Lassiters Complex
Wendy denies that she was with Quinn... she was at the bar to meet her mentor, but it was Quinn who was there. She wasn't amused at him doing that to her, however apparently he was in a bit of a state so rather than confronting him in public, she took him into the office to chat privately there and of course everything then kicked off and subsequently, they spent the night hiding out there. Andrew isn't sure what to believe and abandons Wendy to go collect witness statements. "I'm a victim too," she say aloud when he walks off.
Police Station
When Andrew comes to interview Holly, she gets straight to the point wanting to know how much trouble she is in. However he'd rather hear her side of things first and so sits down at the table ready to listen.
Penthouse Suite
Paul looks happy to be in fresh clothes after his ordeal, however despite Terese telling him to get some sleep, he isn't ready to do that and instead invites her to stay and keep him company watching the new season of Glugginn which Karl has plugged to him.
Lassiters Complex
Andrew escorts Holly out of the station with a warning not to leave Melbourne and that her car will be impounded. Susan asks if she will be charged but that won't happen until the complicated investigation has finished. "If I'm charged, can I go to jail?" Holly asks but Andrew gives a non- committal reply saying it's the judge who decides the sentence.
Police station
Andrew heads back inside to be told his next witness is ready - Quinn! However Andrew asks Officer Neyland to do it instead, he'd rather do the paperwork on Holly.
Penthouse Suite
Terese and Paul are having a whale of a time watching Glugginn when Byron arrives. Given the look on his face, Terese leaves them to it and heads off to check in with Susan.
The Waterhole
The chat Byron wanted with Paul was about Holly and he replays the news to Sadie that Paul is going to think about keep her on at the hotel. Sadie doesn't think there is any issue, to her the money was fair given what Heath put Holly through. "Not in the eyes of the law," Byron replies and adds in that Paul has Lassiters reputation to think about too, however Sadie doesn't think Krista will let Paul get rid of Holly.
When Sadie cancels an incoming call from her mum, she tells Byron why they couldn't get hold of her - she was "hiding out in The Waterhole with Quinn." "Oh," Byron says to that and wonders if something happened and apparently not Sadie replies but adds in that Andrew "is just so mad at her."
BYRON: And what about you?
SADIE: Well, I was scared for her, but not after I found out that she was with Quinn.
When Wendy calls again, Sadie bemoans about being "stuck in the middle again" and (after Byron asked) feels she can't leave them to sort things out again because it will take them longer to do that. "It is not your responsibility," Byron reminds her but before they can chat more, given Sadie wasn't picking up her calls, Wendy appears instead to ask if they can talk.
Number 28
Terese is relieved to hear that the K's made it safely out, that they are both fine and don't need hospital treatment. Susan is more concerned about Holly and moves from the dining table to sit next to Holly on the sofa to continue watching Holly's favourite television programme, "a good distraction," Karl explains.
When Terese again brings up about getting Susan checked at the hospital, Karl thinks it's best for her (and Holly) to stay home and rest, indeed suggesting that Terese should do that too given the night everyone had. Terese doesn't exactly look too enthralled about going home alone to an empty house.
The Waterhole
Wendy confirms to Sadie that yes, she did try to get rid of Quinn but he cornered her and began apologising and explaining himself to her. While it was "a lot to take in," Wendy also adds he "was practically crying" too due to the pressure he's under to change courses by his family. Sadie questions why Quinn's problems are her mum's too and Wendy agrees [it shouldn't be] and "he doesn't get to lure me away from my family just because he's having trouble with his" which was relayed in a "much stronger language" to Quinn!
From the smile on Sadie's face, she unlike Andrew believes what Wendy is saying. Sadie suggests looking at it "from his perspective" and Wendy agrees that "it must have looked bad."
SADIE: Really bad! He thought you were off somewhere safe with your mentor last night.
Wendy gets that, and is sorry at the shock Andrew got, but adds that she did too.
SADIE: I was scared too mum.
WENDY: I didn't ask Quinn to do this. I just... I don't know how I can stop him from inserting himself into my life.
SADIE: That sounds like something that you need to figure out.
Number 22
Terese lets herself into the empty, silent house. She picks up a photo of herself with Hugo and Nell before [later on] we then hear her calling Piper to invite her for a visit but she is too busy to come. Next, Terese seems almost in a trance waiting for the kettle to boil [for her morning cuppa] before she then exits the house.
