The Peninsula
Ned is completely in shock and runs into the hedge maze followed by Scarlett. She howls his name, eventually cornering him and standing over him threateningly with the knife.
SCARLETT: Ned, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. But you made me do this because of what you said. We were meant to be together, Ned.
NED: This is sick.
SCARLETT: Sick?! You gave me no choice!
NED: You stabbed me!
SCARLETT: I didn't mean to hurt you, I love you! But you gave me no choice.
He runs past her, down another part of the maze.
SCARLETT: Ned!
Number 32
Amy's just let the cops out.
AMY: Did you see the cops expression change when he saw the scrapbook? Handing it in was the right thing to do.
KYLE: How did we not pick up on any of this sooner?
TERESE: Well, Scarlett certainly put up a good front.
AMY: Yeah, learning about her family, it was hard not to feel sorry for her. I mean a tragedy like that defines you for the rest of your life.
Amy worries that she could come after the hotel but Paul thinks that she's lost all credibility now. Terese receives a call from Yashvi. She tells her that she's gone to look for Ned with Bea. Clearly worried, Terese tells them to come straight home but Kyle thinks he might know something; looking at the flyer for the B&B he sees the hedge maze and wonders if they've gone in there. Terese tells them not to go anywhere.
Lassiters Lake
Harlow and Mackenzie walk towards the lake, dressed up for Halloween. Harlow is dressed as Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Mackenzie's dressed as Audrey Hepburn.
HARLOW: Who doesn't love free sweets?
MACKENZIE: It's lollies, remember?
HARLOW: Oh yeah, right, that's so weird.
MACKENZIE: You're weird (laughs)
They discuss their outfits before Harlow asks Mackenzie if she can stay at hers tonight. Hendrix and Richie appear.
HENDRIX: Got any sherbet bombs, neighbour?
HARLOW: I don't even know what that is and please stop calling me neighbour.
Hendrix asks if the girls went trick-or-treating but they didn't, so he wonders why they're eating lollies like they're in primary school.
HENDRIX: And why do you look like nuns?
MACKENZIE: Why are you dressed like a knock off Robert Pattinson? And his pet dog...Besides, at least we have a reason to wear costumes.
RICHIE: So do we.
HENDRIX: Yeah, party at Annabel Crawford's.
He invites the girls but they decline, saying they're going to tell scary stories. He continues to make fun of them and Harlow says that he wouldn't be able to handle their stories anyway. Up for the challenge, she begins to tell the boys a scary poem.
The Peninsula
Bea and Yashvi have entered the maze. Yashvi pauses for a moment with a bag of sweets in her hand, planning to put some on the floor so they can find their way out. Elsewhere, Ned and Scarlett are still running round the maze.
Number 22
Shane, Dipi and Susan arrive to see Paul and Terese. They all worry about the girls and Paul phones the B&B.
PAUL: Is that the manager? My name's Paul Robinson. Look, I need some information on a couple that are staying with you right now. What do you mean you can't give out that information? Don't lecture me about privacy, I know exactly what the law says! Right, let me make this clear. I have a firm of extremely expensive solicitors on retainer. And if somebody gets hurt out there because you didn't pass on information, you can say goodbye to your little B&B and everything else you own, is that clear?...Thank you. Thank you.
He turns to the others.
PAUL: They're in the maze.
The Peninsula
Scarlett is still searching for Ned in the maze. Bea and Yashvi are both navigating the maze as well. Elsewhere, Ned clutches his wound covered in blood and falls to the ground. Bea finds him but unfortunately Scarlett suddenly appears at the same time.
SCARLETT: Ned, we need to talk. That's what people who love each other do Ned...!
BEA: Get away!
Scarlett holds the knife up at Bea. Yashvi appears behind Scarlett who abruptly turns towards her.
SCARLETT: You...This is all your fault.
YASHVI: Scarlett...Ned's hurt.
SCARLETT: You were always standing in our way, trying to stop us from being together. Well you can't stop us anymore!
Yashvi tries to get past but Scarlett launches towards forward and stabs her. She then runs away.
BEA: Are you ok?
YASHVI: I'm bleeding...go and get Ned. Please just go and get Ned!
Lassiters Lake
Harlow finishes her poem and to everyone's amusement Hendrix actually looks pretty scared.
RICHIE: Tell you what is scary. The teacher who got murdered here.
HENDRIX: What teacher?
RICHIE: From school. A few years ago.
MACKENZIE: That never happened.
RICHIE: Yeah, it did. She got shot, over by the rotunda.
HARLOW: How do you know about it?
RICHIE: We used to come down here in Year 7. Kids reckon she still haunts the place.
MACKENZIE: We should have a séance. Try and talk to her.
Harlow and Hendrix think a séance is a rubbish idea but Richie says he did one during the last holidays and it worked; they all felt someone there. His experience encourages them to do a séance after all and they agree to meet back at the rotunda after dark.
Number 22
Everyone's still worried about Ned and the girls. Paul puts the blame on Bea.
PAUL: Well any money says it was her that talked Yashvi into jumping into that car and going all vigilante.
SUSAN: Oh come on, you know as well as I do Yashvi's got a mind of her own. The fact that Bea went with her just shows how strong their friendship is.
They continue to bicker before Terese jumps in telling them to stop it. She tells Paul that he should have told them earlier that he was suspicious of Scarlett.
SUSAN: Let's worry about whose fault it was once we know they're all safe.
Number 26
In the garden, Kyle has just spoken to Aaron and David and tells Amy they're shocked about Scarlett. Kyle feels guilty, as he thinks he could have done more to stop Ned from going away with her. Amy's been preparing for a job interview with a project management company who have asked her to make a presentation. Kyle asks if she wants help to rehearse for it but she doesn't think she can focus on it right now anyway.
