The Waterhole
We carry on following the end of the previous episode with Dipi and Amy squaring up to each other. "Have I made myself clear?!" Dipi demands Amy and she confirms that the message is understood. However, when Amy tries to explain herself over what she said to Jay, the the pair end up squabbling again until Toadie is forced to step in and stop them. Before she leaves the bar, Dipi gives Amy a final warning...
DIPI: Leave my family alone!
Number 30
Shane is trying to have a stern talk with Jay over the decision that he is staying in Erinsborough, when Amy ignores what Dipi said and walks into the house! She demands to know from Jay why his mum thinks that she'd told him to "jump on a plane to Sydney?" "I did what you said, taking responsibility for what I did," he replies and Amy fills Shane in on Dipi going off. While acknowledging her intentions, Shane adds that it is a family matter and the pair of them "at each other's throats" is only going to make things harder for him and agrees with Amy that an apology might help.
Mackenzie and Jay retreated to the sunroom when things were starting to get heavy between Shane and Amy. She wants to know what he said to his parents.
Number 22
Harlow isn't too keen on going to bed, fearful that she is going to feel as if she is locked up again. She rejects the offer of being excused from the lip synch event, telling Paul and Terese that it will help take her mind off things. Paul is itching to be the one to tell Hendrix that he is no longer the co-host but Harlow is undecided about whether to cut him out of her life just yet.
Number 28
Sitting alone watching the television, Karl texts Hendrix to tell him that he'd better be home when they return tomorrow!
Number 30
Amy is round for a planning session for the lip synch event when Dipi arrives in the house literally seconds later. Toad explains the situation and invites her to stay, but she opts to leave, however before she does, Amy takes the opportunity to apologise for their "misunderstanding." Dipi doesn't look too impressed at the use of 'misunderstanding' but after a moments pause, accepts the apology and goes to leave the house... however she overhears Amy volunteering to go twice at the lip synch event, she volunteers her services instead, especially since "I love the stage and Sonya's my sister in law."
Harold's café (next day)
Mackenzie is trying to convince Jay to come fully clean to his parents but the lad doesn't want to, however she takes the bull by the horns and forces him when she spots Shane hobbling into the café.
Number 28
Hendrix is getting a full on tongue lashing from Karl and Susan over what happened when they were away. He tries to escape to go see Harlow, about the lip synch event, but they refuse to let him leave the house!
Harold's café
Jay finishes coming clean to his parents and they wish that he'd told them earlier so that they could have helped the lad. Dipi remarks on things now adding up, when stuff start to go wrong for Jay.
JAY: So now you understand why I want to go back to Sydney. I want to finish my final year being who I really am. It would mean a lot.
Mackenzie and Jay head to order some food to allow his parents to talk in private. Both seem shell-shocked in the aftermath of what the lad said to them. "What do we do now?" Shane asks and Dipi replies that she "doesn't know."
The pair are still trying to work that out when Amy swans into the café and joins their table, beginning to tell Shane all about the uniforms arriving. Given he has other things on his mind, he's not as happy as she is and so is force to tell her that they are in the middle of some family stuff to get her to leave.
MACKENZIE: She just can't read a room can she?!
Number 22
Somehow Hendrix has managed to escape from #28 and turns up on the doorstep of #22. However, he'd have been better to have not bothered as Harlow makes it clear she isn't ready to speak to him. His day then gets worse when Terese comes to the front door to inform him that he won't be co-hosting with Harlow. Hendrix takes the news calmly and heads off.
While Harlow thanks Terese for stepping in, she is annoyed at Hendrix coming over and disrespecting the boundaries.
HARLOW: It's hard and I really do care about him.
TERESE: Look, I understand what its like to be drawn to guys like Hendrix. They're unpredictable, they're exciting, but those relationships aren't easy - you might be constantly let down and disappointed and asked to forgive. Is that something you really want? Long term?
Number 28
Karl reports to Susan that Hendrix has escaped after coming back from checking the bedroom. She asks Karl's advice on whether to suggest to Hendrix that he repeats Year 12, either wholly or the subjects that he did badly in. Karl seems to like her suggestion, especially as it means she can keep an eye on him.
