The Penthouse
In Paul's bedroom, Terese and Paul take a pause from their pashing.
PAUL: That wasn't just for old time's sake, was it? You're scared.
TERESE: Yeah.
PAUL: Terese, just tell me what you want, and I'll do it. I want another chance, please. I know I've said that so many times before.
TERESE: What, and this will be different?
PAUL: Oh, just... I can't risk losing you again.
TERESE: No, you'd better not. Because this is your absolute last chance.
PAUL: So this is it? We are back together?
Terese smiles at him. Paul is keen to consummate this renewal of their coupledom, but Terese tells him no - he needs to rest. Paul says he is feeling a bit woozy.
PAUL: Maybe I have got a fever. Or maybe it's just happy delirium.
They kiss again, and Terese goes to fetch his painkillers.

Nicolette and Aaron are cooking, while David sits nearby, and Jane is on the sofa with Abigail. Nicolette teases Aaron for having the bright idea of making pasta from scratch, and he rewards her by dumping a pile of spaghetti on her head! She grabs a handful of pasta herself and flings it in his direction, until Jane smilingly tells them to set a good example for Abigail.
Leo comes in, looking glum. David asks him how the fishing trip went, but Leo says it's not really his thing. They offer him some pasta, but Leo declines. Jane says they were just about to put Abigail to bed, and gets up to hand her to Leo. He looks very anxious as he takes her. Abigail starts fussing, so Leo quickly hands her back to Jane, saying he doesn't want to rev her up before bed, before leaving the room.
Everyone looks worried; and David follows Leo into the sunroom, where he's gone to check his emails.
DAVID: We're all worried about you, Leo. We know the last month has been a lot.
LEO: Yeah. It has.
DAVID: And we don't want to put any pressure on you, but it feels to everyone like after the accident last week, you're doing anything you can to avoid any time with Abigail.
LEO: You offered to help. You all said I was being too clingy.
DAVID: Yeah, but now it's gone completely the other way. Maybe if I knew what was going on inside your head, I'd understand better. Because Aaron and I, we just want to help.
LEO: Well, if you want to help, then stop being so tough about it!
DAVID: Abigail still needs you. She's just a baby.
LEO: Look, David, I can't do this right now, okay? You're, like, the fourth person to give me a lecture today (...) If you want to be supportive, then stop pushing me to do something I can't do! I've got work to do.
David reluctantly leaves him to it.
The Penthouse
Terese is taking Paul's temperature, and reports that it's come down.
PAUL (flirting): Well, if you want it raised again, you know what to do?
TERESE (laughing): Stop it!
As they go in for another kiss, Harlow enters the room, and they draw apart. Paul has something to tell Harlow, and she's worried it's bad news about his health, but...
PAUL: We are officially back together.
HARLOW: Are you serious?
PAUL (to Terese): Are we?
TERESE: Mm-hm, we are!
Harlow squeals with delight, and leaps onto the bed with them to give them a massive hug!
HARLOW: Oh, this is the best news!

David and Aaron are tidying up. Aaron thinks they should talk to Leo again later, but David thinks Leo won't appreciate it, and that they should give it a rest for today. Leo comes in, and apologises for losing his temper with David earlier; for his part, David apologises for putting pressure on Leo.
LEO: I know what I'm doing. I can hear myself when I'm making excuses not to spend time with Abi. But I can't help myself. The sound of her screaming when she fell... I don't think I'll ever be able to get it out of my head.
AARON: Leo, we understand that. But do you really think leaving your own daughter is the right way to go about it?
LEO: It's not a long-term solution. And I know it's a burden on you guys; I'm sorry. But Toadie said if I need help, I should ask for it. And right now, I just need some time apart from Abi. I just don't trust myself around her. And I don't want to let Britney down again by hurting our daughter.
DAVID: Okay... well, how about this? Until you feel ready to be alone with Abigail, any time you're with her, one of us is, too.
AARON: Look, I think that's a great idea. That way she gets you, and you can get us.
DAVID: You'll have to get back to normal eventually. But we can help, until you get your confidence back.
The Waterhole
Nicolette and Jane are having a drink. Nicolette has had a message from David, saying there's been a breakthrough with Leo, which they're both relieved about. Nicolette hopes it sticks, for Abigail's sake.
Meanwhile at another table, Mackenzie is filling in Hendrix on recent events at No 30.
MACKENZIE: You should see the sass on display. It is out of control.
HENDRIX: Zara is sixteen.
MACKENZIE: No, I'm talking about Nell! Who I'm pretty sure wants to change her name to Zara Junior.
HENDRIX: Oh, she's turning into a mini-me?
MACKENZIE: Mm-hm! And every time she follows Zara around and parrots her, I can see that Toadie is on the brink of an aneurysm.
Harlow turns up, still excited, and informs Hendrix and Mackenzie that Paul and Terese are back together. It's loud enough that Jane and Nicolette hear, and look displeased!
HENDRIX (to Harlow): Genuine question - is there any chance that Terese has been drugged?
