- Chloe tells Gary that he can't make Kyle part of the wedding - as he's still in love with Amy
- Gary spirals into panic mode, and starts searching for a celebrant for next week
- Finn asks Elly to keep the secret of his memory scare like he kept hers; Mark sees them talking
- Aaron seizes the opportunity to snoop in Finn's case file while David's out of his office
- Later, Aaron tells Mark that the file revealed Finn's getting his memory back
There are significant changes to the opening titles today. Following the existing shot of Toadie, Nell and Hugo, there is a fresh shot of Chloe with new addition Pierce (Tim Robards) outside Harold's Café. We move to the existing shot of Terese and Paul, followed by three more fresh shots featuring Elly, Bea and Finn on the No 32 sunbeds by the pool; Amy and Kyle enjoying a beer elsewhere in the garden; and David and Aaron joined by Mark by the pool. The remainder of the shots are unchanged, from Ned, Roxy and Leo onwards.
No 32
David is in the living area, when Aaron and Mark come in. Mark asks if it's true that Finn's regaining his memory.
DAVID: Why would you think that?
AARON: I told him. I read Finn's file.
David is shocked and furious. He says that Finn's feeling of recognising Harry Sinclair could mean anything; his brain could be filling in the gaps with false memories.
MARK: But it's possible that it's real?
DAVID: I haven't even begun to reach that sort of finding.
AARON: David, you still have to report this to the police.
DAVID: No, I don't. I've sought expert advice to take the proper steps. This situation is far too complex to be rushing to conclusions.
Aaron appeals to Mark to make this official, but Mark says he won't, saying he trusts David's medical judgement, and has promised Elly he won't go overboard in pursuing Finn. David says that if Finn's memory does turn out to be real, he'll do his job and alert the authorities. Mark leaves them to it.
DAVID: Do you have any idea how many codes of practice you've breached?
AARON: Or how many lives I just saved?
DAVID: I could lose my job! You know what I went through when I lost the surgical programme. I never thought I'd have a second chance!
AARON: Is this what you call a second chance? Cosying yourself up to the most dangerous people alive?
DAVID: I am doing my job! Unlike you, who's reading confidential files and making biased accusations.
AARON: Are you for real?!
David storms out, saying he's going to clean up the mess Aaron's made.
No 24
Elly is making a cuppa when Mark comes in; he tells her about Finn possibly getting his memory back. But it quickly becomes clear that Elly already knew, and Mark realises that this is what they were talking about in the street when he saw them.
MARK: Why didn't you tell me?
ELLY: Because he told David, and I asked him to tell my family. And if he didn't, I was going to tell people.
MARK: Is that why you've been having nightmares? And you didn't tell me because I've been going in too hard?
Elly doesn't reply. Mark says it's frustrating but that he understands the situation has been putting a lot of pressure on Elly, and why she kept quiet. But he thinks the news will now spread fast.

Bea, Susan and Karl wait anxiously at the table as David speaks quietly to Finn in the sofa area. David is explaining to Finn about Aaron snooping in his file; he admits he's worried Aaron could tell others.
DAVID: I'm so sorry. I should never have let him in the office.
FINN: it's not your fault.
DAVID: Yes, it is. And I think it's best we try and get ahead of the gossip.
Finn agrees, and goes over to tell Bea, Susan and Karl that he recognised Harry Sinclair last week.
FINN: I didn't say anything because I didn't want to scare you. I'm scared. I'm scared of what might happen to me if I do start remembering.
Bea, Susan and Karl look gravely concerned, but Susan says they shouldn't get ahead of themselves - they need to remain positive.

Sheila, Gary and Amy are just finishing dinner. Gary announces he's heading out to pick up supplies for Sonya's Nursery - which immediately strikes Sheila and Amy as odd, as it's late, and he's working at the Pavilion tomorrow. Gary backtracks and says that's what he meant; he needs to fetch some cups from The Waterhole.
Amy can tell he's lying, however; and once Gary's gone, Amy asks Sheila if he's up to something. Sheila claims she hasn't the foggiest, and stares at the ceiling. Amy guesses it's something to do with her birthday tomorrow. Sheila's face says everything.
SHEILA: I can't say anything.
AMY: It's a surprise party, isn't it? Come on - we both know it's only a matter of time until you talk.
Sheila admits that there will be a party, and tells Amy not to tell Gary that she let slip. Amy tells her not to worry; she'll pretend it's a total surprise.

