Dipi starts to get up but Shane is in agony and clutching his leg. Bea asks for Jay's jacket which he gives.
DIPI: It's gonna be ok.
Hendrix is asked to call an ambulance repeatedly. Hendrix comes out of his stupor and calls the ambulance. Hendrix gives the details of the explosion over the phone. Hendrix and Jay look at each other in horror.
Yashvi tells Ned that him telling her parents about Jay has impressed them. Ned shrugs it off, he did it for Jay's benefit. They don't think Barry will have chanced his luck after being wanted for schoolies. Yashvi gets a call from Bea.
Nicolette asks Chloe if Pierce has been in touch with Hendrix. Chloe is surprised that Nicolette would think of this, Nicolette claims it's connected with Karl and Susan being away at the moment. Yashvi tells them about the explosion and is wondering if they've seen Hendrix. Shane is in hospital but she doesn't know anything else really. They need to head off, Chloe needs to go for Hendrix's sake.
Dipi, Toadie and Jay are waiting. Jay is agitated but Toadie is calm knowing they'll update them when it's possible. David comes out and updates them that they're getting Shane ready for surgery. Then they can get the bullet out of Shane's thigh. Jay looks shocked, Toadie had thought metal from the oven had gone into Shane's leg. David confirms it was a gunshot wound which baffles Dipi. The police have been informed and should be able to help the family find answers.
TOADIE: It takes more than a bullet to keep a Rebecchi down. I should know!
Dipi takes David to one side and asks him to be honest. David admits there has been quite some blood loss. They will know more about bone or nerve damage when the scans come back. It's not likely that Shane will lose his leg. David promises that Dipi will be the first to be updated when they have more news. David promises they'll look after Shane.
Chloe is thinking more people could have been injured. Nicolette wonders how this happened. Hendrix is ok. Bea has spoken to Karl and Susan who are catching the next flight home. Bea has ringing in her ears but is ok otherwise. For insurance purposes Karl has asked Bea to take photos of the damage. Bea accepts Harlow and Chloe's offer to take the photos so she can rest and they head out to do so. Nicolette sits down next to Hendrix.
NICOLETTE: I know this wasn't an accident. Was it another warning from Kane?
Nicolette wonders what Hendrix plans to do next. Bea has had a call from the police, a bullet went into Shane's leg. The police are heading over so she needs them to stop touching things outside. Nicolette tells Hendrix firmly that he needs to confess as Hendrix looks worried.
Terese is hopeful the uniforms will arrive before the lip- sync, Amy is hopeful as they're set to arrive that very morning. Amy is awed that staff will be wearing her designs. Terese gets a text from Ned telling her about Shane. Amy is confused as no- one has contacted her. Terese is convinced it's genuine. Amy heads off.
Yashvi comes off the phone to the Sergeant, there were gun remnants in the pizza oven. Dipi wants to know why that happened. That will be investigated. Mackenzie is supporting Jay who is worried about the surgery taking so long.
TOADIE: How was Shane shot?
YASHVI: Guns can go off when they're exposed to high temperature. Gunpowder from the other bullets caused the explosion.
Yashvi ate pizza recently there so it's happened in the last couple of days. Mackenzie suggests taking a walk but Jay refuses. Dipi asks him if Hendrix was involved after what Ned said to them. She points out the explosion took place where Hendrix is living. She tells him about the pizza oven having a gun in it and asking if it was Hendrix's.
Chloe is looking after Hendrix after all that's happened. Nicolette invites him to open up. The cops are still in the Backyard. Harlow tells them that a gun has been found. She's not sure about the details as she didn't hear the full story. Nicolette tells Hendrix it's time for one of them to be honest.
NICOLETTE: This is all linked to the guy Kane Jones, the one that Aaron warned me about.
CHLOE: What's he to do with anything?
NICOLETTE: He's been running illegal blackjack games from your house. (Chloe and Harlow are shocked.) Hendrix has been gambling and now owes Kane a lot of money. He bet the house and he lost that too. Now Kane's threatening him. I don't know what a gun has to do with anything. You'll have to ask Hendrix.
HARLOW: Is this true? (Hendrix nods.)
Jay has confirmed the gun doesn't belong to Hendrix and thinks this option makes sense. Yashvi wants to find out why Jay is covering for Hendrix. Toadie thinks things will be all right, Dipi is still worried.
Amy arrives, pointing out that she couldn't get here sooner as no- one had updated her. Toadie apologises, he hadn't thought of it. Amy brushes it off as it's an anxious time. Amy wants to know what happened as David arrives. He reports that Shane has come out of surgery. The bullet has been removed and stitches are in place. Amy is stunned to hear this, Toadie promises to update her. Shane has had a blood transfusion but no nerve damage and should make a good recovery. Dipi is very grateful. Shane will be allowed visitors but not many at one time. Yashvi tells them that Jay has gone.
Hendrix insists that Jay isn't to blame. Chloe is stunned that they'd think it was right to hide a gun. Hendrix didn't think this would escalate so badly. Chloe points out that it's worse than that.
CHLOE: Shane could have been killed. There is a dangerous criminal walking around thinking he owns my house.
Hendrix was convinced he could sort this out, Chloe wishes he'd talked to her. Hendrix didn't want other people to be under threat and was desperate to win the money back. Chloe reminds him there are children living on Ramsay Street, this hadn't crossed Hendrix's mind. Hendrix tries to apologise. Harlow cuts him off and leaves. Nicolette apologises for not being honest before this and wanted Hendrix to be honest. Chloe doesn't feel ready to talk to her.
Mackenzie arrives to find an upset Jay and reassures him. She realises he's scared and wants to know why he left so quickly.
JAY: Dad could have died, Mum could have been hurt. How else am I meant to be?
