Melbourne City Centre
Paige and David head down one of the famous Melbourne graffiti alleys in the early hours of the morning. David tries to placate Paige's worries until they reach the hospital, but she's already panicking about her baby after checking the symptoms on Google. David breaks the news that if she's having a miscarriage, there's not a lot that can be done.
Steph lies awake in bed and fantasies about her moment with Victoria. Mark awakes to his alarm, and he asks Steph how her previous day was. She recounts the story of fixing Victoria's car and informs Mark that Lucas didn't sound happy that Tyler had taken off. Mark says he's pleased that Steph and Victoria got to hang out together, but Steph looks very guilty.
Piper and Tyler chat in bed and discuss their next moves. Tyler worries about his job, and he points out that eventually they'll have to return back to Erinsborough, but Piper asks to stay away for just a little longer.
David informs Paige that there are no beds available and guides her through some breathing exercises. They're interrupted by Jack, who's visiting as the hospital chaplain. He wonders what they're doing together, and Paige jumps on the defence and says that she can see whoever she likes.
Lauren speculates about what Paige has been up to with David.
ELLY: David, David Tanaka, David?
NED: Doctor Dull.
ELLY: Doctor Serious would be more accurate.
BEN: Doctor Seriously Dull.
Lauren scolds them for being mean and gets a text from Steph saying she needs to unload. They're visited by Mark who asks if they've heard from Tyler or Piper, and explains that he's been following their number plate and discovered that they're near Wangaratta. They all worry about what Brad and Terese will say, and Mark says he's got another trick up his sleeve.
Piper is excited about sightseeing, but Tyler continues to worry about the trouble they're going to be in. She decides to head out alone, promising to bring him back a souvenir. Once alone, Tyler checks his phone and notices all of the unanswered texts from Mark.
Mark gets off the phone to someone who has confirmed that two people of Tyler and Piper's description checked into the Glenrowan Motel. Ned volunteers to collect them, but Mark insists that he wants to go up there himself.
NED: Look, why don't we both go? It's harder to say no to two people. Unless, of course, you don't like the idea of sharing a car with a criminal.
MARK: I do it all the time. Except usually, they're in handcuffs.
NED: Hey, if that's what it takes…
David conducts Paige's ultrasound. He locates the baby's heartbeat and is relieved that the baby appears healthy. He explains that it's already the size of an avocado and that Paige will begin to show soon, so she'll have to start telling people. Paige asks to be alone and watch her baby for a bit and speaks to her stomach.
PAIGE: Ok, you really had me freaking out there for a minute. There's probably not much you can do in there except sleep. Must get boring. Ok, please do not go anywhere. I'm really starting to like having you around.
Mark has been knocking on every door of the motel in search of Tyler and Piper and explains to an amused Ned that he doesn't want to abuse his police powers by asking at reception. They find Tyler's room and he doesn't look pleased to see them. They demand that Tyler comes home, but Tyler explains that Piper needs more time away from her parents.
MARK: So this is her parents' fault for caring, is it?
TYLER: Staying here is making Piper happy. That's my number on priority right now.
MARK: This is ridiculous.
TYLER: And there's the issue right there, bro. You can't see out of your own headspace.
MARK: What is that meant to mean?
TYLER: You have no idea what we're going through, or if you do, you just don't care. We came here to get away from that, so if you could see yourself out, that'd be great.
Mark goes to grab Tyler but he bats his hand away, and Ned tells Mark that they should leave.
In the back room, Steph finishes telling Lauren all about her ‘moment' with Victoria and confesses that she was attracted to her. Steph insists that she still loves Mark, but can't understand why she can't stop thinking about someone else. Lauren suggests that Steph is feeling neglected, and Steph recalls that she saw Mark and Sonya lying together like a couple.
LAUREN: Steph, there's more at stake here than just a spark. You have to talk to Mark, he's the one you want to marry. Right?
Ned returns to the room alone to try and talk Tyler into coming home. He points out that if Josh was still alive, it would be he who would be coming to bring home Piper.
NED: Mate, I'm sorry what your old man did to you, and then my dad triggered that.
TYLER: That's not what this is about. It's about Pipes.
NED: Ok. I know you want to make her happy, and I'm with you on that.
TYLER: Then what's the problem? She's safe, she's happy.
NED: Yeah, she is now while you're loved up and you've got a bit of cash. But the novelty's going to wear off, mate. I think it already is for you. Look, it might seem like you're freezing time by being here, but the world keeps turning outside these walls. School's starting soon for Pip, and you're missing work.
TYLER: I'm only missing a few days.
NED: But what happens when your boss finds out you're not really sick? And I don't blame you for trying to delay the inevitable, I've done it myself plenty of times. Which is why I can tell you, don't do it for too long. Otherwise, you might not recognise the life you go back to.
Later, Piper has returned from her sightseeing and is full of Ned Kelly facts. She's frustrated that she can't vlog without the Internet, and starts thinking about moving on to the next town. Tyler suggests instead that they head home, and manages to convince Piper.
Mark and Ned return back from Glenrowan. Ned says that he's going to stick around in Erinsborough for a while for Elly, and tells Mark to stay out of his personal life.
Mark returns home and unloads to Steph about his trip. He thanks Steph for all of her support about the surrogacy. Just as Steph is about to come clean about Victoria, he interrupts and says he doesn't want to talk, and things get steamy. Following a rather unsubtle montage of some birds and bees, Steph returns to the lounge in a dressing gown and answers the door to Lauren. She checks in on Steph, who's glowing after settling things with Mark in bed. Lauren presents Steph with some flowers that she found left outside. She notices they're from Victoria, and Steph looks concerned.
Piper and Tyler pull up outside No. 22 in Hermione. Ned greets them and says he's glad that Tyler took his advice back at the motel.
PIPER: What do you mean, back at the motel?
NED: When Mark and I came to talk to you and… you didn't tell her?
PIPER: No he didn't. So that's what this was all about, Tyler? I thought coming back here was about us, about our future together.
PIPER: Why didn't you tell me?
TYLER: I knew you wouldn't come home.
PIPER: What, so you just lied to me instead?
TYLER: I didn't lie, I just didn't tell you everything.
PIPER: Ty, it's the same thing!
Piper grabs Clementine from the car and heads inside. Ned reassures Tyler that he did the right thing.
Paige thanks David for helping her out. She gets a message that Piper is back home, and she invites David back for the evening to help her deal with the fallout. As she gets ready to leave, Ben comments to David that he didn't realise he and Paige were dating. David denies it but looks pleased that Ben assumed they were together. Tyler approaches Mark, who apologises for their argument. He explains that Lucas has left him a message and doesn't sound happy.
