- Xanthe breaks up with Ben.
- Ben tells Xanthe that Finn may have drugged Susan.
- Aaron feels intimidated by David's intelligence.
- Lauren tells Jack off for letting Paige go into the Bush.
- Amy tells Jack to take his time over making his decision to leave the priesthood.
- Jack and Paige fuss over their baby.
Piper is taking photos of Paige and the (s)world's largest(/s) newborn baby. Lauren coos over the baby while Paige says she's going to attempt to breastfeed again. In a Very Special Scene, Lauren extolls the virtues of breastfeeding but how all feeding methods are valid options.
Jack comes in as Paige is trying to get the baby to latch on to her breast (inexplicably through her T- shirt). Lauren apologises to Jack for shouting at him the other day.
Dipi tells Mishto that Lauren wants to drop in and say hello to her. She is stressing out, saying that Lauren is a legend. She tells Mishti to go and clean the kitchen while Dipi mops the floors!
Finn comes in and sees Xanthe. She is a bit off with him and tells him she's really busy.
Piper is showing Jack her photos of Gabe. Lauren gets a text back from Dipi saying that it's fine to visit Harold's Store any time.
A nurse comes in and asks if they've chosen a name yet. Apparently they're going to keep the baby's surname as Smith (because it's such an unusual name?!)
JACK: Have you got an idea for a first name?
PAIGE: Well...I want the baby to be Catholic, because that's really important to you...I was thinking...Gabriel, after the Archangel. Only if you like it.
JACK: Yes...I love that. We can call him Gabe, then?
PAIGE: Yeah, perfect!
Now that the baby's religious preferences have been decided for it(!) Jack leans over his crib.
JACK: Welcome to this world, Gabriel Smith.
Karl asks Xanthe how she is as she's looking a bit stressed. Xanthe asks Susan if she's had an MS relapse. Susan tells her that at first they thought so, but the tests show something else - a medication mix up. Xanthe won't drop it despite that Kennedys discomfort at the direction of the conversation.
At the reception, Jack gives the nurse Gabriel's form. She looks hard at his dog collar and asks if he really wants to be listed as Gabriel's father as it might have "implications for his welfare later on". (Seriously, what? This is the 21st century) Jack pointedly tells her that it's none of her business.
Dipi is frantically cleaning in preparation for Lauren's visit. Mishti asks David about Aaron's dancing. She advises him to call Aaron to talk to him, but David says the ball is in Aaron's court.
Xanthe asks David if it's easy to mix up medications due to work stress. David says that actually, no, there are a lot of double- checks in place. Xanthe looks conflicted.
Ellie and David are visiting Paige. David is quite pleased that the lie they told about him being the father no longer holds, as Gabe doesn't look at all Japanese(!) He would like to be a father one day though.
Aaron pops in with a teddy for Gabe. He and David exchange awkward glasses.
Lauren is looking at the new menu for Harold's and thinks it's brilliant. Dipi is relieved. Jack comes in and he and Lauren talk about Jack's situation with the Church. He thanks Lauren for being there to help Paige. Apparently Brad and Ned are still stuck in Thailand(!) It seems Matilda is ill again but has Amber and Lauren's mother to help look after her.
Xanthe comes to see Finn. She tells him that she's broken up with Ben. She asks him directly about him taking Piper's medication and whether stole it. She tells him she believes he didn't poison Susan, but him taking the medication makes it looks bad for him. Suddenly Finn clutches his head and staggers off into the bathroom. Xanthe is distraught.
Xanthe calls to Finn through the door and he eventually opens it. She thinks he should go to a hospital before they go to see Susan. Finn says he can't do it.
FINN: Because of you, Xanthe. You must know how I feel about you.
FINN: I'd hoped never to talk about this, and we can't ever again, OK? Nothing can happened between us, obviously. But Xanthe, if you tell anyone that I took Piper's pills, the best case scenario is that they transfer me to another school. And I can't do that. Because I can't live without you. So, will you keep this secret for me? For us?
XANTHE: ...I need to think about this.
Lauren and Piper are still visiting Paige and Gabe. Tyler is there too and is clearly a bit worried by Piper's interest in the baby(!) She assures him that she doesn't want her own yet!
PIPER: At least one person in the family needs to be able to use birth control properly!
Paige attempts to feed Gabe (through her T- shirt again) and this time he miraculously latches on.
Garden of No.22
Sheila sympathises with Xanthe about her breakup with Ben, but she isn't bothered. When Sheila has gone, Jimmy tells Xanthe that he never thought Ben was good enough for her anyway(!)
They sit down and Xanthe tells him that she's found out that close guy friend has feelings for her. Jimmy looks confused and asks Xanthe if she feels the same. Xanthe says she's never really thought about this person in that way, but now she'll have to re- evaluate. She asks Jimmy to keep it a secret.
Mark has come to visit Paige and Gabe. She offers him a hold of the baby, but he says he'll wait until next time. Paige says it seems crazy now that she thought she wasn't ready to have a baby when she and Mark were together - life would be a lot simpler if it were Mark's baby and not Jack's. Mark says his life would be simpler too. They hug.
Jack and Lauren are talking about a potential Christening for Gabe. Just then, Lauren's mother rings and tells her that Amber is in hospital with a burst appendix! Jack asks if Lauren needs to go back up North but she assures Jack everything is fine and that he shouldn't tell Paige.
Finn is brooding about what Xanthe will do.
Finn rings Xanthe and she answers it. He asks her if he's freaked her out. They agree not to tell Susan about Piper's pills.
FINN: I don't know how to thank you, Xanthe. You're amazing. You're the best!
XANTHE: You don't have to thank me. It's for both of us.
FINN: Goodnight, Xanthe.
XANTHE: Goodnight, Mr. Kelly.
When they've hung up, Xanthe looks at her necklace and then lies back on her bed.