Number 22
Shane and Dipi have out into the garden for some air.
SHANE: As nice as it is to hear Paul's got Vi's back, you and I both know she's the more gung ho of the pair.
DIPI: Yeah, well she still loves Ned. And that's why she went, nothing could have stopped her.
Dipi has been looking at pictures of the maze online and the sheer size of it has worried her. Shane says that's a good thing as it gives the police more time to arrive before Bea and Yashvi run into Ned and Scarlett. Dipi assumes the worst - that it will take more time for help to arrive if something goes wrong.
The Peninsula
Scarlett walks into the centre of the maze still calling out Ned's name.
SCARLETT: Where are you, Ned?
She finds him sitting against a tree.
SCARLETT: I really wish you hadn't done this, Ned. We were meant to be together.
Bea stands behind the hedge and can see the train of Scarlett's dress.
SCARLETT: I loved you. But now I have to say goodbye.
Yashvi appears from another part of the maze. She and Bea stand out of Scarlett's eyesight weighing up the situation. Scarlett lifts her knife in the air about to stab Ned and Bea calls out her name. She turns around and goes to stab Bea instead but Yashvi tackles her to the ground. Bea runs over to a lifeless Ned, attempting to wake him.
The Rotunda
Late at night, the teens have met for their séance. Mackenzie seems a bit freaked out. When they commence, there is a gunshot which freaks them out a bit more.
RICHIE: Can anybody hear us?
The glass moves.
RICHIE: Spirits of the night, can you tell us your name?
Hendrix mocks Richie, asking him to come up with some better questions. The glass moves over to the letter K. It then moves to the letter A and another gunshot goes off.
MACKENZIE: What was that?!
RICHIE: I don't know. I lied earlier, this has never worked before.
2 more gunshots go off and Richie runs off. Harlow heads towards the lake and finds Hendrix's phone which has been playing gunshot noises. He is smug that he made them so scared which prompts her to throw the phone at him.
Erinsborough Hospital
Ned is in hospital having a nightmare about his ordeal with Scarlett. Paul and Terese wake him up, telling him that he's just been in surgery.
NED: And Scarlett?
TERESE: She's in custody. But the main thing is that you're ok.
Ned asks if anyone else was there and Paul tells him that Yashvi and Bea were. He explains that they saved his life by restraining Scarlett until the police got there.
TERESE:: Look, Yashvi's been hurt.
He begins to panic.
TERESE: It's alright, it's just her leg, it's nothing serious.
Erinsborough Hospital
Shane and Dipi are visiting Yashvi in another room at the hospital.
YASHVI: Is Ned ok?
DIPI: He's fine, let's just worry about you.
SHANE: 10 stitches is no mean feat.
DIPI: You're lucky. Do you know how much worse this could have been?
Yashvi's parents lecture her about going after Ned, telling her it was awful to receive a phone call saying their daughter had been stabbed.
Number 28
Susan, Bea and Finn arrive home. Bea apologises to them for going after Ned and Scarlett. Finn and Susan tell her how irresponsible it was, especially considering she didn't even tell them she was going.
BEA: You're right, anything could have happened. I just got so caught up in panicking about Scarlett.
SUSAN: Well you were right about her. All the more reason you should have left it for the professionals.
BEA: Yes. I will next time.
FINN: There won't be a next time.
Bea apologises to Finn again and they hug.
Police Station
Scarlett sobs to herself in the police station, looking extremely disheveled. Paul arrives.
SCARLETT: What do you want?
PAUL: Hello Scarlett. You know, you made two mistakes. One; thinking that Ned would ever fall in love with someone like you. And two; thinking that you could outwit me. I've seen off much smarter people in my time and I'm sure I will again. So you know what Scarlett, I'm gonna say goodbye. See ya in about what 10 to 15 years, I'd say. Oh, and by the way. I met up with Marianna. And I paid her an enormous amount of money. So you can forget about her doing your blackmail from now on...Nothing to say?
She leans forward.
SCARLETT: Trick or treat, Paul.
He looks rattled and leaves.
Erinsborough Hospital
Kyle has come to visit Ned.
KYLE: Dude, that is gonna be one sick scar!
NED: Wish I could say it was worth it.
Kyle clearly still feels bad that he didn't see the warning signs earlier, saying if they'd known what she was like they'd never have let her move in. Shane and Dipi are taking Yashvi outside in a wheelchair and Ned calls her name as they go past. Dipi asks if she wants to go in and see him but she replies that she just wants to go outside. Kyle tells Ned that she just needs time.
Number 22
Amy asks how Ned and Yashvi are and Paul replies that they've both got a few stitches and Ned lost a lot of blood but they'll be fine. Kyle arrives, saying that things might be rocky between Ned and Yashvi for a while. Paul tells his family that he went to see Scarlett at the police station.
AMY: You saw her?
TERESE: He couldn't help himself. He had to go and gloat, didn't he?
PAUL: Is it a crime to be a little ungracious from time to time?
TERESE: No, I just think it's pointless. Why would you poke the bear?
PAUL: You know it's funny you should say that. You should've seen the look on her face. It was like she was trying to work one last angle.
AMY: What angle could she possibly work behind bars?
PAUL: I don't know (laughs).
Paul gets an email.
PAUL: I tell you what, nobody's gonna believe her about those cameras anymore, that's for sure. Not without any proof.
Paul clicks a link in his email. It takes him to a video of Kyle and Amy getting intimate in one of the Lassiters hotel rooms. He looks shocked.
AMY: What's that look for?
