No 22
Terese marches furiously away from Estelle, who follows, trying to convince her of her good faith.
ESTELLE: When you think about it, Paul used you and now he's using me!
TERESE: Ha! It is *not* quite the same!
ESTELLE: No, obviously you've had it much worse, but I've seen how he manipulated my emotions and tried to buy me off!
Terese grabs Estelle's wrist where the diamond bracelet is.
TERESE: Is that where this came from? So it didn't come from an ex-boyfriend at all, did it? This is a gift from Paul, isn't it?!
ESTELLE: Listen -
TERESE: No! Don't lie to me, Mother! It will only make things worse.
ESTELLE: Okay. It was from him (...) But it was while I was stringing him along to get inside information for you - I had to accept!
TERESE: Why didn't you just tell me that the first time I asked you where it came from?! You know, and you wonder why I don't trust you!
ESTELLE: Please, Terese - it'll never happen again, I promise you!
TERESE: Yeah, well, I've heard that before. And you haven't done one thing to change. And I need to protect myself, so... I need you to leave. I need you to go!
Estelle does as she's told.

It's the day of Hendrix's operation, and he has bought in some food. He is trying to convince Levi to stay for brunch, but he has to go to work.
LEVI: But hey, I'll be thinking about you today, yeah? (...) I'll see you on the other side, brother.
Levi gives Hendrix a hug.
HENDRIX: Yeah, you will. Hey, you're not bad for a copper.
LEVI: And you're not bad for a kid with no socks.
Levi leaves, and Mackenzie asks Hendrix why he's making brunch when he can't eat or drink anything before his operation.
HENDRIX: I'm not making it for me, I'm making it for everyone else.
MACKENZIE: Well, don't push it. We can survive without hash browns.
HENDRIX: I know. I, uh... I just want to be active while I can (...) If I'm gonna be honest, it is pretty weird to think that I'll be losing a vital organ in a few hours. They call 'em vital for a reason.
MACKENZIE: Yeah, of course. Hey, I'm here for you. I'll do anything - just tell me what you need.
HENDRIX: Nothing. It's all good (...) I just want to do what I love for the people I love. Especially you.
MACKENZIE: Okay. Well, how about I give you a hand?
HENDRIX: Won't say no to a sous-chef.

Wendy makes coffee in the kitchen as Andrew talks to Harlow about their sting operation to snare Corey. He gives her a special phone to use to keep in contact with him.
ANDREW: If we're doing this, you need to keep me up to date every step of the way.
Harlow promises that she will, and bids them goodbye. Wendy asks Andrew why the police can't just take Harlow's phone and send messages pretending to be her, as this would be less risky; but Andrew explains that it's more likely to convince Corey if the messages are genuinely in Harlow's words.
ANDREW: I'll make sure she's safe.
Sadie comes in, in uniform for her first day back at Erinsborough High.
ANDREW: The first day of anything is always tough.
WENDY: But we know you will smash it.
ANDREW: Out of the park.
Sadie smiles and Wendy hugs her.

In the garden, Hendrix and Mackenzie serve up brunch for Pierce and Susan - homemade hash browns with avo, organic crème fraîche, and salsa verde with mint, coriander and heirloom tomato.
MACKENZIE: And I apologise in advance for the rustic cutting of the tomato.
HENDRIX: They were meant to be thin slices. Let's just hope my surgeon has more delicate knife skills, hey?
Pierce looks worried.
HENDRIX: Come on! I was being funny.
PIERCE: I'm not sure now's the time, mate.
HENDRIX: We can do this without it being all doom and gloom, can't we? The best way to talk about it is to laugh about it.
PIERCE: Hendrix -
HENDRIX: It's fine, it's fine. Okay, sorry. Enjoy your meal, hey? Wouldn't want the butchered tomatoes getting cold.
Pierce isn't amused.
Harold's Café
Zara is showing Amy a load of second-hand clothes she's bought from the Sonya Foundation. Amy thinks Toadie will be stoked to have her support. Sadie comes in and sits at another table.
