Number 24
Aaron is busy practicing the dance routine when David drops by with some supper for him, although when Rory arrives he suggests Aaron doesn't eat it as it's not suitable before an audition. Before he leaves, David confirms that he will meet Aaron at Harold's tomorrow for their brunch date.

Backpackers
Elly rushes after Jack wanting an explanation but one isn't forthcoming, so instead she rants at him for his accusations that they are betraying Paige and for having a go at Mark.

JACK: You can't deny you have a history of flirting.
ELLY: What, with my taken friends?

Elly reminds him she was the only one that watched his back at school when the complaints came in and points out that since he is a counsellor, he should know better! Jack apologises but she wants to know what he is apologising for - using her as a scapegoat for punching Mark or accusing her of being a boyfriend stealing skank!

Penthouse suite
Mark unloads to Amy what he thinks are Jack's issues - he is having difficulty with Mark being a surrogate father figure to Gabe. He is unsure if they can sort things out before Paige returns, but Amy thinks he should for Gabe, so the wee toot doesn't pick up on the tension between the adults.

Number 22
Toadie and Tyler finalise plans to discuss their stance during the trial and Terese wonders if it would help having the jury know how Tyler was raised. Tyler though doesn't want to use that as an excuse and Toadie isn't sure if it would backfire too by giving them a reason to show why Tyler could be violent.

Chat changes instead to Uni news - Piper will hear in the morning if she has been given a place at Uni or not. The lass thinks she hasn't done enough but Terese points out that 85.5% is great given the circumstances. Piper has a plan B ready though if she doesn't get in - taking a gap year.

Number 24
Once Rory heads to the shower, Elly asks Aaron "when did you two start marking Dirty Dancing 3?!" after seeing them dance close to each other when she entered the house. Aaron reassures her it's all innocent, he is merely teaching him the choreography for an audition and fills her in on how he is doing that. "He has an agenda," Elly tries to get through to him and also that David isn't comfortable and hasn't said anything because he doesn't want to come across as being needy. Aaron thinks everything will settle down once he aces the audition as Rory will be leaving town.

Number 22 (next day)
It is good news for Piper - she's got into her first-choice university... in Queensland! Terese didn't know she'd applied there and Piper quickly explains it was all last minute and she didn't think she would get in. Despite hearing she will be leaving in a month, both Tyler and Terese congratulate her.

Harold's café
Toadie and Sonya empathise with Terese's predicament - happy to hear they got in but sad that they will be leaving. Sonya points out that she won't be alone up there either given half her family live there! Terese also thinks that the distance will help Piper too given a jail sentence for Tyler is almost inevitable.

Meanwhile, Rory catches up with Aaron to say the audition time has been changed - it's now going to be in an hour's time, despite originally going to be in the evening! Aaron isn't pleased at his date with David being cancelled and Rory begs that Rough Trade and himself need it.

Penthouse suite
David is only half listening to Amy talk about what happened last night as he gets ready for his date with Aaron. Just as he is about to leave, he gets a text from Aaron cancelling the date. He isn't happy at feeling pushed away and Amy demands that he goes to the audition and tell Aaron how he feels.

Number 24
Mark has heard about Piper's news from Tyler and is thinking of the ramifications like missing his trial. "Yes, every bit of me is screaming 'don't let her go'," Tyler replies but wants her to take the opportunity. Their chat is interrupted when Jack calls by.

Jack begins by apologising to Mark and that he wasn't the one responsible for what happened to Gabe. He tries to explain that when Gabe was in danger, he wanted to be the strong one but ended up feeling useless hence calling the police. Mark admits that he wanted to be the one to find Gabe, to make it okay for Paige, and suggests that Jack doesn't call to explain as she's got enough to worry about with Gabe.

MARK: As long as we're cool? Yes?
JACK: Yes.

Lassiters Complex
Tyler is trying to convince Piper of the positives about moving to Queensland when he can sense her hesitation. He admits the thought of not seeing her every day terrifies him, but she has to live her life too and won't let her do that because of him.

Back Lane
Wow, it looks very impressive during the day as we see David arrive to talk to Aaron. He is outside limbering up and is somewhat surprised to see David but reassures him (after David does his best at ranting off) to say that he has nothing to worry about - he is just friends with Rory and owes him by doing the audition.

