Lassiter's Complex
Leo is collecting his clothes from the courtyard after Paul threw them off the balcony! Terese emerges, and Leo tells her that Paul has fired him and thrown him out of the penthouse. Leo is heading to stay at the backpackers', via the dry-cleaner! Paul emerges.
PAUL: Well, isn't this sweet, hey? Helping your toy-boy clean up his mess!
TERESE: Please, Paul - let's not get into this in front of the guests.
But Paul is no mood for discretion, and starts shouting about having walked in on Terese and Leo - just as various RSRs (Elly, Mark, David) randomly appear at the scene to overhear! Paul stomps off angrily, as Mark raises an eyebrow and everyone else looks worried.
LEO: Guess the secret's out now!
Terese goes to tell Piper about her and Leo, before she hears it elsewhere.

Mishti has just come back from dropping Pavan off at the airport (because he's Not In This Episode™). An upset Dipi is putting away various Diwali paraphernalia, having decided that the 'Diwali curse is clearly alive and well'.
MISHTI: What are you talking about?
DIPI: You. Moving to Sydney. We'll miss you like absolute crazy, but - yeah, you can't let that stand in your way.
They hug emotionally, both tearing up.
MISHTI: It wasn't meant to go like this.
DIPI: I'm so happy for you, little sis.
MISHTI: In that case - maybe these need to stay out? We can have an early Diwali celebration before I go, and it can be a goodbye party as well.
DIPI: As long as you don't expect me not to cry!
They hug again.

Piper seems moderately appalled by Terese's revelation that Leo is her secret beau; she thought it was Paul. Piper points out that Leo is Paul's son, and so much younger than Terese. Terese admits this is why she didn't tell Piper sooner.
PIPER: I'm sorry - it's just, with Tyler and me, you were so against the age gap.
TERESE: Yeah - because you were at high school when the two of you got together. I mean, you can understand that now? ... Look, with everything else you've been going through, I didn't want to spring my relationship on you.
PIPER: Relationship? Wow, so this isn't just a fling?
TERESE: We genuinely care about each other.
PIPER: Well, Paul must be fuming!
TERESE: That's why Leo's staying at the backpackers'.
PIPER: Where I used to live with Tyler, and where Cassius also used to live! So, what, you're just gonna be, like, bunking there with Leo now?!
TERESE: No, hardly! Listen, I'm sorry - will you be able to get used to the idea?
PIPER: I don't know. This... I just need some time to process it.
Harold's Café
Bea and Ned come in, discussing the Tyler/Piper situation, which they agree must be difficult. Bea gets talking about her counselling; they've been talking in sessions about her stress triggers, such as things that remind her of Finn.
BEA: And my run-ins with Cassius, and how I froze when he went off at me at the garage. The goal is to be able to feel strong enough to deal with those situations when I feel threatened (...) She thinks it's a good idea that I confront these people that have made me feel that way in the past. When I'm ready, obviously - which I don't think I am yet. And it's not like I can talk to Finn, anyway.
NED: You could confront Cassius. Go to the prison and let him know how he affected you.
BEA: Oh, I dunno.
But Ned offers to come with Bea, purely as a support. Bea hesitates, then agrees. Ned says he'll make arrangements with the prison.
Leo comes in, and all the extras randomly stare at him! David is with him, and Leo apologises for the way David had to find out about him and Terese. David says he understands that Leo wouldn't have wanted him to be complicit in hurting Paul.
LEO: I ended up hurting him anyway.
DAVID: We don't always have a say in who we fall for.
Leo says that Terese is worth losing his home and job for, and that he'll just focus on running the backpackers' and stay out of Paul's hair. David offers to talk to Paul on Leo's behalf, as he doesn't want them becoming estranged. Leo is hesitant, but reluctantly agrees.
The Waterhole
David is talking to Paul, but having little success!
PAUL: Absolutely not!
DAVID: I know you're hurt...
PAUL: Hurt doesn't even begin to cover it! Leo knew exactly how I felt about Terese, more than anyone else, and he completely disregarded it. So, no - I don't want to see him.
David suggests Paul might feel differently when he comes back from his planned Darwin trip, but Paul says he's not running away from the situation.
PAUL: Leo can slum it at the backpackers', and if Terese is finding it more uncomfortable working with me, then she can quit!
DAVID: Is this really how you want things? I thought family was everything to you? You've already put Amy at arm's length because of Gary. Do you want to lose Leo too?
Erinsborough Backpackers
A humiliated Leo drags a pillow and duvet upstairs to the mezzanine room at the backpackers'. Paul turns up downstairs, and looks around furtively...

