Lassiter's
Room 601. Ben comes in to tell Xanthe what's going on; there's a cherry-picker evacuating people from the lower floors, but he doesn't think they should try taking the stairs as they're not safe - plus he doesn't want Karl to see him and end up in trouble. Xanthe's apologetic for getting him into this mess, but Ben replies that he couldn't pass up an opportunity to meet Angus Young. She looks guilty.
Cue titles.
Erinsborough Hospital
Paul and Terese are visiting Daniel in his hospital bed. He wakes up and asks after Imogen - Terese explains that she's Not In This Episode™.
DANIEL: Josh... I'm so sorry.
TERESE: It's okay. There's nothing you could have done.
Daniel says he's feeling okay, but just a bit fuzzy. Terese receives a call on her mobile from Mark, and she goes out to take it, assuming it's about the CCTV footage.
PAUL: Daniel, I'm so pleased I didn't lose you. I don't know what I would've done.
DANIEL: I've got to get out of here ASAP.
Terese comes back in, and reveals what Mark was calling her about - it's been confirmed that the explosion at the hotel emanated from the boiler room.
The Waterhole
Steph rushes in frantically, having heard about Toadie likely being in Lassiter's. Sonya updates her on the situation; the State Emergency Service (SES) are looking for him and have said they'll keep her posted. Aaron arrives.
AARON: Sonya - is it true that the blast came from the underground car park?
SONYA: It's the boiler room next to the car park.
Sonya seems unwilling to talk to Aaron when he asks whether people are trapped, simply saying she doesn't know. Steph explains to Aaron that Toadie's missing, and offers his help if needed - but Sonya is dismissive of him.
After his months-long absence, Nate randomly turns up, in an SES uniform! Sonya's relieved to see he'll be helping with the rescue effort, and he assures her they'll get Toadie out of there. Aaron goes to talk to Nate as he walks away.
AARON: What are you doing here?
NATE: I'm working.
AARON: Since when?
NATE: This is actually my first day, so it's a big one.
Nate rushes off, saying he'll see Aaron around. Aaron looks sad.

Kyle is almost packed to leave, and comes to join Amy in the garden. He tells her that the Dial-A-Kyle business is all hers if she wants it, but she's not in the mood to talk about that now - saying they can discuss it later.
KYLE: Are you still okay with me talking to Jimmy?
AMY: Yeah, I am.
KYLE: Amy, I really am sorry.
AMY: Oh, don't - I don't wanna hear that.
She walks away from him, just as Sheila turns up, demanding to know whether it's true that Kyle is leaving today. He confirms it is, adding that he's going to talk to Jimmy about it, and has messaged Xanthe asking her to come home.
SHEILA: What about me?
KYLE: This is why I'm gonna go and stay with Mum for a few days before my flight. Me hanging around here is just gonna hurt everybody.
SHEILA (tearful): So will you leaving.
KYLE: I love Georgia. I think, deep down, I always have. I need to do this.
Sheila sobs.
Lassiter's
In Room 601, Ben is sulking, since Xanthe's come clean and told him Angus Young was never in town.
BEN: Why would you lie like this?
XANTHE: Do I have to spell it out to you?
BEN: ...
XANTHE: Umm... I like you, okay? And I just wanted to spend some time with you.
BEN: Normal people ask.
XANTHE: I'm so sorry - please don't be mad at me. Here, have some chocolate - they say it triggers something in the brain that releases morphine!
BEN: Endorphins.
Xanthe says that, since they're stuck in here for the next three hours, he might as well stop being mad at her so they can chill and enjoy the free snacks!
XANTHE: Ooh, fancy hand lotion - I like it!
BEN: Xanthe, a massive thing just happened. People could've been seriously injured in that blast, and you're sitting there putting on hand lotion.
Xanthe gets a call from Sheila on her mobile.
XANTHE: Yes, we're still in the library!
Sheila breaks the news that Kyle is leaving, and asks Xanthe to come home. She says she'll be there as soon as she can.
Meanwhile, still lying in the rubble, Toadie hears drilling above him. He shouts out as some small bits of debris fall on him, and eventually a walkie-talkie is lowered through the ceiling on a rope. Toadie grabs it and shouts 'hello'.
Lassiter's Complex / Lassiter's
Nate speaks to Toadie over the walkie-talkie. Toadie warns them to be careful as they try to free him, because of the block of concrete hanging precariously above him! Nate promises they'll be there soon. Toadie looks scared.
Erinsborough Hospital
Terese and Paul are in the waiting area. Terese is tearful, and says that she kept nagging at Julie Quill to fix the boiler when it started playing up - but never imagined something like this happening.
