Ramsay Street
Paul gives Amy a lift home (after visiting her mum) and she's nervous about entering the house - she has shipped Jimmy off to a mate to allow her to talk to Kyle. Amy isn't sure if Paul is joking or not when he tells her to call (so he can get one of his henchmen onto Kyle) if there is any trouble.
Nervously Amy starts walking towards Kyle who has appeared on the driveway of Number 26.
Cue titles!
Number 26
Kyle and Amy skirt round all the safe topics to talk about (Jimmy and the business) both reluctant to make the first move to talk properly to each other.
The Waterhole
Steph has had enough of Elly giving her the evil eye from the bar as she sits with Mark, and decides to go home to video call Charlie, somewhat concerned that her call from the previous night hasn't been returned.
Meanwhile Ned is forced to turn down a trip to the beach with Elly as he's covering for Sheila (family emergency) by setting up for the trivia night. As they are smooching, Regan comes into bar and spots them. Elly can sense she is watching them but Ned denies knowing her at all and he kisses her once more before resuming his duties.
Number 26
The pair are still sticking to somewhat safe topics before Amy asks if Georgia is back with him (no) and Kyle explains he's back to check up on Gary to make sure he's doing things right by Xanthe. Finally Amy's had enough and wants to know why he texted wanting to talk and she doesn't look too amused when he replies that he just wanted to touch base and see how she was doing. He says that despite the rushed departure, he thought underneath they could still be friends. Amy is not amused at the "friends" comment.
AMY: So you made me believe we were starting a life together, a family and then you run off with Georgia and start a whole new life with her like we meant nothing to you. And now you want to be friends?!
KYLE: I'm so sorry Amy.
Kyle goes to leave but Amy isn't giving him that pleasure, she's leaving!
Number 30
Mark and Steph arrive home and while Steph heads to her room, Sonya comments to Mark that she seems down and he explains that's because she is missing Charlie and adds that he is too. He mentions that they want to broach the subject with Max and Phillipa about Charlie staying for the holidays too as well as for the term, making them be a real family. "It's so nice to see you so happy," Sonya comments but their conversation is interrupted when Kyle drops by.
The Waterhole (exterior)
Ned makes it clear to Regan that she has to go but she's visiting to let him know that she's sure her hubby knows about them - he's not said anything directly to her but friends have been asking questions. Ned looks worried as hell and instructs her to act like nothing has happened for both their sakes. As they are having a farewell hug, Elly spots them and doesn't look too amused!
Lassiters Park
Amy sits down on a park bench and with Start again playing, has flashbacks to her time with Kyle - initially getting together, than catching him/Georgia at Lassiters and being trapped in the lift and confronting him.
Number 30
Kyle tells the others that he's surprised at Amy still being angry with him and Sonya points out that she was devastated when he left. "So was I," he replies and thought he would be able to talk to her. Steph decides its time he heard a few home truths - what he did was poor form because he broke Amy's heart and can't expect to come back and think everything is okay. Kyle admits that he stuffed up, something he is sorry for, but Steph can't listen anymore and walks out of the livingroom.
KYLE: Probably had that one coming.
Sonya and Mark can't but agree with him and he now wishes he'd listened to Sheila and stayed away.
Robinsons
Amy is ranting off at her dad about Kyle wanting them to be friends and admits that when she got the text, she though it would be so he could admit that he made the wrong choice although is quick to add in that she doesn't want to get back together with him. "Would that give you some satisfaction?" Paul asks and Amy replies "yes, no, I don't know."
AMY: Look at me, all it takes is for him to walk through the door and I'm a complete mess. You know, but what did I expect? I live with his family, I hang out with his friends, I don't have a life of my own and I run his business!
PAUL: It's your business now.
AMY: I still sleep in the same bed we shared, the only difference is that I'm by myself.
Paul suggests she moves into the motel until she feels stronger but she points out that running away (from #26) won't change the way she feels however Paul points out staying with the Canning's isn't going to help either. He urges her to move on because she's living in the shell of her old life when she should be concentrating on her own future.
AMY: What the one where I am alone?
PAUL: It's not going to be like that forever.
AMY: Yes well it feels like that now.
Paul walks over to console her and says if she wants things to move forward then she has to let go.
Number 30
Kyle says his farewells as next on his to do list is a walk with Susan! Sonya decides to make herself scarce to allow Mark and Steph to talk (she was civil when saying bye to Kyle). She explains to Mark about being short with Kyle as she is worried about Charlie as she's not yet heard from him, so he tries to reassure her that Charlie is resilient just like his mum. Mark confesses that he's missing Charlie too and kept quiet because he was trying to keep things positive.
