Blaze outreach
After finishing doing some work to the exterior, Jack offers to shout Amy and David a drink for their efforts. Paige (and Courtney) say hello to David on route from the beach back to #32. Amy comments to David that he has seen a lot of Paige lately but he tries to play things down.
Number 28
Susan makes it known she isn't too impressed at her husband/grandson over their behaviour at the cricket match! She also doesn't want to ignore them (as Karl has suggested), since afterall, they are their neighbours, instead she is going to be the grown up and plans on getting the Canning's over so that they can apologise! "I've got nothing to apologise for," Karl is quick to say and Ben backs his grandad up by saying it was just sledging, something they weren't meant to take personally. Susan isn't being swayed and orders them both to sit back down before texting Gary.
Harold's café
Xanthe admits to her dad that she is feeling slightly guilty at bending the rules in the cricket game and now wishes she'd not suggested it. Gary tries to reassure his daughter that she didn't pick her parents and that Ben has to sort out his issues over her parentage.
Meanwhile, Paul and Steph arrange who is having the meeting with a restaurant supplier but she checks with Mark first over dinner arrangements. However, his mind is occupied by Tyler and the fact he is ignoring his big brother. Steph reminds him Tyler is an adult and that Piper isn't his responsibility, which he gets and then remarks that he doesn't need distractions since he should be focused on helping Sonya. Cue uneasiness for Steph and even Paul has picked up on it too and when Mark goes to pay the bill, mentions it to Steph. She reassures him that getting the boundaries right just now is difficult but Mark is committed to her, they're engaged after all, and that the baby will be theirs.
PAUL: Oh hello? Whoa, it's Sonya! Come on, you know she is not going to give up that child.
STEPH: She is, we have spoken about it a lot. She will Paul.
PAUL: (laughing) No, and it can happen alright and the sooner you back out of this the better.
Number 32
As they sit in the pool, Paige isn't too impressed Courtney has dumped her for a better offer for dinner (thanks to Tinder) and suggests she instead hangs around with the God squad! After Paige turns down an alcoholic drink, Courtney comments that she is putting on weight...asking if she's been snacking on the cakes at work! David appears and finds himself now going out clubbing with Paige as she wants to dance.
Number 28
Susan chairs the peace talks between Karl/Ben and Gary/Xanthe. Ben begins by apologising because he didn't mean what he said but Susan is then forced to quickly jump in when it looks like he was going to start spouting off about people overreacting. Susan then remarks that she does like her neckless and Karl seems happy that Gary is going to refund the difference... until Susan tells him to forget it, all debts are cancelled since money is tight. Gary doesn't take the offer kindly, wondering if she thinks they are too poor to pay their debts before reassuring them, whatever it takes, the money will be repaid.
Power Street
Steph isn't too happy after reading a text from Mark - he's calling dinner off because he has decided to go get Tyler. She then just about runs into Victoria as she exits the Antiques shop (aka the former Bric-a-brac shop) and as they chat, brings her up to speed on surrogacy developments (Sonya is pregnant with Mark's child and that they are engaged). "We're going to make it work, so you can shelve that judgment," she finishes with before walking away but Victoria momentarily stops her when she says that she would never judge. Victoria asks if she is okay and Steph reassures her she is and can't wait for the baby to arrive before Steph finishes the chat so she can go to her meeting however, from the shake of the head Victoria gives, she isn't convinced.
Harold's café
Gary seeks Amy out to see if she can give him some work so he can pay the debts off, however things are quiet, so she's got nothing to offer. Amy suggests instead doing a payment plan to pay off Brooke's debts like she did to pay off Liam's ones, but he's not too keen on that idea.
Ben arrives and sticks to a safe topic (has she heard from Piper) as a safe way to talk to Xanthe. He admits that he was a tool and that he really didn't mean what he said, she isn't like her mum. Xanthe is only prepared to accept his apology for saying she isn't a cheater, which he then reminds her that she was and finds himself digging an even deeper hole than the one he was previously in!
XANTHE: I always knew you looked down on me.
Ben tries to say he doesn't but she's had enough of everyone expecting her to stuff up and has a new aim in life - she is going to get a better ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) rank than him and without cheating too!
