- Wendy ranting off about the neighbours to Estelle.
- Jane relaying the news that Sadie is having a horrid time at her new school.
- Susan not willing to risk the board's wrath by re- enrolling Sadie.
- Pierce questioning the rushed wedding.
- Pierce telling Mackenzie to lean on the people around her.
- Nicolette telling Kiri that its not too late to make things up with Glen.
- Nicolette in a tizzy trying to make the perfect wedding cake.
- Nicolette and Pierce have a set- to with each other over the wedding cake.
- Pierce uninviting Nicolette to Hendrix's wedding
Kiri overheard the ding- dong between Pierce and Nicolette and wasn't at all impressed at what she said to Pierce, especially in the light of what she said to her about Glen.
KIRI: You're a hypocrite Nicolette.
Susan is running through the ceremony with Mackenzie and Hendrix when Grant arrives. Mackenzie is thrilled to see him and Grant tells Hendrix that he's "a lucky man." She notices the extra bag her dad has with him and he explains it contains his tux for the wedding. The news is then broken to him that Pierce is shouting everyone in the wedding party a new suit!
Andrew is in a bad mood when he comes home - he got an email from Sadie's school informing him that she's failed some of her recent assessments and they want a meeting. Turns out that Sadie deleted the first email the school sent, this is the second one! "I can't focus at that place," Sadie tries to explain to her parents and it has now become Wendy's mission to get Sadie back into EHS!
Out in the backyard Hendrix and Mackenzie runs through more of the 'to do' list, including signing off on the wedding cake Nicolette has made. The pair are thrilled with what she's come up with but seconds later Pierce arrives to announce that he's ordered them a new cake and Nicolette isn't going to the wedding! Hendrix isn't amused at what his dad has done and heads off to talk to Nicolette.
Amy has come up with two butterfly designs to use on Mackenzie's dress and wants her to decide which one to use. "Is this your way of being close to your mum on the day?" Grant asks and then fills Amy in after she asks - when the bullying got tough for Mackenzie, her mum would take her to see the butterflies at the zoo.
Grant pulls Mackenzie aside to question why he's not seen any bills for the wedding. Mackenzie tries to say that due to things happening fast they've not made a budget... then adds that Pierce "has been incredibly generous." However Amy curtails the chat as the wedding dress takes priority!
Nicolette is now ranting to her mum about Kiri due to her overhearing the ding- dong with Pierce and that she's been uninvited to the wedding. Before she gets too far, Chloe arrives to check the cake out and hears there is an issue!
"Oh no," Nicolette says when she sees Hendrix arrive in the café but its good news - he's heard about what has happened but makes it clear they want the cake she is doing. He also re- invites Nicolette to the wedding but she fears its best if she doesn't attend.
NICOLETTE: I will be there in spirit... just make sure its live streamed!
Grant, Mackenzie and Susan sit chatting awaiting Hendrix's arrival. When he arrives, he says Nicolette is now cool to make the cake but isn't coming to the wedding thanks to Pierce.
Grant isn't too amused at Pierce's influence in the wedding although Susan defends him given how much needed to be organised in a week.
There is more bad news for the happy couple - after a text, Hendrix has just been on the phone to the zoo and it appears that he booked the wrong date!
HENDRIX: I thought I booked the zoo for tomorrow but that text was confirming our booking for next year! I got the dates wrong!
"That's disappointing," Grant says but Mackenzie is putting her brave face on and Susan is sure that there will be "other options for the ceremony." "Like where?" is Hendrix's response.
Hendrix is trying to find a new venue for the wedding but it's a no- go for the Lassiters ballroom.
Pierce catches up with his son to apologise for interfering in the wedding plans. He is shocked to hear that Nicolette isn't coming to the wedding and again apologises for how things have blown up. "What can I do to make up for it?" Pierce asks and the reply is "nothing" because Hendrix doesn't need "the hassle right now" before telling his dad about stuffing up the dates with the zoo, so now there is no venue.
HENDRIX: If by some chance we do go ahead, please pull your head in or you won't be coming either!
Karl, Susan, Grant and Mackenzie are trying to figure out an alternative venue for the ceremony when Hendrix comes in to say it's a no for the Lassiters ballroom. "We will sort this out," Grant tries to reassure his daughter with especially as the pair don't want to cancel the wedding either.
We cut away to the bar where Andrew is talking his wife out of going to chat with Susan about getting Sadie back into EHS. Their chat is interrupted when Mackenzie and Hendrix come over to see if they can now do the whole wedding at The Waterhole, not just the reception. Wendy is sure they can accommodate things somehow for them.