Number 28
It looks like Holly hasn't left the sofa since they got home yesterday and while the K's are in the kitchen sorting out breakfast, Holly googles on her phone 'what do you get for theft in Victoria?' and reads that the max sentence is 10 years. The lass now starts to freak out at the prospect of going to jail and the K's rush to her, reassuring Holly that she hasn't been charged yet.
HOLLY: My entire life is ruined.
Karl tries to say she's simply "made a mistake" which she's "working with the police to rectify." Susan backs Karl up by adding in that will "count for something" however the words are of little comfort to Holly who is getting more and more worked up.
Police station
Andrew thinks Wendy is there to talk to him [personally], but she is after information on how to apply for an intervention order since "Quinn violated a serious boundary" and wants to make sure he "never tries anything like that again." After realising that she is serious, Andrew tries to talk her out of getting an intervention order as they have "real life consequences" and "you can't just take one out on some idiot for catfishing you."
WENDY: So, you do believe me then?
"That was never the issue," Andrew replies but pulls Wendy into an empty interview room so they can continue their conversation in private.
Wendy acknowledges how betrayed he must have felt after discovering she was with Quinn all night, and tells him how she spent the whole night thinking of him and was sure that he was going to get "us out of there safely." "I almost didn't," Andrew admits, going on to explain about freezing on hearing her call after Quinn, just as he was about to give the order [for the TSG] to move in.
ANDREW: My boss recognised your voice. I humiliated myself in front of my superior and I jeopardised the lives of every hostage in that building because of you.
WENDY: Yeah, but...I didn't know. I mean it wasn't my fault.
ANDREW: But you have indulged Quinn over our family so many times. You don't need an intervention order. You need to take a good look at yourself.
Number 28
Byron gets jumped on the moment he arrives in the house for not telling Holly the potential [10 year] sentence she is facing. He kept quiet because he doesn't think she'd get that, and after taking advice from his old law buddies, should Holly be charged, she will more than likely to just get community service especially as she doesn't have a criminal record.
Holly is confused over why she can't be "held responsible for Justin's actions" why would "Heath get all the blame for mine?!"
BYRON: It's different! You know it is and a court will too... if you get charged.
Number 24
Jane is doing Sam's hair when Terese calls by - she wants to do prep for a forthcoming meeting with the education board. However, it appears that Terese is just desperate for company as Jane doesn't need her input at the meeting and the paperwork for it has already been submitted! Even an attempt to join in with the papering day falls flat and begrudgingly Terese exits the house.
Ramsay Street
Terese looks very excited when she spots Paul's car pulling into the street - but it's the K's he is there to see not her. He does ask if she is okay and it's a confident yes back... but a rather false one.
Lassiters Complex
Sadie spots her mum hanging around the complex and asks what she is doing. "Waiting," is the reply and that would be for Andrew to come out of the station after finishing his shift, but when he does, he ignores them both and walks in the opposite direction. Wendy rushes after him to show him, better later than never!, that she's blocked Quinn's number on her phone.
Andrew though has had enough of hearing 'I'm sorry' and "that nothing means more to you than me and Sadie" from his wife, even though Wendy does say "it's all true." To Andrew, hearing it continually makes it "mean less and less" every time it's said and he walks off leaving the pair standing at the complex.
Ramsay Street
Paul exits his car and makes is way up the path towards #28.
Number 28
Susan lets Paul in and to Holly's surprise, he's there to thank her for what she did while they were held hostage. She just wants him to get to the bit where she's sacked and is shocked to hear that won't be happening! "Why not?" Holly asks and Paul's reply is he's "hardly in a position to judge anyone for a potential criminal offence." The K's seem rather shocked at this admission and try not to let Paul see their reactions!
PAUL: After everything that you went through with Heath, I now understand why you made the choices you did. So, your job at Lassiters is safe whether you get charged or not.
Holly is so relived at hearing Paul say that and sincerely thanks him. Karl silently thanks him too and Susan rubs Paul's back as a way to show her thanks too before Paul leaves the house.
Number 22
It's the middle of the night and Terese is still up watching mindless television. Eventually she switches it off before going to stretch her legs and while she is at the window, she turns around and spots that her wedding day photos with Toadie are still up.
Moments later, we hear a sobbing Terese and the wedding photos lying smashed on the ground. After throwing another one forcibly to the floor, she totally breaks down crying.
