At the Clarkes
Harold apologises to Madge for the way he spoke to her earlier. He says he's been lashing out like a child trying to find someone to blame for his own mistakes and asks if she can forgive him? She hugs him but they are disturbed by Eileen (Yoo hoo! Harold!). She has brought him some cake for afternoon tea and grumpily insists it will stretch to three.
On the bridge
A woman standing on the bridge, stupidly dangling her keys over the side, catches Henry's eye. He rushes over to say hi and she very predictably drops her keys into the water. Henry says he will go home and get his wet suit to get them out, then drop them up to her room (!). She declines so he says he'll leave them at the hotel desk and rushes off home.
At the Clarkes
Eileen fusses around Harold stuffing pillows behind his back. She pries into the reason for Madge's visit and Harold tells her they put the whole "silly business" behind them - and he has also forgiven Eileen. She digs further and asks if he and Madge are back together. He says that Madge is the reason he came to Erinsborough in the first place, and the reason that he will stay. Home is where the heart is. Eileen roughly pulls the pillows out from behind him!
Des and Daphne arrive home. Des tells Eileen and Harold about Daphne's dad and that Daphne will be moving out for a while. Eileen is worried about all the travel for Des, and thinks he won't be able to cope without Daphne - she will have to move in there herself. Cripes!
Outside the Waterhole
Henry is diving for the keys while Mike watches. Sally arrives back waving the key - Mike fished it out with a pole ages ago.
In the coffee shop
Eileen tells Mike he will be sharing with Harold when she moves in. He is not impressed! Henry comes in waging war with Mike but is distracted when Sally (Wells, the girl from the bridge) offers to buy him a coffee. She thinks Mike is mean for not telling him he'd already got the key, but Henry says he was just pulling his leg, they're always kidding around like that. Sally questions him about the neighbourhood and seems particularly interested when he mentions Des Clarke. She covers by saying her bank manager at home mentioned him and asked her to look him up (lamest cover story ever Sally!).
At the Clarkes
Des and Harold are doing a crossword. Daphne comes in to make tea but Des stops her and says they can have beans on toast, she's worked hard enough that day. She says if that's the best he can do it's a good job Eileen's moving in! Harold sensitively asks whether Daphne couldn't maybe move her father in there instead of Eileen coming (!). Des flatly refuses. Quite right too. He then insists that Harold go and rest in his room - he wants time alone with Daphne. She has other ideas and wants to talk about her father. She tells him she needs to know that he really loves her (her father, not Des) because she can't spend the rest of her life wondering. "For once in my life, I want to hear him say he loves me."
At the coffee shop
Jane comes in just as Mike is closing up. Mike asks her how the tutoring is going and she says it's great. She always really liked Scott but he's always just been Charlene's other half - until now. Mike tells her he's falling behind with his own studying because of Harold's snoring. Jane suggests there may be a way round it...
At the Ramsays
Madge comes home and slips on Henry's wet suit - he'd left it on the back of the couch to dry! She leaves him to pick up the shopping and he looks through it to find avacados and caviar. She tells him they're celebrating Harold staying in town. He remarks "Ain't love grand". She says they're friends and that's all - he tells her he wasn't talking about her! If only he can get Mike to keep his hands to himself...
At the Mangels
Mrs Mangel is worried about how much time Jane is spending alone with Scott, she is concerned for her reputation. Jane protests that he's her best friends husband (mark those words..) but maybe if there was a third person he could act as a chaperone. Mike perhaps? Mrs Mangel thinks the idea is ridiculous until Jane points out she'd have to give Harold's board money back if he's not staying there.
At the Clarkes
Mrs Mangel suggests Mike move in with her (Clever Jane!). Mike is thrilled. Harold worries that Mike is moving out because of him but Mike insists he is happy with the swap. Des realises half an hour after the rest of us that it's because Jane is there.
At the Mangels
Mrs Mangel greets Mike with a list of rules for her house. He is to be fully dressed at all times, no night wear is to be worn - except in the bedroom, there is to be no visiting between bedrooms - day or night (Jane - "This is so embarrassing!"). Jane tries to hide her laughing.
At the Clarkes
Des says he will try to visit Daphne more often than they'd agreed but she talks him out of it. He kisses her but they are quickly interrupted by Eileen banging on the door with many bags. She wants to be prepared for the worst! Spotting Harold without his cushions she forces them back behind him. Des and Daphne give each other "Oh no!" looks.
