Number 28
Finn wakes Elly up to let her know he's leaving - he doesn't want to risk the chance of bumping into Susan in the morning. He gives Elly a kiss on the forehead and says they're meant to be together.

Erinsborough Backpackers
Tyler's trying to chat with Piper over breakfast about Ben's great progress at the garage but Piper's distracted by her new mate, Canadian backpacker T-Bone. Tyler isn't impressed with all the laughing and bonding over Canadian things going on between the two and heads off to work in a bit of a mood.

Harold's Café
Gary offers Terese a bunch of flowers and wants to know why she's been giving him the cold shoulder since last night. Terese takes him aside and says that she knows the limber ladybird isn't just their "special thing" - Gary and Brooke did it too! Gary puts his foot in it further by admitting that Brooke was the one who invented the move. Terese is aghast and quickly leaves with her flowers.

Meanwhile, Finn's on the phone to the school board making a complaint about how an issue is being handled at Erinsborough High involving the principal.

Lassiter's Complex
Terese stares at a little ladybird crawling on top of her flowers. She tries to shoo it away but it won't budge. If looks could kill, that ladybird would be up in flames by now.

Number 28
Susan senses that Elly is perturbed by something but she says it's nothing she can't handle. Toadie offers to drive Ben and Elly to their respective workplaces just as Terese pops in to have an emergency chat with Susan. Terese fills Susan in on what's bugging her and says Brooke's made her feel inadequate. She's worried that Brooke's going to try and lure Gary back into her clutches. Susan says that as soon as another conquest comes along Brooke will be too distracted to worry about Gary, which plants an idea in Terese's mind.

The Waterhole
Paul pretty much laughs in Terese's face when she suggests he takes Brooke out for a nice dinner. He says he's not into dating bogans, which Terese claims Brooke isn't. But Brooke calls out a hello to them as she's picking up her takeaway "cup-of-chino" and Terese begrudgingly admits there may be some bogan in her. Paul states that he's not a fan of hand-me-downs either and Terese smirks and asks if he's afraid of being compared to Gary in the dating stakes. They banter back and forth until Paul gives in and tells her to set up the date.

Erinsborough High
Xanthe mopes by the lockers while Piper checks out her phone.

XANTHE: I still can't believe that Ben's not here anymore.
PIPER: Xanthe you're making it sound like he's died.
XANTHE: (she whacks Piper's arm) Don't say that!

Piper says that if it's any consolation Tyler loves working with Ben. Xanthe gives her an odd look when Piper starts laughing at her phone but she just says it's a funny video T-Bone sent her.

Elly notices Susan looking agitated and Susan tells her she's just had a phone call from the department about a complaint they received. Apparently she went too easy on Wayne and now she's got no choice but to stand him down permanently and find a replacement. Elly sees Finn walk by, who gives her a smile, but she's not in the smiling mood as a worrying thoughts continue to plague her about his intentions.

Lassiter's Beauty Spa
Terese drops by just as Brooke's about to give a massage to Sheila and lets her know that Paul's interested in taking her to dinner. Brooke's confused by the offer given her scam-related history with him and Sheila wonders why Terese is doing all the matchmaking for "Bags" since they used to date. Terese says that's all in the past and that Paul and Brooke would make a better match than they ever did. Brooke smiles and says, "I suppose one date couldn't hurt".

Erinsborough High
Xanthe grins at Finn, happy to note that his relationship with Elly is progressing nicely. Finn smiles and claims he has no idea what she's talking about. He spies Susan and quickly rushes over to ask if he could throw his hat into the ring to become acting assistant principal. He knows she wants another teacher in the role but he doesn't think it's fair that other people can't apply. Wary of Finn's intentions, Susan keeps a neutral smile on her face and says she'll schedule an interview for him that afternoon.

Garage
Ben asks if Tyler's OK as he's been in a funny mood all morning. Tyler admits there's a "douche" from Canada at the Backpackers that Piper's getting along with and it's made him realise how different he and Piper are. He's worried she's too smart for him and that he'll get left behind one day when Piper decides to spread her wings and explore the world. Ben says that won't happen, Tyler and Piper love each other too much. But Tyler doesn't look too appeased by Ben's words.

Erinsborough High
Susan's initially pleased to see Trent from the education department step into her office with Finn in tow, but not so much when he says she'll have to remove herself from the interview selection process because of a "conflict of interest". Susan gapes at Finn as he explains that he and Elly are seeing each other again. Susan says that it should be her call whether or not she steps down from the interview panel, but Trent says that it's fairer if he makes that decision this time around.

