Recap
- Danny tells Scott that Richard has paid for them to go to a rock concert and he's driving!
- A bloke called Colin leans over the fence and asks if Daphne is OK.
- Maria tells Max that she still loves him. Max wonders if they've done the right thing splitting up.
- There's ghostly happenings in Daphne's house-sitting place with a glass smashing on the mantlepiece and the door opening on its own.
Daphne's housesitting place
A bit of time has gone by and Daphne is cleraing up the smashed glass. There's a knock at the door and it's Colin from next door. Daphne's pleased to see another human being and invites him in. Colin invites her over to his place, but Daphne says Shane will be back soon. Colin offers to stay with her until Shane gets back and Daphne is extremely grateful.
Des's
Julie is helping Des with his paperwork. He is rather irritated by Julie's pernicketiness (if that is a word). Julie asks Des if he's thought of taking up singing lessons - he's got a nice deep voice and it might take the twang out of it(!) Then she criticises Des for drinking coffee. He gets more and more irritated as time goes on. Julie tells Des off for being irritable so he snaps and tells her that he won't wear all her criticisms. Julie storms out.
Robinsons
Danny is teaching Scott to play the guitar. Scott thinks Richard is being very nice to Danny. Danny says he'll get rid of Richard - he just needs a new plan. Scott advises him not to, he'll just get into trouble.
Julie comes in and moans about Scott's guitar playing. They decide to go over to Max's bedsit.
Daphne's housesitting place
Daphne and Colin are getting on well. Just then Shane comes back and isn't pleased to find another man with his woman. When Colin has gone, he berates Daphne for letting strangers come into the house. Daphne asks Shane knowingly if he's threatened by Colin!
Max's bedsit
Scott and Danny have arrived. He offers them some fish fingers and Danny says that Maria is still on strike from doing things for Danny. Max picks up the guitar and to Danny's surprise plays tuneful chords. He says he used to play before he was married.
Max advises Danny not to interfere with Richard - what will happen will happen whatever he does.
Robinsons
Des has come to apologises for shouting at Julie. Julie is going to a concert and invites Des along. He goes home to get changed. Then he sticks his head back in and asks who's playing. He isn't too pleased to hear that it's a Russian pianist(!)
Max's bedsit
A woman rings Max's bell. She's looking for Shane Ramsay. Obviously Shane is at Daphne's, so the woman leaves her telephone number. Max looks quite taken with her!
Robinsons
Des and Julie are back from the concert.
DES: It was better than I expected.
JULIE: Oh, what do you mean. You were eager to go.
DES: I'm very fussy about who interprets Stravinsky. I mean, not a lot of virtuosos can capture the nuances!
Des says that he enjoyed having Julie's company. Company is what he misses now that Joan has gone. He asks Julie if she thinks about Philip Martin much, but she says she doesn't, rather forcefully. She hasn't heard from him either. She says she has to stop thinking about him. Des says it's hard - stuff will suddenly remind you. Julie advises Des to get rid of the kids toys that they left at his place. He says he will.
Things get a bit awkward between Des and Julie and he says it's just like old times. It's good to have friends.
Daphne's housesitting place
Shane and Daphne are having a cuddle on the sofa. He suggests that Daphne could go back to Des, but Daphne refuses to run away. Shane says she can't depend on him to come round every time she hears a noise. Daphne takes great offence to this and says Shane can leave if it's such a chore for him. But he says angrily that he's staying and lies down on the sofa.
Robinsons
Des and Julie are saying goodnight. Jim comes in from a meeting. He says it was very boring except for the speaker - him!
Jim asks Julie if she and Des are getting on well. He tells her to be careful - both of them have been emotionally battered lately and they shouldn't get into a rebound relationship. Julie insists that she and Des are just friends.
Julie sits down with Jim at the table and apologises again for the business with Anna - she didn't know what she was doing then, but she does now. Jim says that she's forgiven. Julie says she felt threatened and that Anna was going to take her position in the family. She tells Jim she loves him.
Daphne's housesitting place
Daphne gets up and tries to wake Shane up, saying she's too scared to sleep by herself. So she gets her duvet and pillow and sets up bed on the floor beside Shane's sofa. Shane doesn't wake up.
Ramsay Street, the following morning
Danny has come to pick up Scott for school and is having breakfast with them. Jim and Julie thinks that Danny should sort things out with his mother.
Jim is surprised that they're off to a rock concert. Julie thinks they are full of drugs(!) Scott says it's not exactly Woodstock(!)
Daphne's housesitting place
Daphne has brought Shane some breakfast. He claims he hasn't slept at all(!)
Colin comes round to see how things went, so Shane heads off. He's not pleased to hear Daphne making Colin breakfast!
Ramsay Street
Julie is being nice to Scott and Danny and giving them sandwiches. They are quite thrown(!)
Daphne's housesitting place
Daphne gets scared out the back.
Max's bedsit
Max is in a good mood having slept well. Shane comes in and is less happy. He looks awful. Max tells him that a girl called Liz called round and Shane perks up dramatically!
Daphne's housesitting place
Daphne picks up a gardening implement and creeps toward an outhouse. Be careful, Daphne! That particular outhouse is locked, but just then she hears a noise from another. She creeps towards the door, holding a gardening implement. Then she puts her hand to the door handle.