Kyle is wrapping a birthday present for Amy - 'one of those lithium battery brushless jobs', whatever that means! Aaron tells him he's going to spend the night at Mark's, to give David some space. Kyle says he doesn't blame David for being sore at Aaron; Aaron says he knows he did the wrong thing, but it's only because he's worried about Finn hurting David.
Aaron remarks that the present Kyle's bought Amy seems pretty expensive given he doesn't have a job right now. Kyle replies that Amy's a good mate and that he'll be in employment soon.
Aaron leaves, and Kyle turns his attention to writing a card for Amy. 'Hope this present gets the job done, bit by bit. Haha - Happy Birthday.' He starts to write 'love', hesitates, then writes over it with 'best wishes, Kyle'. He then rips up the card, frustrated.
No 30
Gary is expressing his appreciation to Toadie, Shane and Yashvi for 'keeping this under wraps'.
TOADIE: With Dipi and Kirsha away, we've got the room.
YASHVI: Though I didn't think Amy's present would be eating *all* the food.
The camera pans around to reveal Amy's son Jimmy, plating up some grub!
JIMMY: There's never enough food on airplanes, anyway.
We learn that Jimmy has flown back from the USA to surprise Amy for tomorrow's party. The Rebecchis express surprise that he's come all this way for a birthday, which isn't even a big one. Gary and Jimmy exchange a furtive glance.
JIMMY: Oh, isn't every birthday a big one?
GARY: Hey, spot on, mate! And Ames is well worth the effort.
TOADIE: Should be a good party!
GARY: Just you wait and see! Be one she should never forget.
Gary and Jimmy exchange another knowing glance.
Ramsay Street
Aaron is telling Ned, Shane and Yashvi all about what he's read in Finn's file, about his memory returning! Yashvi thinks it's good that Dipi and Kirsha are away, or else they'd be freaking out. Ned is looking forward to the fallout if it proves to be true. But David turns up and catches Aaron in the act of 'spreading wildfire'. He is livid.
DAVID: Did none of what I said to you last night sink in?!
AARON: No, I heard what you said -
DAVID: And yet, here we are.
David tells the others that the notes in Finn's file aren't even complete; it's too early to speculate about his memory coming back. Shane and Ned suggest people have a right to know.
DAVID: No, they don't. This is spreading private information.
He turns to Aaron, and adds...
DAVID: You did the wrong thing last night, and you're still doing it.

Bea asks Elly if she was talking to Finn about him remembering Harry when Bea saw them yesterday. Elly admits that she was; Bea is annoyed that Elly didn't tell her.
ELLY: I figured you had enough to deal with - with getting hurt, and the break-up.
BEA: What? I made a decision to talk to Finn more. But now I don't know what to think!
Bea heads out for a walk to clear her head. Finn emerges from the bedroom. He admits he hardly slept last night.
ELLY: Are you going to tell people about my baby now? I'm sorry your secret's out -
FINN: You don't even have to ask.
ELLY: The baby's all I ever think about!
FINN (shouting): I told you, I'm not gonna break my word!!
He calms down, apologising.
FINN: I'm just... on edge.
Elly says it's fine, and says she's going to go. Finn tells her she doesn't need to leave.
ELLY: You've got enough to deal with. You don't need my stress adding to it.
FINN: Elly, please stay!
But she's already out of the door.

Kyle is fishing leaves out of the swimming pool, when Amy turns up. She's come to talk to David about the Finn situation; Kyle tells her that David's gone out. He gives Amy her present; she goes to kiss him on the cheek but they accidentally bump noses instead! There follows an awkward silence. Kyle says that he 'forgot' to get her a card.
KYLE: People write pointless stuff in them, anyway.
She goes to open the present. He tells her to open it later, when he's not around.
AMY: So you won't be around for later?
Kyle says he's got a busy day ahead of thinking about looking for a job, and doing nothing about it! Amy wishes him luck with the job hunt, and leaves. He wishes her a happy birthday as she walks off, and returns to his pool-cleaning - but a football flies over the fence from No 30 and hits him. He shouts over the fence, assuming it's Yashvi - but is baffled when Jimmy's head pops over the fence!
JIMMY: Hey, Kyle.