Just at that, Hendrix arrives home, confirming he was at #22, adding that Harlow didn't want to see him and Terese sacked him from the lip synch event.
HENDRIX: So everything is awesome!
The K's then tell Hendrix of their idea that he goes back to school and his reaction is "no way am I doing that!" His main objection is the thought that his uni student girlfriend wouldn't want a bar of him if he repeats, which Susan tries to say shouldn't factor in at all. But it's the end of discussion as far as Hendrix is concerned, he isn't repeating!
Number 30
Jay is told by his parents that they want to discuss more between themselves his request before giving him an answer.
Dipi doesn't look too impressed at trading places with the newly arrived Amy but doesn't say anything although she does somewhat stall in leaving the house to put some lippy on! Shane apologises to Amy for giving her the brush off earlier, adding that he is pleased at the news about the uniforms.
Mackenzie isn't happy that Amy seems to be appearing every time there is a family discussion. Jay thinks that she isn't doing it deliberately and Mackenzie comes clean over why she is annoyed - she wants Shane and Dipi to get back together, which won't happen if Amy is around and keeps butting in.
Number 22
Susan calls round to get from Harlow how things got so bad for Hendrix. Harlow admits she'd no idea how much trouble Hendrix was in until just before she got kidnapped. This seems to shock Susan and she apologises to the lass for being on the end of Hendrix's bad decisions. "It's okay," she replies, which doesn't impress Susan as the lad needs to "understand that it's not okay!" After Harlow asks how Hendrix is, Susan admits he is "struggling" not helped by him thinking about what he's done to her.
HARLOW: I just really don't want to be the reason he messes up even more.
SUSAN: No Harlow, this is not your problem. Hendrix needs to learn to deal with these things himself. Karl and I are there to help him, we made that promise to Pierce. If you need to take some time to look after yourself, then please take it. We'll make sure that he's okay.
Terese's office
Karl has called in to have a chat with Terese and Paul about Hendrix and agrees with their decision to strip the lad as the co-host of the lip synch event. He isn't too happy though at hearing Hendrix is banned from even watching the event and that they want him as far away from Harlow as possible! "He needs support too," Karl points out but as far as Paul is concerned, "the boy needs is to stop feeling sorry for himself and to start being accountable for the decisions that he makes." Karl is sure the lad knows that, but Paul doesn't as Hendrix "seems to make one stupid mistake after another" which ultimately led to Harlow being abducted.
KARL: He's going to regret that for a long time.
PAUL: Good! Longer than he's with Harlow I hope! Oh yes, with a bit of luck, this relationship is on its last legs.
Number 22
Satisfied that Harlow's uniform fits correctly, Amy heads off to allow Mackenzie to chat with her friend. She wastes no time in ranting off about Amy and her drama interfering with Shane and Dipi. Mackenzie does though admit to liking the new uniforms, and is all ears when Harlow mentions the uniform copyright saga.
Number 30
Mackenzie is doing more digging on Amy and the copyright breech as she plans on making a call (to Hawke Airline HR) to find out what else Amy has potentially done.
Pretending to be 'Janey Hardy' the PA to Tim Collins, Mackenzie calls the airline about a former employee of theirs (Amy) who is applying for a position at Tim Collins & Associates.
Number 28
Hendrix looks pleased that Harlow has come to see him as he sits in the garden of #28 and gets why she wasn't ready to come see him before now. She brings up that Susan said he was struggling and not coping well, it made her start thinking.
HARLOW: I always thought I was a good influence in our relationship, it's not why I'm with you. I do really love you, but I thought I made you a better person by being with you and I now I realise that was all a lie.
HENDRIX: No it wasn't, it wasn't.
HARLOW: The things you've done, the lies you've told, they say otherwise.
HENDRIX: Harlow, please... please...
HARLOW: And what its also made me realise, is that I've got to stop considering you my problem. I tried to be there for you. I really tried to support you, but I ended up being kidnapped. I really do love you, but I've got to put myself first. I'm sorry, its over.
As the strains of 'All I ever wanted' continues to play, Harlow takes one last look at Hendrix before leaving the lad to cry in private.