Erinsborough Backpackers
Tyler arrives back just in time to hear the end of a guitar performance T-Bone's doing, which Piper is recording to put on her blog. Tyler tells Piper that he and Ben are thinking about doing a short course on the weekend to further their skills. But once again instead of being engaged in the conversation, Piper is distracted by old mate T-Bone. This time she excitedly tells him about her friend Ben and how they should play some music together. She also inadvertently sticks the boot into Tyler by saying that Ben should study music therapy like T-Bone as it seems like not pursuing a music career is "a bit of a waste" of Ben's skills.

Number 26
Brooke does a little twirl in her date outfit for Xanthe, Sheila and Terese.

TERESE: Wow-ee, you're gonna knock Paul's socks off!
SHEILA: Or his fake leg. (Off Brooke's shocked look) Oh, didn't Terese tell you about that?
TERESE: Oh, well, Paul's never let his disability get in the way of a good time.
SHEILA: You'd know.

Xanthe thinks it's great her mum's dating again, much to Brooke's relief. Xanthe just hopes there'll be no scamming involved but Brooke says she's purely in it for the male company and the free dinner. Paul arrives and hands Brooke a single red rose, which makes Xanthe swoon ("It's just like The Bachelor, except real!"). Gary gets home just in time to see Paul and Brooke make their exit, not looking too pleased that his ex is on a date with Terese's ex.

Number 28
Susan chats with Elly in her room about the Finn situation. Elly is surprised Susan knows about it as she wasn't even sure the hook-up should've happened in the first place. Elly says she was just feeling nostalgic and Finn was acting so romantic. But the romance sheen is definitely worn off when Elly finds out that Finn told the education department they were together and as a consequence of that, Susan is no longer on the interview panel. Susan admits she may be feeling paranoid but it's more than a coincidence that the Wayne situation blew up just as Elly and Finn got back together. But from the look on Elly's face the alarm bells are going off for her too.

The Waterhole
First date chat with Paul involves discussing his plethora of children.

BROOKE: Wow, seven kids!
PAUL: Well seven that I know of.

They look like they're having a nice time but to Brooke's credit she can sense that Paul isn't as in to this date as Terese proclaimed. They each figure out they agreed to the dinner because they each thought Gary and Terese might be a little bit jelly seeing them date other people. Brooke and Paul smile and realise that they're both quite happy to continue their dating scam as it could benefit their romantic lives in the long run so they can end up with who they really want.

Harold's Café
Piper asks Tyler for more info about his short course and Tyler snarkily asks if she's interested now because T-Bone's not around. Piper frowns and says they're just friends. She then asks if there's really that much more to learn about engines because they're a "finite thing", which Tyler rightfully looks offended by, like thanks for the support, Pipes.

Finn catches up with Elly, excitedly telling her that he got the job as the new acting assistant principal. But Elly just glares at him and is all 'congrats toolbag', asking him if he just slept with her to set things in motion to guarantee he'd get the job. Finn's all 'What the heck! I love you! I would never do that! I'll call the school right now and turn down the job just so you know I'm genuine!' And poor confused Elly falters and says that he doesn't need to call them but this thing between them needs to slow down because she's finding it hard to trust her instincts right now. Besides, he's pretty much one of her bosses now with this new promotion. Finn says he understands and that he'll go by Elly's rules.

Number 26
Sheila, Gary and Terese are watching TV when Brooke arrives home from her date. They're surprised to hear she had such a wonderful time with Paul, and Brooke really lays it on thick saying that the two of them just clicked and that they're going on a second date tomorrow night. Terese looks quite pleased with her matchmaking skills but Sheila can see that this has thrown Gary for a loop.

Harold's Café
Xanthe sits with Finn and asks why Elly left so early. Finn says Elly wants to slow things down but he's just happy she didn't dump him entirely. Xanthe smiles and says "she'd be crazy if she did". Finn also lets Xanthe know about his promotion and she expresses her delight for him for achieving his goals. Finn can see that he's got Xanthe in his corner (and that she also might be crushing on him a bit), so he uses this to his advantage by asking her to keep an ear out and let him know if anyone's badmouthing him. Xanthe is like, 'omg of course I can'.

FINN: You're the only one who knows what's really going on with me. So you're the only person I can talk to properly. It means a lot, Xanthe. Honestly I don't know what I'd do without you.

Xanthe looks quite charmed by this. In the wise words of Scooby Doo: 'Ruh-roh'.