Mackenzie realises there's more to this and gently asks what's going on. She promises not to judge him. He wishes she wasn't being kind which she refuses to do.
JAY: I don't deserve it.
Jay prefers his own company. He doesn't seem ready to see Shane.
Chloe is trying to get hold of Pierce. She doesn't mind the time difference and stresses how important it is. The police have finished and Levi will update them when needed. Bea has heard from Yashvi how Shane is doing but realises there is more. Kane texts Hendrix demanding the keys to No.24. Chloe wants to call the police but Hendrix wants to talk to Pierce in case he can cough up the money.
CHLOE: This isn't negotiable, we're past that.
As Bea looks bewildered Hendrix points out he has history with the police already so prison is possible. Chloe promises to support him and that they will all protect him from Kane.
SHANE: I hear we're twins now.
TOADIE: Both got bullet wounds. Really shows that you want to be like me.
Shane wants to know what happened, Yashvi tells him they're investigating that matter. Dipi tells him how worried they were and he should focus on his recovery. He remembers the bang and her reassurance. Amy watches from outside. Shane wants to know about Bea and Jay. Yashvi covers saying that Jay and Mackenzie are getting food.
Nicolette wants to chat to David, he is busy but is prepared to chat. She requests they talk in his office.
NICOLETTE: I made a mistake again and Chloe's upset and I wanted you to hear it from me.
Jay feels embarrassed about being upset but Mackenzie understands. Jay admits it hasn't really helped. Ned arrives and wants Jay to visit Shane. Jay doesn't look so sure so Ned wants a private word with him so Mackenzie heads outside. Ned knows about the gun.
NED: I've been suss on you for a while. I don't think you're as straitlaced as you make out.
JAY: You've known me for what a month?
Ned thinks that short space of time has helped him get a clearer picture. Ned realises that Jay needs help and wants to be allowed to help. Jay doesn't think it's possible for anyone to help. Ned tells him that he's found his way out of lots of rough patches. Ned thinks it's better to be honest about what's happened.
JAY: Everyone will hate me.
Ned points out his family will stand by him whatever. Jay is fortunate to have that. Jay agrees. Hendrix texts Jay to tell him Chloe knows all that's happened.
Hendrix arrives to find Kane waiting for him. Hendrix isn't impressed at the location, Kane smugly reminds him he's the house owner now. Hendrix tells him it's time to go. Kane wants to sort everything out tonight instead of tomorrow.
KANE: I'm really keen to meet the neighbours.
HENDRIX: I can't give you the house.
KANE: You can and you will.
HENDRIX: It's not mine. I don't own it. It's my stepmum's.
Kane isn't impressed, Hendrix tells him that he has been honest with her. He has to tell the police so Kane starts shoving back towards the door. Chloe arrives and demands that Kane let go of Hendrix. The police are coming. Kane doesn't believe her but she points out he might not want to wait and find out. Kane lets go of Hendrix.
KANE: You're gonna pay for this.
Amy arrives with freesias and roses as she couldn't decide! Shane is feeling as ok as he can be after what happened. Amy notices Dipi awkwardly sitting there, realises it's awkward and offers to leave. Shane wants her to stay.
SHANE: You're a welcome distraction.
AMY: I'd like to think I'm more than that!
Amy wants to hear the full story as Toadie isn't so great at giving details. Jay arrives and Amy realises it's time to go. Shane wants her to return as Yashvi comes in as well.
Amy tells Toadie and Mackenzie that she's realised something is up. Mackenzie doesn't think it should come from her. Toadie gently suggests she comes back the next day instead of sticking around. Amy heads off.
Jay admits to doing some bad things and is very apologetic as the rest of the family look on.
JAY: I'll never do anything like this again. I promise.
Dipi points out about the gun, Yashvi tells him there are serious charges ahead. Nicolette told them about the blackjack games. Shane wants to know if Hendrix talked him into it knowing about his blackjack skills. Jay mumbles and Shane crossly tells him to speak louder. Jay tells them he thought up cutting cards. Shane wants to know what else he has to tell them.
It's now the next day. Hendrix was prepared to be beaten up if Chloe hadn't arrived. Kane did believe the bluff. Hendrix thought Kane wouldn't be so hard on him if he warned Kane what was going to happen. As he spots Harlow and Terese, he heads towards Harlow as Terese, Chloe and Bea try to stop him. Hendrix tries to talk to Harlow but she's not interested. He needs her.
HARLOW: You seriously expect me to stand by you through this? You are deluded.
Hendrix tries to explain herself. Terese tries to get Harlow to go home but Harlow refuses and carries on walking.
Dipi is still trying to process everything that's happened, they now know about what happened to Pierce, the break- in and taking the necklace. Dipi suggests for the time being moving back to No.32. Toadie won't be checking up on Jay by herself. Shane has been considering this but not sure if it will help.
SHANE: All this happened under our noses. We didn't see a thing.
DIPI: It's my fault. I've been so wrapped up in my own issues.
SHANE: We both dropped the bomb. I've had my own stuff going on too.
Dipi realises how easily Jay lied to them, how did it come to this? Shane agrees.
Jay is listening outside as Mackenzie supports him. Jay realises his actions brought this on himself. Jay doesn't understand why Mackenzie isn't upset with him as well. She doesn't want to everyone else having a go at him. Jay is grateful and touched by this. He realises she might want to spend time with Harlow. Mackenzie will catch up with Harlow, right now Harlow is mad at Hendrix.
Harlow is walking along a quiet path and realises a van is slowly following her. It continues to do so as she walks faster and gets her phone out of her pocket. Harlow is grabbed and pulled into the van. Harlow yelps as the van drives off. Harlow's phone is left on the ground.
