Recap
Paul gets on Lucy's horse and it bolts.
At the stables
Lucy watches helplessly as Paul hangs onto Jacob before being thrown off. Lucy runs to him and asks if he can move - he says yes, but he isn't going to because it hurts. Lucy insists he get straight back on Jacob, otherwise the horse will think he can get away with it. Paul reluctantly agrees and hobbles off.
At the office
Henry walks in on Jane relaxing with a brew. She tells him she deserves it as she spent her entire lunch break organising his sister's birthday party (No she didn't, she spent it drooling over Scott in the coffee shop!). The phone rings and she puts Rosemary through to Gail in the next office. Henry tells Jane he is going to bring someone with him to the party if that's alright. He then nicks a job list and leaves as Gail comes through. Rosemary had great news for her and Jane - "I think you'd better sit down for this..."
At the Ramsays
Madge is on the phone to Charlene who is telling her all about Greg while Scott and Henry go through the guest list for the party. Scott is worried he won't be able to feed everyone. Madge says she will throw in $40 and bake food for the party. Henry points out that Charlene "the mighty midget with the x-ray eyes" will spot something's going on straight away if she sees Madge cooking all that stuff. Madge tells him she has to bake extra for the coffee shop anyway as three bus loads of New Zealand tourists are coming in.
HENRY: Oh really?
MADGE: No. But you believed it so why shouldn't she?
Madge starts clearing up so she can start tea but Scott tells her he'll just get a toasted sandwich as he's studying with Jane. Henry, the voice of concern, says that's no way for the Hunk of the Year to eat and reads out the write-up from Scott's school magazine. Scott chases him round the table to get it back. Madge grabs it from him and says he is just jealous that Scott's won this award. Henry agrees:
HENRY: I only won the Man of the Month
MADGE: Really? I thought it was Wussy of the Week?
At Paul and Gails
Lucy fusses over Paul who is in pain. He warns her not to tell anyone or he'll rip the wheels off her skateboard. She starts to leave but Gail comes home and tells her she is having dinner with them. Lucy grins and jumps into an armchair. Paul asks Gail how the afternoon went at the office. She tells him there is good news and bad news. Good news - she found a new mechanic. Bad news - Rosemary called. She suggests he sits down (Lucy laughs) which he refuses to do. Gail tells him she and Jane are off to America.
At the Mangels
Scott is delighted Jane has been offered a modelling contract and insists she should go. She is not so sure and tells him to keep quiet - her nan doesn't know. Mrs Mangel comes in and tells them not to make a mess. Jane asks how the party plans are going. Scott says the plans are fine but he's having trouble buying Charlene the ideal present - a manual for Willy. Jane knows exactly the place they could look and they rush out.
At Paul and Gails
Gail makes Lucy promise to keep quiet about Jane's trip until her grandmother knows. She reveals that she may be offered a big contract in the States. Paul is worried they will lose her altogether and is also annoyed that Rosemary didn't consult him before disrupting the office. Gail says if it bothers him that much then she won't go but he says he'll manage, he's done it before.
At the Ramsays
Charlene is reading Scott's Hunk of the Year article. She declares that she'll kill Margi Fraser and tells Henry she's been after Scott for as long as she can remember. Henry points out that she'll have competition now - "all the girls voted for him." Charlene answers that all the girls will keep their hands off if they know what's good for them. Henry walks over to his mum and whinges that he's starting to feel like a real failure compared to Jane the Lassiters Girl and Scott, Hunk of the Year.
HENRY: Quite possibly the most attractive couple in Erinsborough
CHARLENE: They are not a couple
HENRY: And is it fair that Scott, a married man, gets to spend so much time with the lovely Jane? (laughs) All in the name of study of course
CHARLENE: (Not amused) Henry... Your shirt pocket's all wet
HENRY: (Looks quickly) No it's not
CHARLENE: (Tips her water in it) Yes it is (Smiles)
Henry jumps up and yells at his mum to look what she's done.
MADGE: Oh Henry, your shirt pocket's all wet (Henry storms out)
Madge warns Charlene that she'd have spanked her if she was ten years younger but Charlene says he shouldn't have said what he did - it's really starting to bug her about Scott and Jane and the time they spend together.
At Paul and Gails
Gail asks where Paul is and Lucy says he's in the bath. Gail says it must be a shower, he hates baths. Paul comes down and says he fancied a change. Gail puts the food on the table and tells him to sit down. He won't and pretends he isn't hungry. Lucy comments that he said he could eat a horse before. He glares at her and goes to watch TV. Gail is upset - she went to the effort to cook, the least he can do is eat it. He reluctantly sits on a chair, much to Lucy's amusement - the pain is obvious. Gail twigs that something's wrong and asks what's going on. Paul admits that he rode Lucy's horse and was thrown. Gail laughs then asks if he did it because of Glen? He denies it but she looks at Lucy knowingly
At Mrs Mangels
Charlene goes to visit Scott and Jane but Mrs Mangel tells her they aren't there. Charlene assumes they have gone to study somewhere else but Mrs Mangel points out that all his books are still littering up her sitting room. Charlene doesn't believe her and insists on checking for herself. She is not happy to see a lot of books but no Scott and Jane. Someone's in trouble......
At the Ramsays
Charlene storms into the living room and tells Madge that Scott and Jane have gone off somewhere together and left all his books behind. Madge tries to calm her down and says that's no reason to suspect them of foul play - Charlene has to learn to trust people a bit more than that. Charlene answers "Like hell I do." Henry comes in and crows that he's remembered who Margi Fraser is. He wonders if Scott'd introduce her to him - "That is if he doesn't want her of course!". Charlene walks round the couch and kicks him to the floor before storming to her room. He asks Madge what she did that for and she answers "because there wasn't a jug of water handy!"
At the Mangels
Jane and Scott return home with a tatty old manual which Scott is thrilled with. He says Charlene will go berserk when she sees it (so would I!) and he wouldn't have been able to get her anything half as good without Jane's help. He kisses her on the cheek and Jane melts into the floor. Okay, but she does stare lovingly at him for at least 5 seconds.
At Paul and Gails
Gail tells Paul he can go and sit down, she'll clear up. Paul - "I'll pretend you didn't say that." She laughs and he tells her to get it off her chest. They laugh together and she asks him why he did it when he's never ridden before, wasn't anything to do with Glen was it? He insists it wasn't, he just wanted to give it a go. He quickly changes the subject to the new mechanic. Gail tells him he's a bit of a charmer and will get the ladies in. He says all that's left for Gail to do now is pack her bags for America, and she tells him again that she'll stay if he minds her going. He pretends he doesn't mind her going at all but walks away saying sadly he's "thrilled to bits".
At the Ramsays
Charlene is watching TV. Madge warns Henry to leave her alone. To keep his mouth shut she shoves a sausage roll in, (very) hot from the oven. He wanders into the living room and asks Charlene what she's watching. She ignores him. He looks through the TV guide and sees it's "tour through 14th century European cathedrals"
HENRY: Come on Lennie, there's gotta be something better than this on
CHARLENE: Leave it!
HENRY: Sure, I love those old churches.
Scott, timing perfect, comes home all chirpy and asks what all the organ music's about. Henry warns him to keep it down - they're just coming to the exciting part (!). Madge calls Henry into the kitchen. Scott cuddles up to a stony faced Charlene who asks him where he's been. He tells her he's just been studying with Jane as he told her that morning. She turns to face him (with big scary eyes) and demands "So you've been there all this time have you?" He says "Yeah (oops!) why?" and she shakes her head in disbelief. (Looks like more than a jug of water coming up for Scottie!)