HARLOW: Not funny, and no, okay? Terese is gonna give him a chance, and he needs to prove himself, but I know he will.
Mackenzie says she's happy for Harlow, and for Paul and Terese.
NICOLETTE (to Jane): I can't believe Terese is doing it to herself again.
JANE: The heart wants what the heart wants, I suppose.
NICOLETTE: Mum, you have to say something to her.
JANE: Like what?
NICOLETTE: That she shouldn't do it, obviously!
JANE: I've already said my piece. If Terese wants Paul, that's her decision.
Nicolette looks annoyed.

The next day, Glen is putting his sock on; we can see the tattoo of the moon on his foot that Ned has done for him. Nicolette turns up, claiming to be looking for Ned to talk to him about going back to work. Glen explains Ned's at the shops, but Nicolette takes the opportunity to stir.
NICOLETTE: You're probably busy, packing to get out of here?
GLEN: Why would I be doing that?
NICOLETTE: Because Paul's moving back in? ... You haven't heard.
GLEN: Heard what?
NICOLETTE: They're getting back together. I know; I'm as surprised as you are. I can't believe Terese is doing it to herself again.
Nicolette suggests Glen should call Terese.
NICOLETTE: Friends don't let friends ruin their lives by hitching themselves to Paul Robinson.
Glen looks horrified as Nicolette leaves.
Harold's Café
Aaron is with Leo, telling him about a picnic that's been arranged with David, Nicolette and Jane, seemingly as a way of Leo spending some time with Abigail while in the others' company.
AARON: Like I said last night, we're gonna be with you every step of the way.
Chloe comes in, admiring Isla and Abigail who are in their prams.
CHLOE: Oh, look at these two beauties!
AARON: I know. How about the babies, though, huh?
CHLOE: You know, it is possible to be a dad and not make a dad joke.
AARON: It's not! That's just who I am now!
Chloe asks Leo how he is, and then apologises for asking a stupid question. Leo says he's fine, and Aaron invites Chloe to join them for the picnic. She's not keen, visibly feeling that she'd be intruding - but Leo tells her to come along, as it would be fun. She agrees, but has to head to the office first, so tells them she'll meet them later. Chloe leaves, and Leo looks a bit wistful as he watches her go.
The Penthouse
Terese and Harlow are discussing what a good job Chloe's been doing looking after the hotel. Terese adds that Harlow has been an excellent support for her.
HARLOW: Using my powers for good and not evil. Who would've thought?
Glen walks in, and both Harlow and Terese turn frosty.
GLEN: I hear congratulations are in order.
TERESE: News travels fast.
GLEN: Yeah. Is Paul awake? Can I pop in and say hello?
TERESE (sighs): Is that all you're planning on saying?
GLEN: I didn't come here to pick a fight with him, *or* you. You can both make your own choice about your relationship. I just want to check in on my brother, see how he's doing.
Harlow says a quick visit won't hurt, and Terese reluctantly agrees, but tells Glen, '... but no trouble.'
Glen goes into Paul's bedroom.
PAUL: What do you want?
GLEN: Can't I just drop by and say hello?
PAUL: Hello (!) Now what?
GLEN: Well, how are you? You don't look crash hot.
PAUL: Thanks very much for your diagnosis (!)
GLEN: Getting Terese back must be a bright spot, though.
PAUL (smug): Oh, so you heard.
GLEN: Congratulations.
PAUL: Thank you.
GLEN: I hope you're gonna treat her right this time.
PAUL: You know, you do not have to be her protector.
GLEN: That's good. That means you're not gonna lie to her anymore.
PAUL: Alright, you can go now.
GLEN: Hey, there's no need to get your back up.
PAUL: Glen, I don't need you coming in here and questioning me.
GLEN: Why do you find it so hard to just say you're going to treat her properly this time? No more lies, no more deceit?
PAUL: I'm not saying it, because it's none of your damn business. Now, I think I've had enough of this visit. Goodbye.
Glen smiles sharkishly at Paul, then leaves without another word.
Erinsborough Hospital
Clive catches up with Karl, and asks him if there's any chance Paul's right about his diagnosis having missed something. Karl insists he can't explain the pain Paul's been having; his scans are clear and blood tests normal, and he's triple-checked everything. But Clive's worried that if a specialist comes to a different conclusion, Paul might try to sue the hospital. David turns up, and Clive asks him if he'd be prepared to read Karl's notes on Paul and offer a second opinion. David agrees, and heads off again.
CLIVE: Sorry, I didn't mean to put you on the spot.
KARL: No, no, I can see what you're doing.
CLIVE: I mean, surely if his own son can't find something wrong, that will put him in a more forgiving frame of mind.
KARL: Yeah, well - let's hope so...
Rippon Lea Estate
At the picnic, Aaron is singing 'Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush' to entertain the babies. However Leo informs him that this song is 'about women in prison'.
LEO: You're entertaining our daughters with a song about female incarceration.
AARON: Really?! Well, why would they make it so cute?