Kiri stops by to chat to Chloe about Nicolette. Chloe tries to reassure Kiri into not paying too much attention into what Nicolette said to Pierce, "she's always trying to get a rise." She does add though that Nicolette has been beating herself up since the ding- dong and has taken on board what Kiri said to her too. "I don't understand the two sides to her," Kiri admits but Chloe has an explanation - Nicolette is "loyal to a fault but when she loses it, duck!"
KIRI: The two of you are just so different. I couldn't even imagine you together. Was it hard dealing with all the drama?
CHLOE: Yes, sometimes. But the good really does outweigh the bad... and I can tell you from experience, Pierce wouldn't have been faultless.
Grant is sitting in the rear outdoor space when Pierce stops to chat about the wedding woes and hears that a new venue has been found.
"It's just not right, them not getting the day they want after everything they've been though," Grant laments and Pierce is thinking of how he can make things up to them. "Don't you think you've done enough?!" Grant remarks and is reminded of "people in glass houses!" Pierce decides that he wants to shout the pair their honeymoon... to the Amazon!
GRANT: Yeah, yeah, yeah, flash the cash and everything's all good!
PIERCE: Well I don't see you coming up with anything better!
Heading inside to the café, through gritted teeth, Pierce apologises to Nicolette! Likewise, also through gritted teeth, Nicolette apologises back to him. With a promise to behave, Pierce asks that Nicolette re- considers her decision to not attend the wedding.
After hearing their 'pitch', Susan gives the Rodwell's the bad news that unless they have a compelling reason her hands are tied on getting Sadie back into EHS. Sadie makes an emotional plea to Susan and a promise that she wouldn't waste a second chance.
"That's the best news we've heard all day," Mackenzie declares after Nicolette says she is now coming to their wedding. Jane is also happy at the truce she and Pierce have made, with Hendrix adding in that he's pleased at what his dad did.
Kiri enters the café and pulls Nicolette aside for a chat. She apologises for reading "too much into what happened." "That's okay," Nicolette replies back and with things resolved between the pair, Kiri heads off.
Nicolette heads back to where Jane is sitting and tells her about Kiri's apology and that a "huge weight" has been lifted off her shoulders. While happy at seeing her daughter happy, Jane does add that she wishes "your mood wasn't so influenced by her." "I can't help it mum," Nicolette replies back in her defence!
Jane heads over to where Mackenzie and Hendrix are sitting to ask a "huge favour."
Over pre- wedding drinks, Mackenzie and Hendrix confirm to their respective dads and Susan that The Waterhole is now confirmed as the venue for the whole wedding.
MACKENZIE: It's not about the place, its about the people.
Pierce then tells them about the honeymoon he's booked - to the Amazon. "That is way too generous," Mackenzie replies back while Hendrix goes off to take a call. When he returns, there is another change in wedding plans - the zoo has managed to fit them into the Japanese garden with photos in the butterfly house afterwards.
Susan and Pierce looked thrilled on hearing the news. The pair also turn down Pierce's honeymoon offer.
MACKENZIE: We have our dream. We don't need anything else.
Pierce takes the news very well and calls them "incredibly lucky" because there's "no way anyone could have wrangled that, not even me!"
Mackenzie and Hendrix call round to tell Wendy (Sadie and Andrew are there too) they don't need The Waterhole for the wedding ceremony now, the zoo came through for them. As a thanks for helping out today, they invite the family to the ceremony. "We accept," Andrew says on behalf of the family.
Before they leave, Wendy gives Mackenzie a trinket as part of the something blue... etc. for the wedding. "That is so generous of you," Mackenzie says after accepting the gift.
Mackenzie and Hendrix are puzzled why Grant and Pierce are arguing with one another when they come from outside into the house. "Its nothing for you to worry about," Pierce says to calm the situation.
GRANT: Look, I fixed the issue at the zoo. I called them and explained what it meant to you guys and they said they'd do whatever they could to fit you in. And now this guy wants to upstage that. Huh?! He's still hanging onto this huge expensive honeymoon that you guys don't even want.
MACKENZIE: Dad, you should have told us you called the zoo.
GRANT: Well, I'm not flashy. I just wanted to do something to make you happy, not make me look good. And what do I get eh?! This guy and his cheque book trying to win you over with some grand gesture and make me look like I'm nothing again!
Pierce describes Grant's allegations as "ridiculous" and the pair go to verbally square up to one another until Mackenzie intervenes and asks them to stop. On hearing that, Grant says "he's done" and exits the house. Pierce calls that action "childish" as Mackenzie follows her dad out the house and the commotion has even got Susan through from her bedroom.
"I wasn't trying to upset him, I was just trying to help," Pierce begins with then tells Susan about Grant being the one to get the booking at the zoo and he was keeping the honeymoon option open.
PIERCE: He thought I was trying to upstage him.
HENDRIX: I know you meant well but look at the mess you've caused... again.
