Gemma arrives home earlier than expected; Helen has prepared a surprise birthday tea for her. Madge let Helen know a few hours ago, Matt arrives and is a bit disappointed they can't go for dinner.

DOUG: Three cheers for Dorothy!
The Raiders won, everyone thinks Dorothy made the difference and people are very happy. Pam, Doug and Melanie start dancing as Ryan congratulates Dorothy. Adam is depressed as Caroline won't speak to him after he knocked down Jim on the court. Pam thinks everyone will realise that it was an accident.

JIM: Accident, my foot.
DES: You mean my foot!
Jim thinks Adam hurt him on purpose, Des and Caroline think that it was an accident. The boys point out that Caroline "tore shreds" off Adam, she didn't realise and decides she should apologise, Jim is not impressed.
Number 28
Doug is very impressed with Dorothy's basketball skills as they drink Champagne, Pam is dancing with Ryan. Melanie tells Adam that she knows it was an accident, she thinks that Caroline over reacted, Adam becomes more angry as they discuss Caroline
ADAM: I've got a few things to tell Miss 'high and mighty' Alessi.
Adam storms outside and bumps into Caroline, they both start arguing, Adam says that she made a spectacle of him in front of a crowd, he then mentions Jim and Caroline tells him that it's none of his business. Adam says Caroline only dates boring men and she is middle-aged!
CAROLINE: I prefer that to adolescent men!
As she turns away she says she likes maturity and intelligent conversation.
CAROLINE: Have you not noticed how your voice echoes in your head?

Melanie was watching from the window and meets Adam at the door, Adam decides he isn't sure what he ever saw in Caroline.
ADAM: She can date Dracula for all I care!
Melanie leaves as Adam goes for a shower.
DOUG: You're in good shape for an old person!
Dorothy says she could beat Doug any day so they decide to have a competition; Ryan holds a basket up while Doug and Dorothy throw a cushion into it, its best of ten throws!
DOROTHY: They had a name for me on the court...Killer...Killer Burke.

Caroline is venting about Adam, Jim says he wouldn't expect anything less from a know it all. Jim and Des leave and Melanie arrives, Caroline tells her about the argument with Adam, she starts to go on about Adam's immaturity and how she doesn't like him when Melanie interrupts.
MELANIE: If two people are this upset with each other then it's obvious there's something really important happening between them

Gemma is opening presents, Madge and Harold have bought her a jacket, Ryan has bought her a notebook, and he clearly wants to know what she thinks. Matt has bought her a necklace and another present but that is a surprise for later, everyone wonders where Dorothy is.

Dorothy beat Doug in the Basket and Cushion Challenge and she leaves to go next door.
PAM: I thought she'd never go!
Pam and Doug go to bed leaving Adam and Melanie alone. Adam decides he and Caroline are too different but Melanie thinks opposites attract.
MELANIE:...you and Caroline are in love.
Number 26
Matt leaves, Gemma can't come over to his as she doesn't want to leave the party. Dorothy then calls her back in to the dining area so she can replay some of the basketball game! Later on, Dorothy, Ryan and Gemma leave, Helen defends Adam again but Jim is pleased as he thinks he was won over Caroline now.

Gemma arrives, Matt has decorated the living room with streamers and balloons, and she is delighted but can't stay long. Matt tells Gemma they can go on holiday after their exams and she thinks it's a great idea.

The next morning Pam is washing her car, Adam is miserable as he walks past. Outside number 22 Adam and Caroline bump into each other, they both apologise and agree to give it another go, they kiss
ADAM: What about Jim?
CAROLINE: Who?

Jim tells Helen that he is going to ask Caroline out, Helen suggests he takes Todd but Jim doesn't think it's a good idea! In the living room Matt and Gemma discuss holidays as the doorbell rings, Helen answers, its Aiden, Gemma's boyfriend from Brisbane!
