gets a phone call though, and it's clearly bad news.
No.30
Dorothy thinks that divorce is the only solution between her and Colin.
DOROTHY: Colin, surely you want your freedom, too?
COLIN: I'm not sure I do.
DOROTHY: But it's not right to stay trapped in a marriage that is no longer a marriage.
COLIN: Do you see me complaining?
DOROTHY: No, I don't.
COLIN: We had some good times, didn't we?
DOROTHY: Yes, we did. In between the bad times.
COLIN: I'd like to propose a toast. Here's to both the good times and the bad times.
DOROTHY: I could have done without the bad times.
COLIN: Well then, the good times wouldn't seem so sweet. Like now, for instance.
They clink classes.
(Later)
Colin and Dorothy are in a mellow mood, talking about old times and a sunrise they witnessed together.
COLIN: I'd like to share another sunrise with you, Dorothy.
DOROTHY: Maybe it's time you went home.
COLIN: Maybe I don't want to go home.
He puts a hand on her hair.