AARON: I promise you, after this audition is done, there's no more Rory okay.

Number 24
Elly calls round just as Mark finishes his call to Paige to let her know he is going to go and see Louise on trial at Port Lincoln, as he feels he needs to go for his dad. She wants to talk to him about what Jack said - them flirting. "Please know it wasn't my intention," she begins with and knows he is with Paige and having helped set them up, why would she get in the way? Mark confirms that he and Paige are happy together and adds that yesterday felt different, it felt like they were friends again. Elly backs that up too and Mark suggests they all could hangout when Paige returns? "I'd really like that," she responds before sharing a hug with Mark.

The Flametree Retreat
As she packs up after the yoga session, Amy dishes out a lecture to Jack! Jack promises to make it up to Paige but is glad Mark has put it all behind them, because he wants to be "the best person I can be for her." Amy questions the use of 'for her' and did he really mean Gabe, which causes him to backtrack immediately.

AMY: Jack, you're not starting to have feelings for Paige again, are you?
JACK: What no?! That would be crazy!
AMY: Not really, she is the mother of your child.
JACK: Yes, and she is with Mark and I'm with Steph.

Brick Lane/The Flametree Retreat
David calls his sister to talk about how the chat with Aaron went. "Not great," is how he describes things as Aaron is still going ahead with the audition. Amy suggests he goes into the audition but thinks it will be professional between them.

Number 22
Terese arrives home and has been chatting with Brad on the way - while he would love it if Piper stayed with him, she thought it better if Piper lived near the Uni and so, they've decided to pay for her first year in a student dorm. Tyler remarks that he thought she'd be freaking out at the through of Piper moving away, but she explains what is best for Piper comes first. "Absolutely," he replies and finally Piper acknowledges what Terese is suggesting - while she is grateful for the accommodation offer, she's just emailed the Dean to defer for a year. "Why?" Terese asks and Piper explains that she wants to stay here and its not up for discussion either!

PIPER: I'm not going.

Back Lane Bar
Aaron is strutting his stuff for the watching Crystal (and Rory) who is not only impressed at what she has seen but wants him to be involved in the gig at Hobart. Before Aaron can even get a word in, Rory has accepted, and a happy Crystal moves off. David, who came in just as the routine ended, is standing like a stunned mullet.

Aaron finally gets a chance to protest but Rory isn't listening and just thinks Crystal was flirting with him.

DAVID: What, like you're doing right now?!
RORY: Hey.
DAVID: (ignoring Rory) Can't shake hands like any other set of colleagues?!

"Ooh, is it getting hot in here or what?" Rory remarks (and acts as if he is about to strip) and asks what he has done wrong? When he opens his jacket fully, we see a t-shirt promoting the Rough Trade tour of Paris 2017. Aaron just looks at him and David has put 2 and 2 together.

DAVID: You've been to Paris?
RORY: Yeah, we've toured there a few times.
DAVID: Were you there in November?

The silence and the look on Aaron's face is enough to give David his answer and he turns and walks out of the empty bar. "Let me explain," Aaron yells as he rushes to follow David out of the door.

Brick Lane
David asks if Aaron saw Rory in Paris (yes) and then if that was the only reason he went, to hook up with Rory again? "No," Aaron immediately replies and explains that Rory saw he was in Paris and stopped by the hotel. He confirms that he'd not spoken to Rory for years previously and denies David's accusation that he hooked up with him in Paris. Aaron explains that the only thing that happened was Rory using his French to change the flights around.

AARON: Nothing happened.
DAVID: Then why, when I showed you a photo of him, weren't honest about the whole thing?
AARON: Yes, I should have.
DAVID: Why would you only tell me half the truth if you had nothing to hide?
AARON: Because I was trying to protect you David!
DAVID: (scoffing) Protect me?!
AARON: Yes, look I know it seems stupid, but when I saw him, it meant nothing to me alright. And bringing it up it just seemed like making a bigger deal than it actually is.
DAVID: Is that why you asked him to keep quiet too?
AARON: ...
DAVID: Yeah. He told me.
AARON: David, this is just...
DAVID: (interrupting) Stop. I don't want to hear any more.

David then turns and walks away from Aaron, up the lane.