AMY: First day back. I hope they're not too mean.
Zara goes over to sit with Sadie, and asks how she's feeling about going back to Erinsborough High.
SADIE: Like I'm about to have a panic attack. But I wanted this, so I can't chicken out now.
ZARA: Maybe it won't be as bad as you think. I'm serious; I mean, everyone knows that Aubrey was the main one behind this.
SADIE: I still went along with her, though.
ZARA: Yeah, but look - Aubrey's gone now, so you can start all over again.
SADIE: There's still gonna be heaps of comments and stares.
ZARA: Well, how about I go with you, then? If they're gonna stare and comment, they might as well do it at both of us.
SADIE: Thanks.
Amy smiles listening to this, proud of Zara.

Glen comes in and calls out for Terese, then getting no answer, takes a bottle of pills from his pocket. However, before he can take one, Terese comes downstairs, forcing him to hide them. She asks how he went at the doctor's; Glen says everything is healing well. Terese tells Glen that she's thrown Estelle out, despite her having begged for forgiveness.
No 26
Estelle is telling a sympathetic Wendy about being thrown out by Terese. Estelle says she feels foolish for being sucked in by Paul, though Wendy tells her not to be so hard on herself; Paul has manipulated half the neighbourhood at some stage judging by what she's heard.
ESTELLE: If it's that common, why can't Terese be more understanding and find it in her heart to forgive me?
WENDY: I'm sure she will; you just have to keep trying.
ESTELLE: I suppose so. She's probably sitting at home regretting everything she said already.
No 22
Terese is still talking to Glen.
TERESE: You know what the weird thing is? I don't feel bad about any of it.
GLEN: You certainly seem calm.
TERESE: Mm. Well, it's a lifetime of disappointment, it's just made me completely exhausted. But that's why I had to draw a line. I refuse to be hurt again.
No 28
Mackenzie, Pierce and Susan are enjoying the brunch, but Pierce is looking very worried. Hendrix volunteers to go and fetch some coffee for everyone from Harold's. Susan queries whether it's necessary as she only made some a little while ago.
HENDRIX: What is this, bush week? Nothing but the best for my family.
Hendrix heads off.
SUSAN: He's full of beans.
MACKENZIE: Do you think that's a good thing?
Pierce puts his head in his hands.
PIERCE: I can't... I can't just do this. I can't just sit here eating brunch. I just want this operation to be over and done with, you know? I just want to know he's gonna be okay.
No 24
Harlow is hanging out with Freya to formulate their messaging plan to snare Corey. Harlow's had a message from Aunt Harriet in London, whom she's filled in on the plan via an email address not connected to her phone.
FREYA: I'm guessing she's worried.
HARLOW: Yeah, she's freaking, actually. She even asked me to move back to London and live with her. She's offering to pay for a flight.
FREYA: Are you tempted?
HARLOW (sighs): I dunno. I just feel like I'd be running and hiding.
FREYA: Well, that would be completely understandable.
HARLOW: ... No, do you know what? I've committed to this. I need to see this through.
Freya kicks things off by sending the first fake message, asking Harlow how she's holding up with everything. The scripted reply is that Harlow is okay, but just can't stop thinking about Corey...
Harold's Café
Zara and Sadie are discussing how things have been going at school, which sounds not to have been as bad as Sadie feared - although she's glad to get out of there for a while. But she thanks Zara for having her back. Hendrix is just leaving with the coffees for brunch back at home.
SADIE: Good luck with the surgery today.
ZARA: Yeah, we'll all be thinking of you.
HENDRIX: Thanks.
SADIE: And we'll see you in two to three weeks - that seems to be the normal hospital recovery time. I've been doing some research about it... but you probably already knew that!
HENDRIX (laughs): Yes. Yeah, I do. But it's nice that you've been looking into it.
Hendrix asks if he can have a quick word with Zara while he's here, so Sadie heads home for lunch.
HENDRIX: I just wanted to check you're okay after what we did yesterday. I can tell you were freaking out a little bit.
