The Coffee Shop
Des explains to the policeman that it's just a joke but the policeman is young and isn't convinced. Des says they were just "practising" in case he really was robbed(!) to see how he would react. Finally the policeman unlocks Henry's handcuffs and tells them to be less stupid in future. When the policeman has gone, Des shouts at Henry for his mad scheme. Joe comes in with the plate of meat for Des.
Robinsons
Scott, Jim, Nick, Helen and Madeleine are having dinner. Madeleine asks Nick if he's had any luck with the job hunting and how his girlfriend is - bothtouchy subjects(!). Then she asks Scott if he's read the first 100 pages of her book yet. He says darkly that he hasn't finished them yet. Todd shows Jim a photo of him and Katie in the Erinsborough News for winning the funny photo competition.
Des's
Mike is telling Des that he managed to get a little discount on the car, but Des is worried that Mike has spent his trust fund money. Jane comes in and Henry tells her that the robbery plan failed, but he'll think of something else. Des rolls his eyes.
Robinsons
Jim comes in and says that Hilary is worried about Sharon and thinks that Nick is leading her astray. Jim says that maybe Nick is setting a bad example by leaving school. Nick says Sharon makes up her own mind, but Jim says some people are easily lead. Nick says he just wishes people would get off their backs - they don't need a bunch of oldies telling them what to do.
Later at the Robinsons
Nick apologises to Helen for going off the deep end but he just wants a fair go. Helen says that if they want to stop being treated like kids, they have to stop acting like kids.
In the kitchen, the telephone rings and Jim answers it to Beverly (who has apparently regenerated!!) She says she'll be home tomorrow. Madeleine doesn't look very pleased.
Still later at the Robinsons
Jim tells Helen that he wishes Nick would go back to school. Helen suggests that Scott have a word with him - he went through a similar thing himself in wanting to leave school.
Des's
Mike is being domesticated and doing his washing. Des offers Jane some cheese on toast and as he makes it, he complains that Joe is stalking him. He says he knows he should be grateful for his friendship and wistfully says that he should have hung on to Penny. Jane says that you can't force these things and at least she and Des and still friends. Des says it's funny how things never work out the way you want them to.
Robinsons
Nick is moping around and Todd is trying to cheer him up. Nick says he's old enough to make his own decisions and is sick of being hassled.
Bishops
Scott agrees to talk to Nick and offers Jim a coffee. Scott says he's been to see another witness to the case so he could make up his mind about it. The witness confirms the story of the other two witness - that Madeleine's father was a violent nutter. He can't afford to be associated with the book anymore - it will ruin his journalistic credibility. He says he has to quit and Jim agrees with him - now he's got hard evidence. Scott isn't looking forward to telling Madeleine. Jim says he'll be glad to see the back of her - it's unsettling having her around the house.
Des's
Jane and Des are finishing their cheese on toast. Mike comes in through the back door and scares Des - he thought it was Joe sneaking in again(!) Jane suggests a massage to calm him down and starts rubbing his shoulders. Joe comes in and looks embarrassed, thinking the massage has romantic connotations. He says he'll knock next time and makes a sharp exit. Des and Jane collapse in giggles. Des says they should continue the pretence to keep Joe off his back(!) Jane agrees.
Robinsons
Scott invites Nick to share lunch with him later and he agrees. Madeleine comes out and starts talking about the work they're going to do today. Helen and Jim make themselves scarce.
Ramsay Street
Henry sees RegeneratedBeverly getting out of a taxi and welcomes her back.
Robinsons
Scott tells Madeleine that he's quitting due to her journalistic bias. Her father was guilty and there's no getting away from it. Madeleine goes mental and slaps Scott hard. He stalks out the back door leaving Madeleine to rant to herself. She runs into the living room and begs Jim to believe that her father was innocent. Then she starts telling him that she loves him(!) and flings her arms round his neck. RegeneratedBeverly comes in at this point and finds them in what looks like a clinch.
