Xanthe is distant as Elly tells Gary and Sheila that Finn has confessed and will be taken to a prison hospital. Gary tells Xanthe it's all over and thinks they should celebrate but Xanthe goes to lie down on her bed and cries.
Dipi gives a miserable David his coffee and asks Yashvi and Kirsha if they want to ask her any questions about Mr. Kelly.
YASHVI: Yeah, I do. Who tried to top him?! Was it Xanthe or her dad because no- one I've talked to...
DIPI: It wasn't either of them.
YASHVI: Maybe her gran then! Do you think I'll have to testify? I'm prepared to I guess.
DIPI: Yash, it's not about you.
Dipi says there will be a lot of talk and she doesn't want any of it coming from then. Kirsha says Xanthe will be sad so they have to be thoughtful about her feelings. The girls leave as Susan and Ben come in. Dipi asks Susan what action the school will be taking and Susan says there will be a letter and a meeting for parents. Ben worries that Xanthe will be humiliated if all the details are in the letter. Susan promises to do all she can to protect her.
Amy is treating Jimmy to a hotel breakfast as it's been a rough few days. Jimmy says he doesn't deserve it as he knew Xanthe liked someone older but he wanted to prove she could trust him. Amy assures Jimmy none of this is his fault.
Shane is driving Roly the lawnmower through the complex, telling Aaron and Mishti the pitch has to be perfect. Aaron thinks this Charles guy will make an offer before the presentation is even over. Of course, he will go in low, so they will have to knock back his first offer. Shane thinks they should accept it if it's reasonable. Aaron goes off to buy coffee and runs into David. He offers a shoulder to cry on but David bites his head off.
DAVID: Could you be more smug? And chirpy? Glowing in fact!
David tells Aaron he saw him with Tom at the Waterhole and walks off.
Charles the investor arrives and tells Aaron, Shane and Mishti he only has an hour. Aaron tries to talk about the mower but gets muddled and Charles starts to walk away. Shane quickly takes over and does a better job. Mishti demonstrates the mower and Charles looks impressed.
Yashvi doesn't want Kirsha hugging her at school. A boy, Luke, comes along and asks Yashvi if she knows Xanthe Canning is pregnant with Mr. Kelly's baby!
Ben and Susan arrive and Ben is thinking about dropping in to see Xanthe but she's not answering his calls. Susan tells him to just let her know he's there and be a good friend. Elly hurries up to them; she's heard from Mark that Finn wants to see them and Xanthe. Ben quite wants to see what kind of excuses he comes up with but Susan warns them to be prepared for more of the same.
Charles is going to discuss the mower with his board and will get back to them. Aaron apologises to Shane for stuffing up but Shane is feeling positive.
Finn tries to explain to Elly that he was backed into a corner when he set her up, and that he still loves her!
ELLY: Finn, when you love someone you don't try and destroy everything that's important to them!
Finn claims he wasn't well but Elly reminds him she knew him before the aneurysm.
ELLY: When I walk out that door I'll be free to get on with my life but you… you'll be in jail with years and years to think about what you've done.
Xanthe overhears Sheila telling Gary that she should be told, and so they have to tell her that Finn has asked to see her. Gary tells her she doesn't have to and he and Sheila argue about it. Xanthe asks if she'd have to go alone but Sheila says one of them would go with her. They're 100% behind her, whatever her decision.
Xanthe has arrived with Gary. Finn tells her he never should have involved her. He didn't know how long he had and the lines got blurred. He manipulated her and used her as a scapegoat. Xanthe turns to leave but Finn tells her to wait... the thing he's most sorry for is for leading her on. He shouldn't have said he had feelings for her, but he wasn't lying about her being the best friend he ever had.
Shane has a phone call which doesn't sound very promising... which in Erinsborough of course means he's got a deal! He thanks Aaron and insists on paying him his commission. Mishti takes Aaron aside and asks what went wrong with the presentation anyway. Aaron tells her about the situation with Tom and David.
AARON: He admitted he had feelings for me.
MISTHI: Which he?
MISHTI: He David or he Tom?
AARON: Sorry, I'm confused!
MISHTI: Which one admitted he liked you?
AARON: Oh, no, Tom.
MISHTI: So he ended things with David?
AARON: Yeah, and now David's upset with me because he thinks I'm seeing Tom.
MISHTI: Are you?
AARON: No, I just said I like David.
MISHTI: OK, now my brain's starting to hurt!
Mishti tells Aaron they've had one win today and to go and make it two.
Ben arrives and Sheila tells him to see if he can get Xanthe to talk. Ben tells Xanthe he's heading to see Finn but wanted to see her first; he's here to support her. Xanthe cries and Ben asks what Finn said to her. Xanthe tells him and Ben agrees that she is special.
XANTHE: No, I'm not, I'm the complete opposite.
BEN: The opposite?
XANTHE: I am the most non- special human in the world. I'm stupid and I'm dumb and I'm an idiot.
BEN: No you're not Xanthe...
XANTHE: Shut up! Just shut up! Everyone always thought that I was so stupid and now I've finally proved them right. I'm the most evil, most horrible human in the entire world and everyone would just be better off without me.
Xanthe runs to her room.
Susan tells Finn it doesn't matter how far he intended things to go; he has to face the consequences. Finn tells Ben he's a good kid and he never set out to break up him and Xanthe. He claims he brought him closer to his father by giving him the tools to become a mechanic.
BEN: Don't you talk about my dad! Don't you even think about him!
Ben says there's not the slightest mention of regret or apology and storms out. Susan asks Finn if there's anything else.
FINN: Susan, you of all people should understand I did what I had to do. When you're running out of time all bets are off.
SUSAN: No, see that's where you're wrong. That's exactly the time when you look inward, when you become more self- aware, more reflective. That's when you try to live your best life, not destroy everything around you. [A police officer arrives outside the door] Oh look at that, they're coming for you.
FINN: Susan, please help me. I know it's not in your nature to turn your back when someone needs help. Tell them it wasn't me. Say it was my illness. I can't go to jail!
SUSAN: This wasn't your illness, this was you. And Ben's right; you're not sorry. I hope for your sake that one day you do gain some insight and are actually capable of taking responsibility for what you've done... but I doubt it!
Aaron arrives and asks David if he can talk to him. He tells him nothing is going on with Tom and it's disappointing that he thinks so little of him. If he thinks he would be that deceitful he doesn't know him at all. He tells him he nearly ruined his presentation and he's not up for this level of drama.
Luke and Yashvi are joking about Finn and Xanthe when Ben comes along and asks Yashvi if she talks about all her friends like that.
YASHVI: He's just upset because Xanthe likes older guys.
LUKE: Should've brushed up on your dad jokes, maybe then she wouldn't have broken up with you.
Ben shoves Luke but Yashvi gets caught in the crossfire and is knocked down.
