Warrawee Station
We see pictures of the Outback. Melanie asks if Toadie is managing to get them free. He's trying to work his hands free from the rope.
Warrawee Station / Outside the Station
The Ute pulls up outside the cottage. Heath gets out of the Ute and takes a call from Tess who is driving. He demands his money as Holly clambers out of the Ute. Tess wants to know how Toadie and Melanie are doing. Heath is still demanding his money as Holly moves away from the Ute unseen by Heath.
Toadie is frustrated until he manages to get free of the rope. He frees himself then unties Melanie.
Tess refuses to send the money which angers Heath. He is fed up with Tess being in charge.
HEATH: It ends now Tess.
Toadie wants to find the trainline as he tries to unlock the front door.
Tess refuses to keep going over this with Heath. He thinks he's entitled to the money as he's done the hard graft.
Holly approaches the cottage as Toadie tries to force the back door open. They hear Holly approaching and they call for help. Heath hears voices. Holly gets the door open. Melanie whimpers as they all share a hug. Holly says she's ‘not ok'.
MELANIE: Some guy kidnapped us and put us on a train.
Outside the Station
Holly watches Heath from a distance. She advises Melanie and Toadie to hide in the bushes. Toadie isn't keen but Holly insists she will be ok dealing with Heath.
Holly surprises Heath. She claims to have hidden in the Ute as he spent so much time here by himself. He heard voices before, but Holly denies this. She runs and gets in the Ute as Heath stands there. He says her name and waves the car keys in the air. She gets out of the Ute and runs to the outbuildings. She runs in one direction; he runs to stand in front of her.
HEATH: What are you going to do Holly? Huh?
Holly turns and flees. Heath chases after her as suspenseful music plays. Holly goes into a shed and skirts round another Ute. She goes out of another door and considers climbing up a grain silo. Heath follows her out, she considers running. Heath realises she was talking to Toadie and Melanie. Holly wants to know what's going on. She tells him she is trustworthy.
HOLLY: Let me help you.
HEATH: You can't trust anyone.
Grain silo
She throws a bucket at him and climbs up the grain silo. He follows her up there and she is scared. She tries to reason with him. He apologises to her and pushes her into the corn.
Outside the Station
Toadie and Melanie have lost track of Heath and Holly. Toadie is off to find the trainline.
Grain silo
Holly is scared as Heath watches her. She begs him not to leave. He heads off as she screams to him.
Warrawee Station
Toadie runs through the Outback and back to Melanie. He's going to check on a house he's spotted.
Road Somewhere
Haz and Mackenzie get out of the car. Haz is glad they can see where they're going and discovers the satnav is working. He tells her the Station is 20 minutes off the track. Mackenzie gets a voice message from Andrew. Two Police Officers are on their way to Warrawee from Mount Isa. He doesn't want Haz and Mackenzie to approach Heath before the Police Officers get there. They agree with each other to keep going as anything can happen during that time. They drive off.
Grain silo
Holly is getting more scared. She clambers to the edge and holds on to the tarpaulin.
Warrawee Cottage
Heath isn't pleased Melanie and Toadie have escaped. he finds his rifle and slings it over his shoulder. Melanie watches him walk away from the Cottage and then heads away from the bush herself.

Paul is watching Terese sleeping on the sofa. He gets a text from an unknown number. ‘Five million if you want to see your friends alive. No police or I'll kill them.'
Outback Road
Heath has driven over to meet Tess. She's come over as she knew something was wrong.
TESS: I wanted to assess the situation with my own eyes.
She wants to know why he has Holly's purse. He tells her that he stole it from Holly. Tess realises from the clothes in the bedroom and bags being there that Heath is seeing Holly as well. Heath brushes it off.
HEATH: Forget Holly, Toadie and Melanie. I took care of them.
Tess doesn't know what he's talking about. He just wants to go. She reminds him that he needed to give them food and water and not get hurt. He loses his temper and demands they leave.
TESS: What have you done?

Paul looks at a wedding photo of Toadie and Terese. Andrew knocks at the door and lets himself in, it wakes Terese up. They have got CCTV footage of Tess being at Cairns Airport. She left the Airport this morning, her flight was chartered to Mount Harper. Paul shows Andrew the text message he received. Terese realises that Heath has taken all of them. Andrew can find the location of the text message.
TERESE: How can we be sure they're ok?
Andrew is going to reply as if it's come from Paul and request proof that the three are safe. Paul is willing to pay the money, Andrew doesn't intend to do that but use it to negotiate.