ZARA: I was, but it's fine. Seriously, I can't believe you trusted me with it. I mean, after everything.
HENDRIX: It's all in the past, I told you. Remember your promise, though. Yeah?
ZARA: I will.
Hendrix smiles, and leaves. Zara looks worried.
No 24
Levi turns up to see how Freya and Harlow are getting on. Harlow has sown the seeds that will hopefully tempt Corey into getting in touch, by messaging Freya to say that she's worried about him, and conveying a more sympathetic perspective of Prue's involvement in the Restoration Order. Levi is impressed, and says Harlow is brave for doing this.
HARLOW: I just want Corey to be caught and put away.
LEVI: Just make sure you guys don't rush things, yeah? You want to have some space between the sections, cos if the timing looks a bit unnatural, he might get suss.
HARLOW: I just really want him to take the bait right now so this can be all over and done with.
No 22
Toadie is hanging out with Terese, and chatting about Hendrix's operation. Toadie reveals that Hendrix has promised to take him down in a wrestling match once he recovers from the operation, which amuses Terese!
TOADIE: He's dreamin'!
Terese thanks Toadie for his help looking into the mysterious company Paul has been having dealings with, Sapiko & Bazz. Toadie says there's nothing obvious that stands out about it; it's a legitimate, successful company.
TERESE: Well, then, what's Paul doing? What, just investing?
TOADIE: That would make sense why he's trying to hide from you, because he is not meant to be making any new investments while your divorce is getting settled.
TERESE: Yeah, well, he can't help himself. Always getting in on a deal.
TOADIE: Mm. Well, he can't hurt us if we know what he's up to. Don't worry, I'll keep an eye out for ya.
As Toadie and Terese head out back, there's a knock at the door, and Glen comes downstairs to answer it. It's Harlow, here to deliver his latest meds, and he keeps his voice down so Terese and Toadie can't overhear.
GLEN: And sorry for being cranky yesterday. It was a bad day. But feeling much better today.
HARLOW: That's okay. As long as you're not in pain and I'm handling your medication, then everything's under control.
She leaves, and Glen takes the pill she's given him - then pulls another bottle from his pocket and takes a pill from that, too.
No 26
Harlow is reporting back to Andrew. She hasn't heard from Corey yet, but that's to be expected, and he advises her to give it a few days. He reminds her that Corey might not even be tracking her phone at all; Harlow's aware, but says she has a feeling she isn't wasting her time with this.
HARLOW: We're gonna get him.
ANDREW: Just don't pin your hopes on it.
Sadie, who has come in for lunch, overhears some of this conversation with interest. Wendy emerges, and asks why Sadie's home. Her parents are worried to see her, but Sadie insists everything is fine. Wendy takes Sadie into the kitchen to talk about how school is going.
ANDREW: We know this plan is a long shot, but you just need to be ready for the possibility that Corey may never be caught.
The Waterhole
Terese and Glen come in, and find Estelle sitting at a table. Unwilling to talk to her, Terese asks Glen to order the coffees, saying she'll meet him outside, then leaves again. But Estelle takes the opportunity to follow Glen to the bar and get in his ear.
ESTELLE: I thought she would've calmed down by now. Oh, well - I'll talk to her again later. Or tomorrow, when she's had a good night's sleep.
GLEN: I don't think so. She's made it pretty clear to me she doesn't want to be around you anymore.
ESTELLE: But I'm her mother, and I don't have any money or anywhere to live.
GLEN: Well, maybe you could sell that bracelet Paul gave you. That would pay for a bond and some rent. At least till you got a job.
ESTELLE: You just tell her I'm not going anywhere. Not until she forgives me.
Glen looks incredulous as Estelle walks away.
No 28
Mackenzie is talking to Harlow about Hendrix's operation. She admits she's nervous about it, but says she doesn't want to waste energy worrying about things that might not even happen.
MACKENZIE: I've got so much to be positive about right now. My career goals are ticking along, I just married the love of my life, and we're getting an apartment mortgage-free...
