Car Park
A passer-by helps Daphne up from the ground (Daphne has only sustained a glancing blow)
Coffee Shop
Daphne staggers into the Coffee Shop very upset and tells Harry and Barbara brokenly what has happened. Harry goes to ring someone to give Daphne a lift home. Daphne twigs that it must have been Charles, but Barbara poisons Daphne's mind, telling her that last time she went to the police they didn't believe her.
Daphne has hurt her wrist and is clearly very shaken. Harry comes back and tells her that Max is going to come and give her a lift home.
Barbara leaves, telling Daphne to give her regards to Terry. Daphne says Terry will be back this evening if she wants to ring her.
Charles' place
A priest is visting Charles because he's offered to make a donation to a refuge. Barbara bursts in, not seeing the priest, and tells Charles that they have a problem - the hitman hit Daphne instead of Terry.
Suddenly she notices the priest. Charles covers what she's said by telling the priest that he and Barbara are setting up a comapny and are trying to head hunt the best people. The priest buys the story and Charles shows him out, asking the priest to keep their trade secrets(!)
When the priest has gone, Charles wants Barbara to tell him how she fouled it up.
Clarkes
Max has got Daphne home and he's very concerned about her. Daphne starts to cry and says she could be dead. She suddenly realises something.
DAPHNE: That must be it. Charles must think I've got the tape.
Max urgently asks Daphne if she knows who the driver was. But Daphne says she didn't see the driver and starts to cry again. Max comforts her and helps her off with her coat.
DAPHNE: It had to be Charles.
She suddenly realises - Charles was trying to kill Terry. She looks horrified and sobs on Max's shoulder.
Later at Ramsay Street
Max has brought Daphne back from the doctor's in his van. Des sees them coming and goes out to meet them. The doctor has given Daphne a sedative and she's all floppy, so Des scoops her up into his arms and takes her into the house. Des is very angry at what's happened to Daphne.
MAX: If I get my hands on the mongrel who did this, I'll do him.
DES: You can have the mongrel. After I've finished with him.
Later at Des's
Des is cooking dinner while Harry lays the table. They bicker about the cooking while Harry starts going on about how women need love and pampering. Daphne comes in at this point asking about Terry. Apparently she phoned to say that she and Paul were staying on holiday for another day. She sits down heavily at the table.
When Harry has gone, Des sits with Daphne at the table.
DES: I'm really pleased you're OK, mate. I don't know what I'd do without you.
DAPHNE: Me either.
DES: If you had been killed, I...
DAPHNE: I'd have come back and haunted you.
Des offers Daphne some of the dinner he's cooked and she agrees to try a bit. A bit of a solemn moment comes between them and Daphne manages a small smile.
Ramsay Street
Shane is cleaning his car. Max comes out and asks him if he thinks anyone would have a motive to kill Terry - something Daphne said. Max knows Shane knows something, and Shane admits that a bloke has been heavying Terry. Max can't believe that Terry and Daphne haven't called the police.
Robinsons
There's a knock at the door and it's Douglas. He gives Lucy a book of famous artists. She asks if there are any horses at the cottage at the country. Douglas says that there are some nearby and he'll ask if Lucy can ride them - Lucy is delighted.
Helen and Jim greet Douglas, and Jim tells them that the project is going very well - he may be on his way to a comfortable early retirement. When Jim and Lucy have gone to school, Helen and Douglas have a cup of tea. Douglas says that he's had a quick sell on his apartment and they laugh together - they seem very happy.
Clarkes
Daphne takes the gun (the one belonging to her suicidal friend), wraps it in a plastic bag and puts it in the flour bin on top of the fridge.
Max comes in and asks Daphne urgently for the full story between her and Terry. Daphne says she can't tell him. Max is upset and says everyone is getting hurt - Daphne was nearly killed, and Shane and Paul are at each other's throats. Daphne says she promised she wouldn't tell. Max says he doesn't think Daphne has time to muck about - then at least Max could give her some protection - she's got nothing now.
Charles's Place
Charles tells Barbara that they'll finish the job on Terry when Terry gets back tonight.
Clarkes
Daphne has confided in Max and he's shocked to hear the truth about Charles - him being a respect public figure and all. Daphne doesn't know what's on the tape and Max says it must be pretty crook. Daphne tells Max that they can't find the tape - and what's on it will put Charles away, but it'll put Terry away too.
Max asks Daphne where to find Charles - he wants to sort him out. Daphne says that Charles pays people to do his dirty work for him, and Max says he could do it for Daphne! Daphne can't let Max do it though.
MAX: If I knew where this bloke was, maybe I could stop him.
DAPHNE: Maybe.
Max rolls his eyes a bit and leaves.

The sale of the cottage has gone through and Des tells Helen and Douglas that they have $14.80 left in their joint account! Des gives them the bank cheque for the cottage, as instructed by the solicitor and asks them when the house-warming will be(!)
Outside the bank
Douglas says that all he has to do now is sign a few papers and hand the cheque over, and the house is theirs. He says he wants the cheque at the solicitor's as soon as possible for safety. Helen says she has an appointment soon about her wedding dress. Douglas says he'll take the cheque and call at an antique shop on the way back for a surprise for Helen. He heads off, then turns and waves to her with the cheque in his hand. Helen smiles happily.
Coffee Shop
Max is sitting at a table with a lot on his mind, while Harry tries to get him to eat a nice piece of cake. Max tells him the cake is very nice and Harry asks him how Daphne is. Max asks Harry if he knows anything about Terry and Charles. Harry said he had to go round to Charles's place one night to rescue Terry.
MAX: You mean you've been to his place?
HARRY: Yeah.

Charles's Place
Max turns up and Charles lets him in. Max tells him that he just wanted a word, as a friend of Daphne and Terry. Charles says he doesn't know either Daphne of Terry. Max tells him that things have gone far enough.
