The cricket team donate $400 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Everyone toasts Phil Nolan's cricketing prowess and they all sing "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow." Des does not look pleased.
Scott wants to go out to celebrate the cricket team's win. Jim says he has to study but Laura says it's good to let off steam before cramming. Jim says Scott has to be in by 10.30pm!
Scott and Charlene are about to go out when the phone rings. It's Madge. She tells her that they're not up to any mischief - she and Scott and planning their study schedule.
Scott wanders off and sees a half-full wineglass on the table. He pours the wine away. When Charlene gets off the phone they go out while the going's still good!
Charlene and Scott have arrived at the pub. Scott is reluctant saying they're underage, but Charlene says Shane will serve them. Shane won't serve them though. Charlene shows him fake IDs but it's no good - he knows their real ages. Scott tells Charlene that she never knows when to quit.
Scott and Charlene have arrived home not having been able to get served anywhere. Scott isn't bothered though. Charlene pours them both a glass of wine, but Scott isn't interested. He doesn't think that Charlene should be drinking.
Phil has beaten everyone at Trivial Pursuit, much to Des's disgust. Daphne sends Des off to clean out the spare room for Phil. Des isn't pleased. Mike goes to give him a hand. Des tells Mike quietly that he can't wait for Phil to leave!
Scott tells Charlene that he doesn't like seeing girls drunk. Charlene calls him a hypocrite, but Scott says the time he drank was a one-off. Charlene says she just wants to have a good time while Madge is away.
Shane comes in and Scott leaves. Charlene says the wine is no big deal. Shane starts cleaning up the mess while Charlene insists that she's an adult.
Robinsons, the following morning
Scott and Lucy are bickering about the hot water supply. Laura comments that Jim is getting on well with Ruth and wonders if she can hear wedding bells! Scott and Lucy says that if they get married, Ruth's children will come and live with them and then there'll be even less hot water to go round! Jim comes in at that moment and asks who used up all the hot water(!)
In the sitting room Lucy asks Jim if she'd always be his number one even if Ruth kids came to them. Jim says that's a pretty big if, but Lucy would always be his number one whatever happened.
Des is still prickly about Phil. When Des has gone to get ready for work, Phil says he'd better stay somewhere else tonight because he can see Des doesn't really want him to. But Daphne won't hear of it.
When Phil has gone, Des leaves for work but Daphne is clearly cross with him.
Charlene is hungover! Scott comes to study and Nikki joins them with a huge pile of books.
Helen sees Mrs Mangel. Mrs Mangel says she's heard that Helen is going to the USA. She asks why Helen is leaving the family at an "awkward time" but Helen says she's going to see Rosemary. Helen says that Ruth is moving in to keep an eye on things. Mrs Mangel says people will talk and thinks it's disgraceful how parents leave their children and go gallivating off! Helen says that it didn't seem to worry Amanda when she took off and left Jane with Mrs Mangel!
Shane comes in for a chat. He tells Daphne that he's busy with the gardening and barwork. He asks how Des is and Daphne admits that he's being a bit of a pain. Shane says that Des feels inferior to Daphne's ex. Daphne says that it's childish behaviour, but Shane says that's how men are! He says Des's jealousy is a compliment to her.
charlene tells Nikki that she's too strict and wants to have a break. Nikki takes offence and walks out.
Laura is having a chat with Daphne. Daphne can't understand why Laura isn't going to the USA with Helen - there's lots of people around to look after Nikki. But Laura's mind is made up. Daphne tells her to think about it some more - Nikki is a big girl now and has her own life to lead.
Des comes in and Daphne hugs him. But Des doesn't want to make up. Daphne says that she understands that Des is jealous of Phil. Des takes offence and says that Phil is nothing but a loud-mouthed, show-boat. Daphne is very cross. She tells Des that while Phil is a guest in their house he must treat him with respect.
