Jim is still trying to get the truth from Lucy when Paul arrives. He asks her what is wrong with her and wants to know what he has done to upset her. Lucy says that she and Emma saw Paul kissing Crystal, she can't believe he has cheated on Gail. Paul gets himself out of the mess and tells Lucy that Crystal is a business woman who relies on affections to get her what she wants. He promises that Gail knows all about the other night and tells her to come and see Gail so she can tell her herself. Lucy goes to get ready and Jim asks Paul if he's telling the truth. Paul tells Jim that he loves Gail and is not about to start cheating on her.
Paul and Gail's
Paul tells Gail that Lucy saw him with Crystal. He says Lucy is coming over for some reassurance. Gail says she doesn't mind talking to Lucy but doesn't like lying. Paul says she doesn't have to lie and says she should tell Lucy the truth; Crystal means nothing to him. Gail asks if that's what he told Crystal but Paul tells her that's his business. Lucy arrives and Gail puts her mind at rest. Lucy says they don't act in love like Des and Daphne do; Paul assures her they do in private. Paul kisses Gail on the head and Lucy seems satisfied. Gail tells her to come back later for a flute recital and Lucy happily agrees. Rob comes downstairs.

Jane asks Jim if Henry could mow his lawns for him. Jim agrees. Mrs Mangel arrives with some things for Jane. Jane is quite cold with her and gives her back her childhood doll. Jim tells Jane she may have been too hard on Mrs Mangel. Jane says Mrs Mangels niceness is all an act, and one she won't be falling for again.
Mrs Mangel's
Mrs Mangel is sitting alone with the doll. She says to herself that Jane doesn't care anymore.
Paul and Gail's
Paul finishes a phone call with Mr Udigawa. They have lost the deal and Mr Udigawa is going back to Japan. Rob apologises and asks if there is anything he can do. Gail tells Paul she knows how much the deal with Mr Udigawa meant to him. She says she is sorry that he lost it. Paul tells Gail it's not her fault. She says they got married because of Mr Udigawa and wonders what the state of play is now. Paul says there are a lot of advantages in the business world if they remain married, however if she wants out he won't stand in her way. Gail says she's happy with the way things are and Paul says it protects them from getting involved with anyone else. They agree to continue being married. Lucy arrives and they prepare to show her how happy they are.