PAUL: The explosion was not your fault.
TERESE: You don't know that for sure. And then there was the time when you fiddled with the air con.
PAUL: I merely disabled it, and that was weeks ago.
TERESE: Yeah. Right. Of course.
Paul takes her hand.
PAUL: Listen. Neither of us are responsible - you've got to trust me, okay?
Terese agrees, then decides to head for the Lassiter's Complex. Julie Quill turns up, expressing her condolences for Terese's loss, and even being nice to Paul - saying what a relief it is that Daniel's okay. Terese says she's heard the explosion started in the boiler room.
JULIE: I know. I'm so sorry we didn't get it fixed.
TERESE: Did it overheat, or what? What do you think could have happened?
JULIE: I have no idea. I've just given a statement to the police, but all I could tell them was it's been playing up since the air con went in the heatwave.
PAUL: Yeah, but hang on - that had nothing to do with what happened today.
JULIE: Well we don't know anything for sure, Paul.
Julie tells Terese that the police found it strange that Lassiter's didn't file an incident report when the air con went wrong. She says she 'covered it' but that Terese should know in case they ask her questions.
PAUL: Where's Tom?
JULIE: Tom? He left for Sydney last night.
PAUL: No, that's not true - I saw him this morning.
TERESE: Paul!
JULIE: I'm sure I'd have heard if he was anywhere near the complex.
Julie tells Terese to let her know if she can do anything to help, and then walks off.

Jimmy is in the garden playing with Bossy, when Kyle comes to talk to him.
JIMMY: Is it about you and Mum?
KYLE: Sort of. Do you remember, before I met you guys, I was married to a girl called Georgia? Yeah, well, me and Bossy are gonna go over to Germany to see her.
JIMMY: Like a holiday.
KYLE: Except I'm not coming back.
JIMMY: But what about me and Mum?
KYLE: It's... It's nothing that you and your mum have done. This is really hard to explain, but... Georgia makes me happy too.
JIMMY: Did we do something wrong?
KYLE: No, mate, of course not.
JIMMY: Then don't leave!
KYLE: I need to do this.
JIMMY: But if you stay, I promise we'll try harder...
Jimmy gets upset. Kyle apologises, but he runs off inside.
Lassiter's / Lassiter's Complex
An emotional Sonya is now talking to Toadie over the walkie-talkie.
SONYA: Jarrod?!
TOADIE: Sonya, it's good to hear your voice.
SONYA: Not as good as it is to hear yours. Are you okay?
TOADIE: Not really. I don't think I'm hurt, though.
Sonya gets upset for not being able to work out where he was sooner. Toadie explains that Doug called him and asked to talk about his will, which is why he went to Lassiter's. Sonya's forced to break the news that Doug is dead, which upsets Toadie. He asks if anyone else has been lost, but a tearful Sonya says they just need to focus on getting him out.
The concrete block above Toadie begins to move again!
TOADIE: I'm in a lot of trouble here, babe, aren't I?
SONYA: If you think you are gonna abandon me and our family, then really, you've got another thing coming, alright? You are getting out of there alive - do you hear me?
TOADIE: I love you.
SONYA: Well I love you more.
Meanwhile, in Room 601, Xanthe tells Ben she's taking the stairs - she can't let Kyle leave the country without being able to say goodbye. Ben agrees to come with her, but before they leave the room, Xanthe goes to the fridge for some water. She finds a bag in the fridge, full of cash! She asks Ben how much he thinks is there.
BEN: At least ten grand. Whose room are we actually in?
XANTHE: Just some rich guy.
BEN: Put it back; it's not ours.
XANTHE: What if the hotel goes down and the money goes with it?
BEN: Are you saying you want to steal it?
XANTHE: No, not steal - just, umm, take. You know, get it out safely.
BEN: If it was my money I'd want to know it was safe.
XANTHE: Exactly.
BEN: I'll store half, you store half? For safety.
He winks at her.
XANTHE: Of course.
They grab the cash.
Outside the hotel, Aaron is handing out bottled water to the volunteers, when Nate approaches and tells him he shouldn't be here, as there's a part of the hotel that's still unstable.
AARON: Don't pretend you care.
Aaron walks off, as Ben and Xanthe emerge from the hotel. Nate asks what they were doing inside the cordon, and Ben introduces him to Xanthe as his cousin. She claims they heard what happened and just came to see what was going on, so Nate tells them to get home and be safe.

Terese is on the phone to Mark, and asks him to keep her updated. She then tells Paul the news that the boiler room was sabotaged.
PAUL: So Tom Quill did go ahead with his revenge plan?
