Recap
Kerry, Joe and Bronwyn wonder why "Linda" is being so secretive.
Paul gets to the end of his tether and tells Christina she's sacked. Caroline walks in and Paul does a double-take.
No.22
Caroline explains that Linda doesn't exist and introduces herself and Christina. They tell him they'll explain everything, but they hope he won't expose them.
CHRISTINA: There was a murder.
CAROLINE: The couple next door to us, in our apartment in the city, were shot. We saw the man who did it.
CHRISTINA: And according to the police it was something to do with drugs. But the point is, we're their only witnesses, and they've put us under a witness protection program.
PAUL: So the police think you're in danger?
CHRISTINA: Yes, we've already been shot at once through our old apartment window.
Paul is shocked to hear this. He still doesn't understand why they're posing as one person, but Christina explains that identical twins are more memorable and therefore easier to find. They'd miss each other too much if they split up. As for work, Caroline explains that she does have "Linda"'s experience, only the name was changed on her CV. Caroline begs Paul not to sack her. He says he'll need some time to think things through.
No.28
Melanie tells Des excitedly that she's recorded a new message for the answering machine - it's for her secret admirer. He refuses to use it, saying he's already got one. He asks her to take Jamie away so he can do his accounts.
No.22
The twins and Paul are still talking over their situation. Paul says he'll keep their secret and admits that a lot of "linda"'s strange behaviour makes sense now. But he's not sure about keeping Caroline on at her job - he's worried about putting his staff in danger if a dangerous criminal is after her. He's also concerned that she'll move away again once the situation is all over.
CAROLINE: Not necessarily. I think we could be happy here. And even if we do move, it doesn't mean we have to leave Lassiter's.
Paul still isn't sure and says he'll think about it over the weekend.
PAUL: But one way or another, I really hope that things work out for you both.

Melissa comes in but she and Todd don't speak to each other. There are some longing looks on both parts though!
The Office
Melanie asks Paul if "Linda" still has a job and he informs her that the car crash was just an accident. Just then, Caroline comes in. Paul tells her that he's going to have to let her go - he has no alternative. Caroline is upset and says the police won't be happy - they're bound to move them on somewhere else. Melanie comes in saying there's a client waiting for Caroline. Paul says he'll keep her on for another couple of days but that's it.
PAUL: Caroline. I really am sorry.

No.22
Paul has come to see the twins. He's had a phonecall from the police and they have persuaded him to keep Caroline on. The twins are chuffed.

Out the back, Paul and Christina are drinking some wine.
PAUL: Must be awful for you being cooped up in the house all day, pretending you don't even exist.
CHRISTINA: I hate it. But Caroline's the career woman. I've only ever done ordinary jobs like shop assistant. And of course, what she's making now is paying the rent, so...
PAUL: Hopefully it'll all be over before too much longer. You'll be able to get back to normal, won't you.
CHRISTINA: I'm even looking forward to going back to work! You know, the best fun I've had since I've been here is talking to you.
Paul decides to avoid Melanie by going out around the side of the house.
Inside, Caroline is just showing Melanie out.