Ned is on the phone to the prison, arranging his visit with Bea to see Cassius. Piper comes in, and Ned is evasive about what he was talking about - saying simply that the call was 'to help out Bea'. Terese comes in too, and announces she's going to see Leo and find out how he's doing. Still a bit grossed out by it all, Piper doesn't reply, and Terese leaves.
Once she's gone, Ned suggests Piper should be more supportive to Terese. Piper says she can't pretend to be cool with the relationship with Leo, which she says is 'weird'. However, Ned says that Terese's Feelings™ for Leo are real, and that she's been struggling with them for a while. The timing is not ideal, but Piper should really get in Terese's corner, Ned says - she'd do the same for her.
Ned leaves to meet Bea, and Piper looks thoughtful.
Warrinor Prison
Bea is nervously waiting to see Cassius, with Ned at her side. Cassius comes in, and sits down.
CASSIUS (to Ned): I wasn't surprised when they told me that you were gonna come and visit me. Ned, I am so sorry for what I put Piper through. I know it's hard to understand -
NED: It's not me you need to speak to. It's Bea.
BEA: I don't think it's a good idea that we came here.
NED: Well, we don't have to stay. We can go whenever you want.
BEA: No - not yet. I wanted to come here today, to make sure you know how your actions made me feel.
CASSIUS: ... Did you know Hamish?
BEA: No. But you still affected me a lot. The way you went off at me those times, they brought up some really difficult memories.
CASSIUS: Bea, I am so sorry for the way that my actions made you feel. I just lost all control, and -
BEA: No, I'm not finished. My history of being on the streets, being in an abusive relationship - your behaviour was a massive trigger. And I need to get it all out.
Erinsborough Backpackers
Outside, Mishti has come to visit Leo, and explains that she's leaving Erinsborough tomorrow. She's going to transfer to the New South Wales police and if things work out with Pavan, stay there permanently. Mishti invites Leo to her farewell party tonight, saying she'd love it if he was there - and Terese if she's free.
LEO: To be honest, I don't know if I would ever have been good enough for Terese, if it wasn't for you. I know we had our issues, but that pesky moral compass of yours - it had an effect on me.
MISHTI: Sorry - am I hearing you right?
LEO: Yes - yes, for the record, I think being with you made me a better person. And, look, I'm really happy everything's going well for you.
MISHTI: Thank you.
They hug. But at that moment, a gaggle of extras runs out of the backpackers' holding their noses...
The Waterhole
Ned and Bea are talking about their prison visit. Bea says it was terrifying, but good to get things off her chest, which has made her feel validated. Ned congratulates her for facing up to Cassius, and asks if she can now get past what happened with him. Bea says yes, but wonders whether talking to Finn would have the same effect.
NED: I don't think Finn is capable of taking responsibility for himself. I mean, from what you've told me, he likes to blame everyone else for his bad behaviour.
BEA: Definitely. But still, I can't help imagining what it'd be like. He hasn't even been found yet - maybe he never will. I've just got to get him out of my head.
Erinsborough Backpackers
Leo has hired some tradies to sort out what appears to be a serious plumbing issue at the backpackers'. Terese turns up, just as all the guests are leaving, still holding their noses. Leo explains that a pipe has broken and flooded the dorms, and the toilets won't flush, meaning he'll be out of business for a while.
Leo asks how Piper took the news about them; Terese says she'll just need some time to get used to the idea, like everyone. Paul turns up, swaggering.
PAUL (smug): I hear you've got a little bit of a plumbing problem. That's a shame, isn't it?
Leo and Terese exchange a glance, suspecting that Paul is to blame for the pipe leak.