TERESE: Listen, Paul - please don't take this the wrong way. But after everything that's happened, I guess I'm not thinking straight. But you were so angry with Julie Quill. About losing the Citizen of the Year event.
PAUL: I was upset, yeah.
TERESE: And you hated the thought of her using it to relaunch The Development™.
PAUL: What are you asking, Terese? Are you suggesting that I sabotaged the boiler.
TERESE: I need to know.
PAUL: No - no. I didn't do it.
TERESE: Because I couldn't cope if you were the cause of Doug and Josh's death.
PAUL: Oh, no, I'm not - I'm not. Terese, I love you, and I would never put anybody you care about in danger. I didn't do it. You have to believe me.
But Terese is still looking worried.

Xanthe arrives in the back garden, and Sheila scolds her for only just getting here in time to say goodbye for Kyle. Xanthe gives Kyle a big shove.
KYLE: What was that for?
XANTHE: For deserting us for some chick.
KYLE: Georgia's my wife.
XANTHE: Yeah, and Amy's the best thing that's ever happened to you, and you're such a jerk for going. I just really don't want you to go - I found out about you, like, five minutes ago.
Kyle gives Sheila a big hug; she says it's like losing his dad Gary all over again. Amy emerges from the house, and Kyle asks if Jimmy will be coming to say goodbye. She shakes her head, and he's gutted. Amy bids goodbye to Bossy, who's headed for quarantine before she can join Kyle in Germany.
AMY: Good luck.
KYLE: Thanks. For everything.
Amy just nods awkwardly. Suddenly, Jimmy emerges and gives Kyle a hug.
KYLE: Take care of your mum, okay?
JIMMY: I will.
KYLE: And message me any time.
Amy comforts an upset Jimmy, and Sheila bids Kyle goodbye.
KYLE: Guess I'll see you guys around.
Kyle leaves, and Bossy runs after him.
Lassiter's / Lassiter's Complex
Toadie is talking to Nate on the walkie-talkie. He says there's a good chance the concrete pylon will fall when they come in to rescue him, and Nate admits it's a possibility.
TOADIE: Straight up, Nate - is this hopeless?
NATE: Hey, don't think like that. Cos me and the team, we aren't.
TOADIE: In case things don't work out, I need to ask a favour.
NATE: Yeah, anything.
TOADIE: Is Sonya near you?
NATE: No - do you want me to get her?
TOADIE: No. No, I, erm, need to speak to Steph Scully. In private.
Robinson's Motel
Paul arrives with a briefcase, just as Steph finishes a call with Nate. Worried about Toadie, she's about to rush off to the Complex - but before she goes, Paul tells her that, since the police have opened an investigation into the explosion at Lassiter's, they'll probably want to ask them some questions, as owners of the competing business.
Steph is dismissive of the idea that the police would think they'd be involved, but Paul says they might. Steph asks if they have a reason to think so; Paul insists not, but nonetheless makes her promise that, if they come calling, she won't let them search the premises without a warrant. Steph hurriedly agrees, then rushes off to the Complex.
Lassiter's
Toadie is still in the rubble when he hears Steph's voice come over the walkie-talkie. As he speaks to her he becomes very emotional, explaining what a risky manoeuvre his rescue will be.
TOADIE: So, if I don't make it out, I need you to do a couple of things for me.
STEPH: No, you're gonna get out of here. You're gonna be okay, I know it.
TOADIE: I need you to - I need you to look after Sonya. She's gonna be busy trying to look after the kids, and she's gonna forget about herself.
STEPH: No problem.
TOADIE: And when Callum comes home, and Nell's old enough... I need you to tell them stories about me. Make 'em funny, okay?
STEPH: I've got lots of those.
TOADIE: And there's also - there's a red folder in the bottom drawer of my desk at home. I need you to get rid of it.
STEPH: No, okay - you know what? You're gonna be okay, and you're gonna be able to do that yourself.
TOADIE: Steph, this is important. Can you destroy if for me?
Steph herself is now very emotional.
STEPH: Yeah.
TOADIE: Sonya cannot see it - do you understand?
STEPH: Okay, okay. But only if you don't make it out. And you're gonna make it out. You are.
TOADIE: Thank you.
We hear the volunteers' voices outside asking if the paramedics are on standby. Toadie looks terrified as he prepares for the worst...
Robinson's Motel
Still emotional, Steph returns, and notices Paul's briefcase still on the floor in the storeroom. Recalling what he said about not letting the police in without a warrant, she's suddenly compelled to open the briefcase. It has a combination lock, so she prises it open with a knife. She's shocked at what she discovers inside - blueprints for the boiler room at Lassiter's...
