- Paul tells Jimmy he doesn't "need" a smart watch; Jimmy says it's for Kirsha, and Paul says there are plenty of ways for him to make money
- Jimmy steals mini bar bottles from Xanthe's housekeeping trolley
- Steph tells Jack she would have asked him to come with her but he can't miss Gabe's first Christmas
- Paige tells Jack they have to make sure they always support each other
- Amy asks Jack if he's starting to have feelings for Paige again; Jack says she's with Mark and he's with Steph
Steph arrives home on her bike.
Toadie welcomes Steph home. She can't wait to get back to work at the retreat. She tells Toadie about her Christmas; she and Lyn were closer than they've been in ages and her best present was seeing Adam. She gets a text from Jack asking when she's getting in, which is strange as she thought she told him.
However, Jack has been collecting Paige and Gabe from the airport. They discuss Louise; Paige hopes she ends up behind bars. Jack thinks Gabe has grown in the last week! Paige tells him how Gabe was giggling over a dog licking his face and they talk about getting him a pet when he's older.

A bird's eye shot of Mishti getting out of the pool.
Mishti enters the house and finds Leo is there. Shane returns from a meeting with Levi Jansen. He nailed it; Jansen is going to put Shane's urine powered generators in all his restaurants. Dipi is proud of him. Leo asks about the terms and tells him to make sure he gets everything in writing. Dipi says she thinks Shane knows what he's doing.
LEO: I just wish I could think of a "wee" joke right now!
SHANE: Yeah, no, no time for jokes... I've got to check the generator for "leaks"!
Jack arrives with Gabe to see Steph and explains that Paige and Steph just got back as well. He asks if they can take a rain check on lunch today as he wants to spend more time with Paige and Gabe. Steph suggests she come too.
Leo is telling Terese that Paul has made him Head of Business Affairs. Terese tells him she's putting on a big promotional event; someone gets the opportunity to win the party of a lifetime. People will pin their entries on the wishing tree and the event will be on the 12th. Leo points out that's the day before Tyler's trial but Terese says it's the only date all their function areas are available. Leo tells her there's been a discrepancy with the minibar stock from Xanthe's trolley and Terese says she'll talk to her.
Jimmy is at the side of Harold's, trying to sell the alcohol to Tia's brother Gus. Gus will only take them if Jimmy can get more. Paul comes along and interrupts them, telling Jimmy he's thought of some entrepreneurial ideas that they can talk about. Jimmy says maybe later but Paul reminds him there's no such thing as easy money.
Xanthe comes in, wearing her housekeeping uniform. Gary has missed her as she's been staying over with Ben, but he has a new recipe to try this evening if she's interested. Terese comes in and asks Xanthe about the missing stock. Xanthe says she didn't think anyone would notice the soaps and shampoos she took for Gran but Terese says it was alcohol; perhaps she made a mistake with her paperwork? Xanthe says she's usually so careful and apologises.
Jimmy has stolen a master pass and swiped more bottles for Gus. He tells him he's only doing this until he gets the money he needs but Gus threatens to dob him in if he doesn't keep doing it. Gus leaves and Sonya, passing by, checks that Gus wasn't bullying Jimmy. Jimmy claims everything is fine.
Shane is booking a table to celebrate his deal. Leo asks him what exactly Jansen is paying for. Shane has agreed to a flat fee for the generators and they didn't discuss who is paying for the modifications to the restaurants. It rings alarm bells for Leo but Shane is just pleased he's willing to take a chance on him. Leo suggests he call Jansen and tell him he has other meetings; he may offer more money.
Steph brings the drinks and clearly feels like a spare part as she listens to Paige and Jack having a friendly disagreement over whether Gabe liked pumpkin and whether or not he smiled at two days old (he did; we saw it!).
Back home, Steph tells Toadie she suddenly feels like a third wheel. Toadie reminds her what Jack and Paige have been through with the kidnapping. Steph says she had been trying not to think long term about jack but she missed him while she was away; if he felt the same he'd have been on the doorstep this morning. Toadie thinks they just need time to reconnect.
An angry guest (John) is asking Brandon on reception to take the mini bar drinks off of his bill as he never had them; he's on liver medication. Leo intervenes and offers his apologies.
Leo has done a full stock-take and reports to Terese that stock has gone missing from rooms Xanthe stocked. Terese says she's spoken to Xanthe and she doesn't think she did this. Paul reminds her that Xanthe is Brooke's daughter and offers to talk to her but Terese says she will deal with it.
PAUL: Yeah well just don't let family connections get in the way of punishing a thief on staff.
Jack meets Toadie who tells him Steph isn't feeling like a priority for him at the moment. Jack says he's just trying to be a good dad and support Paige. Toadie tells him he's doing a great job but maybe there's a way to find a better balance?
Dipi overhears Shane on the phone to Levi Jansen and he tells her he was just trying to get a better deal. He confesses it was Leo's idea but Dipi tells him it's his invention and he's the one with everything at stake.
SHANE: Leo made me realise I need to look after number one... that's actually a pretty good wee joke!
Shane says he trusts Leo; everything is going to work out fine.

Leo arrives as Shane gets the bad news from Jansen; he's pulled out. Leo says he's so sorry but there will be other buyers. Shane despondently says he's done. Leo offers to put a generator in the backpackers but he can't pay him; it's just about exposure. Shane reluctantly agrees.

Gary, Terese and Xanthe have finished dinner and Gary takes the dishes inside. Terese tells Xanthe that some more alcohol went missing and Xanthe can't understand where it's going. Gary returns wearing a dinosaur onesie and has a matching one for Xanthe. He's happy to look like an idiot if it means Xanthe forgives him. Xanthe says they're all good so long as he knows she's a big girl and can look after herself. She asks Terese what she was saying but Terese says it can wait.
The Flametree Retreat
Steph sees out some clients after dark. Jack appears in a dressing gown. He's paid the massage therapist to stay back and give them a couples' massage. Steph asks what about Gabe but Jack says he has him tomorrow. Steph wants him to do what he needs to do and Jack says this is what he needs. They kiss.
Shane brings home takeaway instead of going out for dinner because Levi Jansen has pulled out. Dipi says it's because he played games with him. Shane says Leo is going to put the generator in the backpackers and Dipi asks how much he's paying. When she realises he's not paying anything she accuses him of planning this all along. Mishti tells her not to blame Leo.
DIPI: Let me just get this straight. So he gave you advice knowing that it would backfire and now he's swooped in to pick up a freebie? [To Leo] We've accepted you into our family and this is how you re-pay us?
- Shane tells Dipi to keep her voice down but she yells that she doesn't care if he can hear her
- Leo asks if everything he does, he's trying to rip people off? Mishti says he knows she doesn't think that's true
- Jack asks why doesn't he choose the Catholic Godparent and Paige asks if he's already got one in mind
- Piper tells Toadie she doesn't see how it could be a bad thing but Toadie tells her she's treading a very fine line