TERESE: Just do what you have to do to bring them back.
Outback
Toadie is going through the Outback. He is pleased to find a tank with a hole in the side. Melanie is trying to find Toadie. She groans as she stumbles and hurts her ankle. She has to sit down and winces in pain as she calls out to Toadie.
Grain Silo
Holly is sinking as she holds onto the tarpaulin. She screams for help.
Outback
Toadie is still wandering. Melanie is trying to find Holly and hears Holly's cries of help. Holly is sinking further and further. Melanie works out from the nearness of her voice where Holly is and climbs the ladder. She grabs a long windy thing from the ground and throws it to Holly to grab hold of. Holly catches it.
Police Interview Room
Karl, Terese, Paul and Andrew are in the room. Andrew can confirm the texts are from Warrawee. Paul has had a message with the bank transfer details but no proof. Andrew decides they've reached the point they call Heath. He will guide Paul what to say.
Police Interview Room / Outback Road
Paul has been set up with a laptop, a phone and a voice recording machine. When Heath picks up, Paul introduces himself. Heath is driving and demands his money. Paul needs time to come up with the money. Paul asks for the proof that Toadie, Melanie and Holly are safe. Heath tells him that they're ok. Paul asks to speak to one of them, Heath doesn't answer. Paul refuses to pay the money if he doesn't know they're safe. Heath promises to get photo proof. Heath turns round and goes back the way he came.
Outside the Station
Haz and Mackenzie know that Holly has left here as the bed has been slept in, but Holly's stuff is still here. She thinks it's strange that Heath's stuff isn't here. Haz decides to wait here.
By the River
Toadie comes to a river and gets a drink. He hears a car and slides into the river. We see crocodiles in the river as Toadie starts swimming. The crocodile seems to be heading in Toadie's direction, so he starts swimming to the opposite bank. He gets out on the other side of the river.
Outside the Station
Andrew is telling Mackenzie and Haz that the ransom message came from the Cattle Station. This means Heath is in the area. Mackenzie realises the other three are here as well. Andrew advises them to go to a safe distance away and wait till the police turn up. He will be in touch.
Mackenzie rings off and Mackenzie worries about Heath holding the others hostage at the location. They spot Holly and Melanie coming towards them as Heath drives in circles around them taunting them. Melanie is whimpering. Heath gets his gun out the back of the car. Haz tells Mackenzie to phone Andrew as he heads over.
Outback
Toadie keeps wandering.
Melanie and Holly are running. Holly thinks they are near the main road. Melanie is worrying about Toadie. Holly thinks they will be ok, Melanie points out Heath has a rifle.
Mackenzie hears banging coming from under the covering at the back of the Ute. She thinks Toadie is in there and goes to help. She is surprised to find Tess in there. Tess is sobbing and apologising. Mackenzie hears a gunshot.
By the River
Heath asks the others not to escape as he wants to negotiate. Melanie and Holly don't hesitate as they think he's untrustworthy. Haz is creeping along out of sight of Heath. Melanie has to stop but wants Holly to continue, Holly refuses. Melanie suggests that she hides whilst Holly finds someone to help them. Holly goes off whilst Melanie finds a place to hide in the undergrowth. Heath starts firing bullets. Haz dodges a bullet.
Holly comes to the river as Heath is firing gunshots. Haz finds Melanie who is wincing in pain. She wants him to concentrate on the others. He tells her to return to the accommodation where Mackenzie is. Melanie starts to head off.
Heath calls out to Holly who starts running. He fires a gunshot as Haz watches. Heath goes down to the river to find Holly. He puts down his rifle and holds his arms up in surrender.
HEATH: I need something from you, ok?
He promises to let Holly leave after this. Holly comes up behind him and pushes him in the river. He isn't impressed and starts swimming. A crocodile approaches. Haz arrives and comforts a distraught Holly as the crocodile attacks Heath.
Melanie is stumbling along when she spies a still Mackenzie on the ground. She sobs as she realises that Mackenzie has been shot in the chest. She checks Mackenzie over and starts sobbing.
Outback
Toadie is still wandering in a delirious state by now. He looks up to the sky and lies down on the train track. He tells himself ‘It's ok'. He has images go through his head of and old tree and a windmill as eerie music plays. He has a flashback of marrying Dee, Steph, Sonya, Melanie and Terese. Then it goes over to him and Dee going over the cliff in the car and Sonya's final moments in his arms. The memories start to fade.
TOADIE: Don't go. Take me with you.