Hendrix appears, and Mackenzie tells him they need to leave for hospital soon, before heading outside with a jug of water for the others, leaving Hendrix with Harlow who has just had a message.
HENDRIX: Bad news?
HARLOW: No, no - it's nothing.
HENDRIX: Yeah, right. Looks like someone's shoved a cat in your face!
HARLOW (laughs): The only person who ever has is you.
HENDRIX: Hendrix Greyson, bringing cuteness to the people since 2002!
HARLOW: I just wanted to come by and wish you well for this afternoon.
HENDRIX: Thanks. But back to the text. Come on - burden me, you know I love it.
HARLOW: It's Aunt Harriet. She wants me to move back to London.
HENDRIX: You're thinking about it.
HARLOW: ... Maybe it is time to go home.
HENDRIX: And the fact that you just called it home probably means that it is.
HARLOW: But I can't leave with Corey still on the run.
She explains about the police sting she's involved with, which Hendrix declares is 'boss'.
HENDRIX: So get it done. Catch the guy, make him pay. That's your loose ends tied up. Take the chance to start again. They don't come round often.
HARLOW: Hey. I'll be thinking of you today. With lots of love.
They hug.
Erinsborough Hospital
Hendrix is all gowned up and in a hospital bed; he's to be taken into surgery in ten minutes, Mackenzie tells him. He's deep in thought.
HENDRIX: Sorry, I was just thinking about the Chans. If by some chance I don't make it through this, could you please send them a thank-you note?
MACKENZIE: You can send it to them once you get better.
HENDRIX: I know, but just in case.
MACKENZIE: No, don't. Don't say that.
HENDRIX: I've been trying not to all week. But maybe we should at least admit that there is a chance. A risk.
MACKENZIE: No, no. Not right now. Before they wheel you in, we need positive vibes only - okay? ... Let's take a photo. Hey, this'll be the last time you and your original lungs will be together, okay?
HENDRIX (laughs): Yeah, yeah, okay. Alright. And when I'm an old man, I can look back on those photos and say, 'That was the day I was given a second chance at life.'
They lean in and smile for the selfie.
HENDRIX: Even in this outfit, I still look hot.
They pose for another picture, and Mackenzie kisses Hendrix on the cheek.
No 24
Harlow and Freya have been coordinating messages again, but can't now start on the next section of the plan until tomorrow. Harlow is annoyed at having to wait, but Freya says Levi's right; they need to stagger it so the timing isn't suspicious. Harlow admits she's struggling to think about anything else at the moment.
HARLOW: Honestly, aside from this - which Andrew doesn't even think will work anyway - my life is just a big, fat nothing right now.
FREYA (laughs): That is ridiculous.
HARLOW: Is it? The last guy I cared about, Ned, he left town. I deferred uni. I don't really enjoy working at the hotel either. Maybe I should accept my aunt's offer to go home... Hey, I'm sorry for being a misery-guts.
FREYA: No, not at all.
HARLOW: No, please - if I start complaining again, promise to remind me of something? Of Hendrix. Because I still have what's most important - my health.
FREYA: Yeah. Of course.
Erinsborough Hospital
In the waiting area, Karl has joined Pierce and Susan. Mackenzie comes in and tells them that Hendrix is doing his best to stay positive. Pierce is very worried.
MACKENZIE (to Pierce): You need to stay positive, too.
KARL: Yes, exactly. He's got some of the best surgeons in the country working on him. He's in good hands.
Hendrix is then wheeled through in his bed, and he's happy to see them all.
KARL: Hey, mate.
SUSAN: Hey, we're all here.
KARL: Yep, waiting for you.
MACKENZIE: And when you wake up, I'll be the first person you see.
They hold hands, and she kisses him.
MACKENZIE: I love you.
PIERCE: We all do.
HENDRIX: I love you guys. Even if you are soppy.
SUSAN: We'll see you soon.
But Mackenzie looks apprehensive as Hendrix is wheeled away...
