Robinsons
Beverly arrives home. A parcel has been delivered for Todd from Annette and Bob. Jim tells her he brought the bike but doesn't know if it's the one Todd will want. Beverly wants to see it but Jim says he's hidden it and doesn't want the surprise to be spoiled.

Clarkes
Helen drops in and tells Carol she came to check everything was ok. Carol doesn't invite Helen in but she goes in anyway. Carol tells Helen she thinks Jamie gets too much attention and says she wants to get Jamie into a regular schedule. Helen leaves.

The Coffee Shop
Jim and Beverly are having lunch. They tell Mike about the bike they have brought for Todd. They tell him they're having a party for Todd and invite he and Jane along.

Ramsay Street
Gail is coming out of No 22 and loads some files into her car. She hears Jamie crying and goes over to the Clarkes.

Clarkes
Carol is listening to some music when she hears the doorbell ring. She answers the door to Gail. Gail introduces herself and asks if Jamie is ok, as she's never heard him cry like that before. Carol tells Gail the only thing that is wrong with Jamie is that he's too used to getting his own way. Gail asks if she can see Jamie but Carol says no, Helen was the only visitor Des old her about.

Robinsons
Todd arrives home and Katie asks him to help her with her maths homework. Katie tells him a parcel came for him today from their parents. However she'll only tell him where it is if he helps her with his homework. Beverly arrives and sees Todd with the parcel. He says he wants to open it in his room.

Paul and Gails
Gail has asked Helen to come over. She tells her she's worried about Jamie. She tells her about the incident with Carol. Helen tells her she didn't feel welcome at the Clarkes either but tells Gail not to worry. She says they can't blame Carol for being cautious with strangers. Helen tells Gail if she's really worried she should talk to Des.

Clarkes
Des and Mike have put Jamie to bed and they both comment they he has been cranky since they came home. Des wonders if Jamie remembers Daphne, Mike says he doesn't know. Gail arrives and tells Des and Mike about what happened with Carol.

Robinsons
Katie has got up early to help Beverly with breakfast. She's worried that Todd will be mad at her for telling Jim and Beverly about his birthday. Todd gets up and Katie mouths 'Happy Birthday' to him. Jim comes in riding the bike and they all wish Todd a Happy Birthday. Todd is thrilled.

Clarkes
Carol arrives and Des tells her that he's given Jamie his breakfast. He tells her not to worry about the routine, as they like to feed Jamie when he's hungry. He also tells her that they have a lot of friends in Ramsay Street and if at any time they want to pop round they are welcome to. Carol thinks it's destructive but Mike says no, Jamie likes visitors.

Robinsons Drive
Todd is on his bike. Des and Mike wish him a Happy Birthday. Katie wants a go of the bike but Jim tells her she's not old enough to take a bike on the road yet. Todd tells Katie not to worry, next year she'll be old enough to have her own bike. He thanks her for making him have the best birthday ever.

Clarkes
Jamie is screaming! Carol tells him lunch is still fifteen minutes away. Des arrives and immediately gets Jamie from his room. He asks Carol why she didn't just feed him. She says she wants him to have a routine. Des gets Jamie's lunch and gets ready to feed him now. Carol says if he keeps going on like this Jamie will grow into a problem child. Des tells her that Jamie is the most important thing in his life and if she can't do things his way she may as well just leave. Carol says fine and walks out.

Ramsay Street
Katie is watching Todd ride the bike. She begs him to get her have a go. He does on the condition she sticks to the pavement. Katie sets off on the bike and runs straight into Helen who is carrying Todds birthday cake. They both land on the floor and Helen is out cold.
