Number 32
Nicolette is still getting offensive messages from Ricardo and her housemates strongly urge her to go to the police, but she wants more of them to come, to help her case against him. However when David reads out one of them ('I'm going to make you pay, I know where you live') Chloe decides enough is enough, she's taking Nicolette to the police station!
Terese's office
Toadie is round to thank Terese and Paul (on behalf of Lassiters) for their assistance with the fundraiser - they've raised enough to cover the $50k deficit and get more money in the kitty on top!
Harold's café
Nicolette shouts Chloe to a bottle of water as thanks for making her go to the police station and report what has been happening. She is confident though that Ricardo would have done nothing, but if he had, she was prepared...
NICOLETTE: Men have all their sensitive bits on the outside just waiting to be kicked!
Lassiters Park
Sheila and Jane literally run into each other in the park and once Jane has put all the stuff back in her bag... minus the key to Clive's place (she's being entrusted to look after his prized plant called Herbert while he is in New Zealand) they exchange pleasantries with one another.
The Waterhole
Toadie arrives for his latest date... who is none other than Melanie Pearson! He looks very alarmed on seeing her as she's told a few porkies in her Tinder profile and then tries not to freak out when she goes on about Madam Zolga and her therapist!
Harold's café
After Nicolette gets a call from the police, she is most relieved that Chloe made her go to the police now - they have confirmed Ricardo is in Melbourne (his office didn't know why that was) and they are going to send round some officers to have a word with him. "You never needed to go through this alone," Chloe reminds Nicolette and after hearing that Nicolette doesn't like asking for help, she's adamant that is something that needs changing!
NICOLETTE: Add that to the list alongside making better choices, trusting the right people. Of course being less self-centred and manipulative.
Chloe apologises for having a go at her, including bringing up Pierce's accusations especially given his "lying and cheating," she adds. "So, friendship saved?" Nicolette asks and the reply is yes but Chloe has a condition that needs meeting - no more lies and honesty! A very nervous Nicolette replies that there is something she needs to tell Chloe...
Number 32
Jane is hunting in the backyard of #32 trying to find the key to Clive's place when she gets that feeling again that someone is watching her. She does though jump when Aaron and David come out of the house and, after hearing about her predicament, wonder if Sheila has a key. Jane however is somewhat reluctant to go find out, so Aaron tells her to "do it for Herbert!" to try and get her to go over to see Sheila.
Just as the scene is ending, we can tell that someone is watching proceedings from the Doug Out.
Harold's café
"How could you be so cruel?!" Chloe asks after hearing Nicolette confirm all that she did to ensure that Chloe caught Dipi and Pierce together. "You wouldn't have believed me if I'd told you," Nicolette replies especially given Chloe was already peeved at her for how she was with Pierce and feared it she said anything, she wouldn't be believed.
Chloe is having a hard time getting her head round what Nicolette did, especially as she "stood there while I cried on your shoulder" and "acted shocked!" "I was!" Nicolette protests, adding that she still can't believe how Pierce treated Chloe.
NICOLETTE: I was being your friend!
CHLOE: I don't think you know what being a friend is! All those times Pierce warned me, I should have listened!
NICOLETTE: Pierce is the one that was cheating!
CHLOE: And you made sure I found out in the most brutal, humiliating, awful way possible!
Nicolette goes to apologise but Chloe has had enough and rushes to get away from her.
The Waterhole
Toadie is about to do a polite runner away from Melanie and their date... that is until she mentions the recent lip synch event and that she made a donation to the Foundation. As they chat about the event, there is a bit that is funny (taking about Karl's daggy dancing) and Melanie stops herself from fully laughing and Toadie asks why.
MELANIE: My laugh, it's a bit... well the politest descriptor I've had of it is unique!
Toadie makes it his mission to get her to laugh and with the aid of a joke, she instinctively laughs, giving it the full on version and Toadie sits there wishing he'd not taken on the challenge!
Number 26
Sheila is very surprised to see Jane and from the garbled words that come out of her mouth when she enters the house, probably wishes she hadn't answered the door! Eventually, the words become coherent and Sheila is shocked that Jane has come to her about something to do with Clive... however Jane can't get the words out on the favour she is after from Sheila and instead hurriedly exits the house!
