At the Clarkes
The boys are playing poker - for big money. Eileen walks in drenched and they all laugh at her, to her annoyance. She goes off to get changed, then overhears Malcolm raise the stakes by $150. She runs over and goes mad at him betting so much money. He calms her down by showing her that it's Monopoly money but she storms off calling them all a bunch of children.
At the Robinsons
Madge and Henry are arguing about whose fault the crash was. Helen drags Madge into the kitchen - she's dripping on the carpet. The row continues in the kitchen with Henry declaring it's her last lesson before slamming off to the shower. Madge worries that she'll never learn to drive now - unless - maybe Helen could teach her? Helen is horrified but eventually gives in. They go back in to the living room where Henry is (very quickly!) changed and ready to go out to the card game. Jim's ears prick up at the mention of "card game" and he leaves too.
At the Clarkes
The card game continues. Eileen is watching in her dressing gown and turban. Henry and Jim come to join in and Des tells them the starting rules. Henry asks "Who made you the banker anyway?" Des calmly answers "God mate".
At the Robinsons
Helen is unhappy that all the boys are missing from her family do (She was cooking in the last Robinson scene but I think this is the first mention of the "family do" taking place, maybe that's why everyone is missing?). She sends Lucy out to go and spoil the card game. Harold arrives, attracted by the smell of the food, and whinges on yet again about losing all his money. Charlene tells him he should look at her and Scott - they never had any. At least he has something to remember. He agrees that money isn't everything, but his wistful stare suggests he's telling porkie pies.
At the Clarkes
Mike's joined in the fun and Henry is winning big bucks. Lucy tries to break up the game but no-one is keen to leave. Des invites them all to stay and suggests ringing out for pizza. Jim agrees that the girls will like to have a night on their own! Des sends Eileen off to join the girls and the boys settle in for the night.
At the Robinsons
Helen is all set to go and drag the men over by their hair but Charlene points out that if she does that they'll only be lousy company. Bev tells Lucy that they can have a game of their own after they've eaten and Lucy happily tells everyone that they're going to play poker too. There are protests all round (why?) and Beverly quickly states that she said a game, not poker. Harold asks if it'll be a game for girls or can a lonely male join in? Madge gleefully informs him that for the purposes of tonight, he's a girl.
They discuss what game they can play - and they daringly come up with scrabble!
At Paul and Gail's
Gail and Beverly have come to pick up the scrabble board and Beverly uses it as an ideal opportunity to talk Gail into telling Paul she can't have children. Gail tells her she's too late, she's already told him and he was fantastic. Beverly has more good news, she thinks Gail would be an ideal candidate for IVF. Gail is very willing and they agree to talk about it further the next day.
At the Clarkes
The stakes are getting higher in the card game with Henry and Jim the only ones left in. Oddly, they both have the same hand. An argument breaks out about who wins now.
At the Robinsons
Surely things will be better over here. Except, the girls are also fighting. Lucy has put down "Hassle" but Harold will not allow it because it's slang. They look it up in the Australian dictionary and an even bigger row breaks out about which dictionary is correct.
At the Clarkes
It's morning and Malcolm has a hangover. He wants to go back to bed but Eileen is dragging him off to church. Des and Mike stagger in. Bad timing - now they're coming to church too.
At the Robinsons
Arguments are still continuing over petty things - Jim and Henry are arguing over Madge pouring Henry coffee. Madge sends him off to get changed and find a better mood. Harold comes in all chirpy and is given dirty looks by all!
At the Ramsays
At last, a house without fighting! Scott is writing up his interview from Mrs Romeo and telling Charlene how he can't believe people still get away with arranging marriages. She thinks it's maybe to do with money or the Mafia (???) but he reckons it's tradition and nothing else. Charlene cuddles upto him and asks when he'll be finished typing. She wants to go out. He tells her he'll be finished that afternoon if he's allowed to get on with it... Spoke too soon Scottie, here's Madge to drag him off to church to watch Harold sing his solo. He stomps off to the bedroom and she sends Charlene after him to put something decent on.
At the Clarkes
Beverly has come round to talk to Paul and Gail about IVF. They're keen to go ahead but she warns them there's a lot involved and they should be prepared.
At the Robinsons
Harold is questioning whether his singing was really okay and Henry assures him it was the only thing that kept him awake! They sit down and Harold starts discussing the sermon, he was very taken with the part that said if you have problems with people they should be brought out into the open. Jim laughs and says it's a nice theory but he doubts it would work in practice. Madge disagrees, they're all friends and should be able to say what they really mean. There's enough tension at the moment and this could help. Lucy agrees. Helen gives in and says alright, but she warns them - they may not like what they hear.