Power Street
Meeting finished, and Steph finds Victoria still on Power Street and she explains that she's waiting for a tow truck. Steph gets back into former career mode by asking her to pop the bonnet and begins trying to work out what is wrong with the car. As she does that, both apologise to each other for the terse conversation earlier.
Steph asks how Josie is doing and Victoria unloads on her that they've got issues - she's having boyfriend issues and doesn't think her mum can comment because she's only ever been with women. "Kids that age know how to fight dirty," Steph remarks which Victoria agrees with, before she then adds that she's been in relationships with both men and women and suggests it's about the people not the gender.
STEPH: Sounds like she was just using the whole lesbian thing to cut the conversation rather than to actually being a problem.
Steph then suggests that since Tyler is away, she contact Lucas to get access to the garage to fix Victoria's car having narrowed it down to a couple of potential issues.
St. Kilda Road/Federation Square, Melbourne CBD
As they head to a club, David presents Paige with a bottle of water and reminds her she needs to keep hydrated. She asks him to be allowed to act like a normal 22-year-old and go dancing, although not to pick anyone up, adding that he too could do with the fun.
PAIGE: Tonight can be the night that we can pretend like our lives are simple, that we're not hiding.
DAVID: Like an alternative universe.
Paige suggests that they are not going to be David and Paige and between them come up with the alternative names of Xavier and Felicity for the evening!
Garage
Steph has gained access to the tools needed and Victoria describes her as a "miracle worker" when she gets the car started but Steph is simply happy to have fixed something. Victoria comments that being a mechanic suits Steph and wears her down into accepting a dinner invite as a way of saying thanks for repairing the car.
Back Lane Bar
David and Paige are having a great evening and while he goes to get them some water, some guy (Wendell) comes over to chat Paige up. She isn't taking the guy on and repeatedly turns down his drinks offer and he finally gets the message, with a bit of forcefulness talking, when David returns with their water.
Harold's café
Amy and Jack are chatting about Jimmy when Mark comes in. He tells them about the wasted trip to Brighton as Piper/Tyler aren't there - apparently, the hotel wouldn't let them stay thanks to the cat and Tyler left his iPad hence why they thought they were there. Given they now could be anywhere, Mark wanted to talk with Lauren what happens next but she isn't at the store and Amy suggests he speak to Ned to see if he can track Piper down.
The Waterhole
Gary meets up with a former associate (Kev McNally) to try and get some work from them and on hearing that here might be a job, promises to do anything as he's debts to pay off.
Back Lane Bar
Paige picks up on David eyeing up some guy who passes them, and suggests he goes chat to them.
DAVID: I'm not gay.
PAIGE: And I'm not pregnant!
She quickly backtracks when she sees that David looks very uncomfortable, and instead says that she isn't judging adding that they are both awesome and are here for each other.
PAIGE: I'm not going anywhere.
Garage
It's late at night and Steph/Victoria are sitting in the tailgate of her car. Steph has just finished telling Victoria about Toadie/Dee and they get around to talking about their ex's. Victoria asks if she keeps in contact with "the woman" and is told no, not because they parted badly, things just got complicated with Belinda after the break up but admits that sometimes she still misses her. "Was she your last relationship before Mark?" Victoria asks and Steph confirms it was and adds that she hopes in time they will get the friendship part back. Steph asks Victoria if she still gets along with Ellen and is told no but they try and keep things civil for Josie's sake before admitting that she still misses her.
VICTORIA: That spark's hard to find. Yeah, it's rare.
STEPH: Not to mention it's unpredictable.
As they said those words to each other, both were looking into the other's eyes and perhaps a moment has just happened between them... before Steph says that she should be going.
Back Lane Bar
David can spot that something is wrong when Paige returns from the toilet and she explains that she noticed some blood. He asks if she has any pain and she replies no, but is feeling a bit nauseous, so David suggests they head to the hospital to find out what is going on.
PAIGE: Is the hospital the best option?
DAVID: If your baby is in trouble, it's the only one.

- And telling Lauren that she's not been able to stop thinking about it.