Toadie turns up to see Finn, Karl and Susan; David has asked him to brief Finn on where he stands legally.
TOADIE: There might not be anything in it; but I advise that you submit to a full review of your release conditions.
FINN: What would that involve?
TOADIE: Well, the hospital will call in the specialist again, and the court will hear any new evidence.
SUSAN: Could that jeopardise Finn's freedom?
TOADIE: It's possible.
KARL: We don't actually know what's happening in Finn's brain. Shouldn't we leave the decision to David?
TOADIE: ... Well, if the court thinks that Finn is hiding something, they're gonna come down even harder on him. Your call.
Finn hesitates, before saying...
FINN: Start the process. I want to do the right thing.
Toadie nods, and leaves.
FINN: I don't know how I'm gonna get through all this again. And put you through it.
He leaves to get some space. Karl says that Susan seems remarkably calm given what they're facing.
SUSAN: It's all for show. I'm terrified.
KARL: Well, we're forewarned, so we can be on guard.
Ramsay Street
Finn emerges from the house and looks around in contemplation. Bea turns up.
FINN: Sorry we didn't end up talking yesterday. Not like you'd want to now.
BEA: Well, I can't say I'm not freaked out about it.
FINN: You and me both.
BEA: I know you're scared. I know that that's real. Look, I've been doing a lot of thinking about this; and I'm not gonna give up on you unless I really have to.
FINN: Thank you.
A snarky Ned turns up to ruin the moment.
NED: Enjoy that view while it lasts, mate. Be something to remember when you're crying in your jail cell.
BEA: Ned, go home.
NED: You won't be able to use that amnesia excuse for long, will you?
BEA: Ned, I said, that's enough!
NED: Don't come running to me when he turns on you.
Ned storms off, and Bea and Finn look worried.

An excited Kyle turns up to see Jimmy, who is less than enthusiastic. Kyle remarks on how much he's grown since the last time he saw him.
JIMMY: Yeah, well. You left a long time ago. What are you doing back here?
KYLE: Things didn't work out in Germany - and your G-Dad, he had a job for me.
JIMMY: So, after everything you've put Mum through, you just bailed on Georgia too?
KYLE: No. No, there's more to it than that, mate. You'll get it when you're older.
JIMMY: I am older. So, you come back, and Mum's hooked up with your dad? How'd that feel?
KYLE: It's fine. Yeah, it's a bit weird. But I'm happy your mum's happy. Are you okay with it?
JIMMY: Yeah. At least she found someone who's gonna stick around.
Kyle's previous enthusiasm has totally deflated, thanks to Jimmy's cool reception.
KYLE: So, uh, what are you doing crashing here? There's plenty of room at Gran's.
JIMMY: Mum doesn't know I'm back.
KYLE: Really?
JIMMY: Laying low to spring on her at the surprise party.
KYLE: Surprise party?
At that moment Gary comes in, and is less than pleased to see Kyle there.
KYLE: Gary. Jimmy's just informed me that I didn't cop an invite to Amy's shindig.
Gary asks Jimmy to give them a minute, and he leaves the room.
Lassiter's Complex
Yashvi is chatting to Ned over a coffee outside Harold's. It appears he's feeling guilty for what he said to Bea in the street.
YASHVI: Oh, don't worry about it. You just said what everyone else is thinking.
NED: Hmm.
YASHVI: You could just say sorry, I dunno.
NED: No - no, I really lost my head.
YASHVI: No-one will notice. You don't use it anyway.
NED: Ha-ha!
YASHVI: Okay, I will grab you some food. Waffles fix everything - even run-ins with murderers.
Nearby, Mark is chatting to Aaron about Elly keeping Finn's secret from him; he observes that it doesn't say great things about their relationship. Aaron points out that David didn't tell him, either - but Mark says that at least David had his professional obligations as justification.
Aaron says that Elly may be avoiding talking to him in order to reduce the risk of a row, saying she might still be worried that Mark holds her one-night stand with Chloe against her. Mark is doubtful of that, but Aaron suggests he needs to make it crystal clear to Elly that he's put her infidelity firmly in the past. Perhaps a Grand Gesture™ is in order...

