Number 22
Terese denies that she is drinking, it "isn't what it looks like" she tells Nell, quickly adding that she was tempted to have a glass but swears that she hasn't "had a drop."
NELL: Really?
TERESE: You caught me just in time.
Harolds café
When the family meet up, Dex gives his parents the good news that he's interested in doing the extra computing stuff after reading up about it.
The family chat is interrupted when Susan enters the café and Remi tells her about Terese being a bit off and that she had a migraine - which explains why Susan wasn't let into the house. Susan is grateful for the heads up and promises to check up on Terese later.
Meanwhile Felix is having trouble paying electronically for his coffee, having to rake in his pockets for the cash instead. In the background, Dex wonders why he can't get coffee from the Tram and JJ almost defends his dad, much to Cara/Remi's surprise, by commenting that "we can't exile him to the Tram forever."
The Tram
Holly is struggling with the breathing exercises in the book when Felix arrives. He quickly points out why she is struggling (as the book is suggesting) so he shows her the correct way to do it. The pair have literally finished when Karl arrives and they put Holly's state down to a bad customer, which thankfully Karl believes.
We hear too that the payment machine is down too - which could explain why Felix couldn't pay for his coffee electronically at Harolds, rather than him not having money in his account.
Aaron arrives on a mercy mission, and with Karl's blessing, he takes Felix away to work on something for the Boylesque show.
Number 22
Terese unloads to Nell how she's been struggling lately especially after the Rebecchi clan moved away, which is why she wanted the wine. She lies again to Nell about the fact she has been drinking already.
NELL: I hate seeing you like this.
TERESE: Please, don't worry about me. This was just a little slip- up and seeing you has made me realise how important it is to stay sober.
Terese promises to get rid of the bottle and attend AA meetings again, determined to do "whatever it takes" to get through this… but really its said more so that Nell doesn't tell anyone about what she witnessed.
Number 30
Remi offers to accompany Cara to her fertility appointment as she can start work late but it looks like Cara's not exactly keen on going to it after checking the finances out - what isn't helping is the fee for Dex's course. And of course who happens to hear that last part, yes Dex, when he came out of his room.
Number 22
Terese does as promised and pours the wine away but rejects Nell's suggestion of telling someone, especially Susan given that Terese is her boss! "There has to be someone else?" Nell comments but Terese turns it around by saying she doesn't want to let anyone else down, letting Nell down was bad enough.
It suddenly dawns on Terese why Nell is in town and she explains about wanting to see her and JJ. She confirms that Toadie doesn't know where she is, but thought the trip to Erinsborough was worth the risk. Terese offers Nell a deal - they keep their respective secrets, which reluctantly Nell agrees to.
The Tram
When Paul runs into Felix and Aaron and hears they haven't come up with a plan to prevent the protest at the Boylesque event from happening, much to their annoyance, he decides to take matters into his own hands.
Meanwhile inside the tram, Karl comments to Holly about how well things are going with Felix given her initial reservations. After agreeing with her dad that things are good, she then praises Felix for being "a lot more helpful than I expected."
Number 30 (sunroom)
Given what he overheard, Dex can't concentrate on helping JJ with his homework and its noticed. He asks if JJ thinks their parents have money worries and while they aren't rich, JJ doesn't think they will be forced to eat baked beans every night for dinner. Dex is still worried though that they can afford it, but he seems to get that they'd be disappointed if he pulled out, given how thrilled they were to hear he was going to do the course.
When Dex heads inside to get some snacks, JJ is happy shocked to see Nell, he thought she'd be on her way back to Colac. She wants him to keep an eye on Terese (not spying!) for her but puts it down to Terese being lonely than hitting the bottle again. JJ agrees to her request and is rewarded with a kiss before she scarpers off as quickly as she arrived!
Number 22
Susan calls by to check on how Terese is and is relieved to hear she is much better and with that, she invites Terese to go with her to the Boylesque event - initially Terese said no but Susan wears her down into saying yes!
Hospital
While they wait for Cara's appointment, Remi and Cara discuss JJ defending Felix earlier and feel its only a matter of time before the lad wants to properly get to know his dad. Cara admits she isn't "looking forward to that day" and reluctantly agrees with Remi's thinking that they need to handle that differently compared to the last time.