Number 32
Nicolette has come clean with the boys too, but unlike Chloe, they seem to be on Nicolette's side. The chat is interrupted when Chloe arrives home and informs them that she is now heading to Adelaide (she's booked a flight for the afternoon). She also adds "that this living situation won't work for me anymore," and plans on moving into #24 when she returns. In a final monotone message to Aaron, she notifies him that she is having work done on the house and has given the builder his contact details. "There's no need for sudden decisions," Aaron says to her but her mind isn't for changing.
Harold's café
Jane is still hunting high and low for the missing key, but Paul (and Terese) come to her rescue when they hand over the missing key - someone handed it into the Lassiters reception.
Number 32
Having finished her packing, Chloe returns to the kitchen to talk to the boys, but when she spots Nicolette at the far side, she literally stands by the door about as far away as she can get. David hopes that the time away helps clear her mind and when she returns it's to #32 and not #24. "My minds made up," she immediately replies back.
Nicolette tries one last attempt at getting Chloe to see that knowing what Pierce was doing, she was in "an impossible position."
CHLOE: You set a trap and then made me walk into it. I thought this whole mess was behind me and you've somehow made the memory even worse. It's like I'm walking into that hotel room all over again.
Thankfully for Chloe, she gets a notification that her ride has arrive and thus can't get out of the house quick enough!
The Waterhole
Melanie and Toadie seem to be getting on like a house on fire...complete with the distinctive laughter, which Paul picks up on when he and Terese enter the pub.
PAUL: Not again... please!
Terese sees where the laughter was coming from and deduces that she is Toadie's date. Given Paul seems to know her, she wants details. He agrees... as long as they leave the bar now!
"Its been memorable," is how Toadie is describing the date when Melanie announces that she needs to go. When she does leave, he looks to be cherishing the peace and quiet and doesn't look too amused when Melanie sends him a text saying she will see him soon!
Number 26
Sheila is bemused by a package that has just arrived for her, but a knock at the door has her putting the package down unopened. "Can't stay away," Sheila comments on opening the door and finding that her visitor is Jane. Jane is round to thank Sheila for the key that arrived via Paul and knows it came from her because on searching the area again, she found the original missing key! After hearing how Sheila did the maths and worked out what Jane was after when she called around originally, Jane remarks that "it really was rather classy of you."
SHEILA: Not a word I would use for my recent behaviour.
JANE: I'm beyond grateful.
Jane offers Sheila the opportunity to return the key herself to Clive, but she quickly replies that she's "got no use for it," and adds that the key is Jane's now. "Thank you," Jane sincerely replies and an equally sincere "your welcome" is said by Sheila in return.
Terese's office
"You really are encourageable," Terese tells her husband after he's gotten Toadie to the office on a false pretence. Toadie isn't to amused to find he's been mucked about and Paul eventually says he wants to know what Toadie thinks of Melanie. "How do you know her?" he asks and Paul explains that she was his PA back in the day "and she is pretty full on!"
PAUL: Can't think of a more excruciating lunch date!
Terese points out that he has his moments too before Toadie agrees with Paul's deductions about Melanie being "full on" but adds that she is also "very genuine" and an "interesting person."
PAUL: Yes, who's got over a decade on you!
TOADIE: Well you two seem to make the age gap work!
TERESE: Touché!
Paul checks if Toadie plans on seeing Melanie again and his reply is that he might... but adds that if he does, it's none of Paul's business!
Number 32
As the remaining #32 residents sit round the table outside, Jane, while not exactly thrilled with her daughter, at least seems relieved that there are no more secrets. When the boys question why she did it, Nicolette explains that since Chloe was giving her a clean slate, she "wanted it to be real."
AARON: Now can you tell us, is there anything else we need to know?
NICOLETTE: No. No more secrets I promise!
Just at that, everyone hears a noise coming from the Doug Out. Jane tells the others she thought she was "going mad feeling someone was watching me." Nicolette immediately worries that it is Ricardo, and while the ladies head inside to call the police, the boys head over to the Doug Out to investigate. However before Aaron can enter the Doug Out, someone rushes out - Brent!