Abigail needs a nappy change, and Aaron is about to take care of it, but Leo steps up, saying he's got it.
AARON: I am not gonna fight you on that.
Aaron gets a text, and goes to meet Nicolette and Jane who have just arrived. Leo says he'll be fine alone with Abigail for a minute - but as Aaron walks off, Abigail begins to wail uncontrollably. Leo picks her up and tries to comfort her, but she keeps screaming. Aaron comes back over, by which time Leo is all shaken up, and passes Abigail back to Aaron, just as Jane and Nicolette arrive. Visibly upset, Leo asks if Aaron would mind changing Abigail after all. Aaron says that's fine, but everyone looks worried.
The Penthouse
Clive has called round to see Paul with a list of private specialists he'd recommend consulting over his medical treatment. Clearly still worried about a potential lawsuit, Clive says they want to see Paul getting better. Terese thanks him, and Clive asks if Paul wants him to talk through the list.
PAUL: There's no need. No, I've actually got an appointment with a specialist. He should be here shortly.
CLIVE: (...) Can I ask who you're seeing?
PAUL: Yeah. Oscar Russell.
CLIVE: Right. I... I know the name. I've never met him personally.
Paul says Dr Russell has been the subject of some 'excellent patient reviews'; and at that point, Dr Russell himself arrives in the lift. Terese invites him in, and introduces him to Paul. Clive introduces himself to Dr Russell too as head of the hospital, telling him to reach out if he needs anything. Terese goes to get lunch on, and shows Clive out. Paul invites Dr Russell to sit down.
Rippon Lea Estate
Chloe has turned up to join the picnic, and finds Leo in a gazebo looking pensive.
CHLOE: Hey. Am I making it better or worse by being here? ... I really don't want to leave you when you're like this, so... I hope it's the first option.
LEO: I just... I feel like I'm failing at everything.
CHLOE: You're not.
She sits down with him.
CHLOE: You're holding it together. You're getting through things.
LEO: Oh, barely.
CHLOE: Do you want me to keep talking? I can just sit here and say nothing if you prefer.
LEO: I think I just need some time.
So Chloe just sits.
Erinsborough Hospital
Susan has turned up to moan at Karl for having stood her up for their lunch date. Karl admits he forgot, explaining it's because of the 'question mark over our favourite patient'. David comes in, followed by Clive, and Karl asks if David's managed to look at Paul's notes. David agrees with all Karl's assessments, saying there's nothing untoward in Paul's scans or blood tests.
KARL: Well, that's a relief. Doesn't help Paul, though, does it?
SUSAN: Look at the three of you, all stumped over the mysterious case of Paul Robinson.
DAVID: Guess we'll have to wait and see what this specialist brings to light.
The Penthouse
The reason for said stumped-ness, of course, is that Paul is faking his illness, and Dr Russell is shonky as.
PAUL: So, where do we go with all this, then? I've been told you're the man with all the answers.
DR RUSSELL: Well, I can be for the right price.
PAUL: Yeah, look, I don't want it to be anything too drastic. I just... you know, I need to be sick for a few more weeks. And it's got to be believable, alright? Because my wife is a very, very smart woman. And I can't risk her seeing through this.
DR RUSSELL: Well, normally it's about insurance payments, but...
PAUL: It's a little bit more complicated in this case.
DR RUSSELL: I see. Well, I'll look these over, and come up with a diagnosis that suits you.
Terese comes in, and asks whether Dr Russell has got to the bottom of Paul's illness yet. He says not, but that he will.
PAUL: Dr Russell has been very thorough; clearly, we're both on the same page. (to Dr Russell) I can't tell you what a relief it is having you on board.
Terese echoes these sentiments, and Dr Russell leaves. Terese goes to finish sorting out lunch. Paul smirks.
Rippon Lea Estate
Jane and Nicolette are wandering through the gardens. Jane wonders whether Glen has spoken to Terese about her decision to get back with Paul. Nicolette is sure Glen will have an opinion, but Jane says it's no more his business than it is hers.
JANE: I'm sure Terese wouldn't be too happy about people telling her that she's made a mistake.
NICOLETTE: Yeah, because she knows they're right.
They arrive back at the picnic site, where David has now turned up and is having a mini-dispute with Aaron about whether Isla needs her sun-hat on.
DAVID: It doesn't matter what the UV is. We're a SunSmart family.
AARON: Ah, yeah, you're right. I'm as bright as the sun, and you're the boring smarts. (to Isla) Isn't that right?
Chloe and Leo rejoin the group so the picnic can get underway; Chloe asks Leo if he's ready, and he confirms he is.
LEO: Before we get started, there's something I want to say. I can't keep having meltdowns every time Abigail needs me.
AARON: Leo, she was crying for, like, ten seconds. You would've figured it out on your own. It's all good.
LEO: No, it really isn't, though. You know, I never planned on being a dad, and... I've just been thrown in at the deep end. Look, I want what's best for Abigail, and she deserves the life her mum wanted for her. And I know she'll have that if you two take over as her dads. Permanently.
Everyone looks shocked.