Turning back to why they are at the hospital, Cara admits she isn't going to get her hopes up until they get the results of the tests back, it could prove to be a bust. Whatever the results say, Remi reassures Cara that they're "in it together."
The Tram (late)
A distressed Holly wakes Felix up wanting urgent help - the breathing technique isn't working plus Holly feels like she's going to be sick. Letting her inside the tram, Felix calms Holly down and begins to repeat the breathing technique that he showed her earlier.
Number 30
Remi is surprised to see Cara still up when she arrives home - Cara has been thinking about JJ/Felix and agrees they messed things up the last time and knows they need to "try and exist in the same space" even if she is unsure how to do that. Remi suggests exposure therapy as a way forward - they are going to have brekkie at the tram tomorrow.
The Tram
Now she's calmed down, Holly is grateful for the help Felix has given her, commenting that she "didn't know breathing was so difficult!" After bringing Holly a cuppa, he reassures her that with practice, she will get there. She is very grateful for his help, "especially after I was such a brat," and Felix suggests that Holly stops hiding what she's going through to enable her to lean "on her people" but she fears she can't do that for being labelled "crazy." Felix is very quick to dismiss that suggestion, reminding Holly that she's "been through a lot of trauma" which "usually comes with a pretty hefty price tag." Holly again refuses to talk to Karl because [to her] she is "always disappointing him."
HOLLY: I make really bad decisions. I hurt people. It would be so selfish if I asked for help now. I just wish I could be a better person… like you.
Felix is quick to remind Holly that he is "far from perfect" but she knows he is trying! His advice is she can't start to make better decisions until she's forgiven herself, which he knows will be hard "but it's worth it."
Holly spots his sleeping stuff down the bottom of the tram from where they are sat and asks if he is okay about staying in the tram. Felix's reply is that he is "just grateful to have a roof over my head" as it is all he can afford just now but does add he is "working on that" which at least gets a smile out of Holly!
The Waterhole (next day)
Paul has to make do with Susan rather than Terese, to pass on some spa day vouchers to Hilary and Moira to stop them picketing ahead of the Boylesque show!
SUSAN: Sounds more like a bribe to me!
PAUL: No… just sound business sense!
Harolds café
Fearful that he is going to break the rules again, Felix is about to head out of the café when he spots JJ there after entering. The lad tells Felix he can stay as he is about to leave but before he does, JJ is grateful that Felix kept his word and didn't dob him into his parents for being with Nell. In turn, Felix reminds JJ that he's to keep his word too - no more skiving school when Nell is in town. JJ knows that won't happen again and the pair start to 'word spar' with one another before JJ heads off to school.
Eirini Rising
On Moira's behalf, Susan has contacted the delivery company to enquire about the missing bottle of wine - they confirm it was delivered in its entirety, the bottle went missing afterwards. At this point, Terese tries to hide herself while listening to the K's talk about who would have pinched the bottle of wine.
The Tram
Putting their big pants and brave faces on, Remi and Cara arrive at the tram to have brekkie. Felix is shocked to see them arrive and listens to them explaining why they are there (wanted a change from Harolds) before handing them some menu's and telling them to come inside to order when they're ready.
REMI: See, that wasn't so bad, wasn't it?!
CARA: Jury is still out on that one but this is for JJ, so I'll stay the course!
Inside the tram, Felix checks that Holly did get some sleep (yes, thanks to him) and if she's thought more about talking to her dad? Before she can reply, Karl interrupts to check that they accurately recorded all the sales yesterday - there is a $300 difference to what was taken in and what was banked. Holly confirms the $300 came in after Felix banked the money but the envelope with the money has gone missing!
As the trio are trying to work out who to blame or what happened to it (like the envelope being accidentally thrown out) Cara and Remi enter the tram and hear Karl's warning that if the money isn't found and returned by the end of the day, he will be forced to contact the police.
KARL: Now Felix, I don't want to believe you've done anything wrong but this happened on your watch. I'm going to have to let you go.
Holly can't believe what her dad has done and Remi silently shakes her head.