The Waterhole (exterior)
"It's not what you think," Ned begins with when Elly confronts him about Regan. He confirms that she is an ex and does know he's now in a relationship but kept it quiet from Elly so she didn't freak out. "How insecure do you think I am Ned?" she asks and he tries to explain that Regan is clingy and hoped she didn't read too much into it. He does confirm that it was her lock of hair he was carrying and that they met on race day but adds that he didn't invite her. Elly now gets why Mark has been warning her and now getting angry, Ned decides the conversation is over as even though Elly opened up to him about her ex, he doesn't want to reciprocate.
Number 30
Steph and Mark finally get hold of Charlie via a video chat (although the background looks rather similar to that of #30!!!). Charlie is settling in fine and as they chat, Mark suggests that since they are all missing each other, that he/Steph head to Fiji. The lad is up for that and is already planning on what they will do when they are there (Steph says she'll call Max to set things up).
Power Street
Kyle is catching up with Susan as they walk along. He gets nowhere asking if Xanthe can go to Queensland, so instead thanks Susan for supporting her during the recent Cooper stuff. Once they reach the yard, Kyle is impressed at what Amy has done to the place although admits he misses seeing his "ugly mug up there" and Susan confirms that she has worked hard.
Kyle/Susan then run into Amy/Paul who are on the way to the yard so she can pick up some paperwork. Paul can't help but be sarcastic to Kyle saying he's good at getting out of Amy's way. "You know how sorry I am," he says to Amy looking straight at her.
PAUL: For once would you just stop pretending to be remorseful and take responsibility for what you've done.
AMY: Dad.
PAUL: (ignoring Amy) Amy's been doing really well since you left and you think you can just swan in her with your 'I'm sorry' routine and everything will be okay?
AMY: Stop!
PAUL: The sooner you go back to Germany the better I say.
Since Paul refuses to shut up, Amy drags her dad away from them although it doesn't stop Paul from giving him a final 'evil eye' look!
Number 30
Mark is back ready packed to go head to Fiji but the trip is off as Steph has talked to Max and they are taking Charlie to New Zealand for the rest of the holidays. The trip was pre-organised apparently but they'd not told Charlie as it was to be a surprise. There is more bad news too - Charlie has been affected more about what happened with Ari than they realised, so Max thinks he shouldn't come back.
STEPH: I'm never getting him back.
Number 28
Elly is now bending her aunt's ear about what happened with Ned and suggests that perhaps she should be like him (not discussing anything) while she'd rather have an open and honest relationship. "I can't see that happening," Susan comments and Elly admits that she can't either. Elly confesses that she likes him a lot but Susan doesn't think the way Ned hasn't been communicating isn't a good sign.
ELLY: It does make me think that there is something else going on.
SUSAN: Trust your instincts.
ELLY: It's not that I think he's cheating on me but this woman and him they have a past and I can't comprehend why he wouldn't have talked to me about it.
Susan's advice is for her to talk to him again and to not walk away until he's told her everything but Elly is worried that is a bit full on. "NO!" is her reply as being in a relationship means being honest and transparent and points out that her needs are just as valid as his, so Elly's mind is made up that she will talk to him.
Number 26
Accompanied to Strong, Amy and Paul finish collecting all her (and Jimmy's) belongings although she gets very teary when taking the pic of herself/Jimmy. Paul reminds her that she is doing the right thing and they depart to pick Jimmy up.
The Waterhole
Amy is MC for the trivia quiz when Regan walks into the bar. She marches straight to where Ned is behind the bar and tells him that they need to talk. Trying to get rid of her, he tells her to call but she's adamant that it's urgent.
Armed with the microphone, Amy calls out to Regan, or "Blondie" as she is referred to, to tell her to stop hitting on her boyfriend!
ELLY: You're embarrassing yourself, it's over.
Regan bolts from the bar and Ned looks like he's following but he's actually heading to Elly (who has suddenly declared that the trivia quiz requires a break) to ask what she is doing?! Elly explains that she was just reminding Regan, since she's obviously forgotten, that they are over. She isn't impressed at what she perceives is Ned defending Regan when he told Elly that she's just made things a whole lot worse.
ELLY: Do you still have a thing for her?
NED: Just stop! You need to back the hell off.