Mishti's farewell party is in full swing, with attendees including Dipi, Shane, Yashvi, Kirsha, Susan, Toadie, Sonya, Nell and Bea. Yashvi and Bea strike up a conversation.
BEA: Look, I hope you don't mind that I'm here. I know we haven't had a chance to chat since the other day with Xanthe (...)
YASHVI: I'm glad you came, okay?
Yashvi asks if Bea is okay as she seems different. Bea explains she went to the prison.
YASHVI: Cos that always makes a girl feel good (!)
They move off to chat about it. Meanwhile, Terese turns up, with a farewell gift for Mishti - followed closely by Mark and Elly. On the sofa, Sonya, Dipi and Susan are gossiping about Amy's love-life!
DIPI: Gary is a doll, but I mean, come on - Dr Rob!
SONYA: No, I think that Amy and Gary are perfect for each other. I can see why Kyle would be thrown by it, though.
SUSAN: I've certainly seen stranger couplings!
At which point, Terese joins the conversation.
TERESE: Like me and Leo?
SUSAN: There you are, finally! I've been dying to hear all about it!
TERESE: Really?
SUSAN: Absolutely - sit down! (...) It certainly explains that glow you've been sporting lately!
The gossiping continues, as Terese feels validated by her friends' support...
Erinsborough Backpackers
David is helping Leo clear up at the backpackers' following the evacuation. David suggests Leo come with him to Mishti's party to take his mind off things, but Leo says he's texted her to say he can't make it, due to the cleaning up he's having to do. David is a bit surprised by the idea Paul would vandalise the backpackers', as it would hurt his back pocket too.
LEO: I don't think he's caring about that right now. He's hurt, and he's lashing out.
Piper turns up. She asks David how Tyler's doing; David says he's mostly staying in his room, but that he's sure Tyler will be in touch with Piper soon. She doesn't look so sure. David heads off to Mishti's party, while Piper sticks around to talk to Leo.
LEO: Alright, let me have it. You think me and your mum is a terrible idea, and we should've been honest with you.
PIPER: I was thrown. I'm all over the place at the moment, because of... everything. But I do think that you guys could be good together.
LEO: Seriously?
PIPER: I'm a fan of anything that makes my mum happy, and - yeah, she has been a lot happier since you've been seeing her. Although I find it extremely weird that she'll be hanging out with a bunch of backpackers, and bunking up in that loft! Where is everyone, anyway? And what is that smell?

Mishti is talking to Yashvi and Kirsha.
MISHTI: I'm gonna miss you guys so much. What amazing young women you're turning out to be.
KIRSHA: We'll miss you too.
YASHVI: Not for long, though - I'm already campaigning for a solo trip after I finish school. Please tell me you and Pavan are planning on living close to the SCG.
KIRSHA: I don't mind where you live. Just so long as you're happy.
MISHTI: I love you both!
They have a group hug. Meanwhile, Toadie clinks his glass to silence the assembled RSRs, and calls for some speeches. But Mishti notices that Shane and Dipi are absent, and heads to look for them.
She finds them on the patio, where Dipi is crying and Shane is comforting her. Diwali lights are flickering everywhere. tells Mishti she warned her there would be tears, then gets up to hug her.
DIPI: You know, I meant what I said about you being happy (...) I'm gonna miss you so much. Everything's about to change.
MISHTI: That's not a terrible thing, though. I mean, you don't want your baby sister living with you forever. What would that say about the state of my life? And it's because of you guys that I'm leaving.
SHANE: Oh, thanks very much (!)
MISHTI: In a good way, you doofus.
Shane and Mishti hug.
MISHTI: I was a mess when I got here. I couldn't imagine ever getting over Zander, and if it wasn't for you both, and the care you took of me, I don't know where I'd be. Certainly not about to get married.
SHANE: To a wisecracking dentist.
DIPI: Said the balladeering inventor!
MISHTI: I always wanted a marriage like you guys. And I know in my heart that Pavan is the man who can give me that.
Dipi is still crying, as is Mishti. They agree to give the 'Diwali curse' a run for its money, and light a basketful of candles mounted on colourful flowers, which they proceed to set afloat in the swimming pool. Shane, Mishti and Dipi have an emotional group hug as they watch the candle-flowers floating on the water.
Paul's Penthouse
Paul lingers on the balcony alone, looking sad.

Nell is making a farewell card for Mishti, while Susan and Sonya pester Terese for 'all the Leo details'.
TERESE: Surely you and Karl are back on track - you don't need to live vicariously through me, thank you!
SUSAN: There is always room for vicarious detail!
Sonya moans about her own lack of romantic action at present, having to juggle work with looking after Nell and Hugo. She's desperate for them both to get a spot at daycare, and Susan jokingly suggests that Leo could be the Rebecchis' live-in nanny now that Paul's kicked him out. Sonya asks where else he could go - Terese's place?
TERESE: No, no - it is way too early for that.
SUSAN: Are you sure?
TERESE: Very!
No 22
But when Terese gets home, she finds Leo and his suitcase in the front room! Piper is there too, and explains she has invited Leo to move in! Piper apologises for how she reacted to their relationship at first, but says that...
PIPER: All I've ever wanted is for you to find someone that makes you happy, and... I mean, you've found him, so that's all that matters (...) It just didn't feel right, you having to stay at the backpackers' when there's no running water (...) Just take it as me proving to you guys just how cool I am about you two!
Terese couldn't look more horrified that Leo is moving in!
LEO: Things just got pretty real, huh?
TERESE (strained): It's wonderful!