Gary claims he 'just forgot' to invite Kyle to Amy's party.
KYLE: You forgot to invite your own son?
GARY: Well, not forgot. I just... didn't get around to it. I was gonna mention it this morning.
KYLE: If you don't want me there, just say it.
GARY: Of course I want you there. Why wouldn't I?
KYLE: You tell me.
GARY: ... Because it's not just gonna be a birthday party. It's gonna be a surprise wedding as well. That's why I brought Jimmy out.
Kyle is horrified, and things quickly become heated.
KYLE: You can't spring something like that on Amy!
GARY: Yes, I can, mate - and I'm going to.
KYLE: No, I mean - I know her, mate. She won't like it.
GARY: You mean *you* won't like it.
KYLE: What's that supposed to mean?
GARY: Oh, do you really want me to say it out loud?
KYLE: Well, you're gonna have to, cos I've got no idea what you're talking about.
GARY: Because you're still in love with her!
KYLE: ... Where'd you hear that?
GARY: Chloe told me.
KYLE: Yeah? Well Chloe needs to learn to keep her mouth shut. I never would've done anything about it.
GARY: You're trying to stop me getting married! You reckon that's not doing something about it?
KYLE: That's not why I think this is wrong!
GARY: You still want her for yourself!
KYLE: Oh, don't be stupid!
GARY: Mate, you've just admitted it! And just to get everything out on the table - you're right. I didn't invite you to the party because I don't want you there, ruining the best day of my life!
Kyle stares silently, a mixture of anger and heartbreak, as Gary leaves.

In the garden, Finn looks glum. Elly has turned up to see how he is doing - explaining that Bea told her what Ned said to him.
FINN: I've heard worse.
ELLY: I need to apologise about yesterday. I was really insensitive.
FINN: It doesn't matter.
ELLY: Yeah, it does.
FINN: Look, I know what you're dealing with. And you're a good person.
ELLY: That's debatable. All I've ever tried to do was put this baby first. But keeping this secret - it's making me do things I never thought I was capable of.
FINN: When was the last time you had some proper sleep?
ELLY: Weeks ago.
FINN: I couldn't, either. Kept getting stuck in my head, thinking about every possible scenario. What might happen if people found out about me. How they'd all turn against me. But they haven't. Yet. I'm just glad it's out now. And I'm still petrified of getting my memories back. But the relief of not having to keep up the act - not having to keep my guard up all the time...
We close in on Elly. What Finn's saying has clearly struck a real chord with her own situation...
No 24
Mark is preparing his Grand Gesture™ - he's all suited up like it's his wedding day again, and has set up a load of flowers and candles.
Ramsay Street
We cut to Elly in the street, on the cusp of making a momentous decision. Eventually, she begins walking towards No 24.
No 24
Elly comes in, and is surprised to see all the effort Mark's gone to.
ELLY: Mark...
MARK: I haven't done anywhere near enough to show you how much you mean to me.
ELLY: You don't have to -
MARK: Hey - I do. I do.
He shows her to the sofa.
MARK: We didn't have a wedding reception - so I never got to make a speech. So I thought I could do it now.
ELLY: Mark, I really -
MARK: Sit, please (...) Elly, whatever we've been through - and I know it hasn't been plain sailing - one thing hasn't changed. And that's the vision we share for a life together. We both want the same thing - a family, and a future. With love, and hope, and forgiveness.
He takes her hand.
MARK: You are my future. And I know that you will support me in my job, and as a father. Even as I introduce our kids to Doctor Who. Just like I'll be there for you too - on your bad teaching days, and your bad hair days. And I cannot wait to be there when our baby's born.
But Elly is becoming visibly upset...
MARK: Elly?
ELLY: Mark, there's something I have to tell you... The baby -
MARK: What's wrong?
ELLY: You're not the father of the baby.
Coming up on Neighbours
