Ramsay Street - Outside No. 22
Piper pleads for Terese to stop embarrassing her but she's furious. Tyler tries to persuade her that it was just a one-off mistake and that it's fine between them, but Terese suddenly realizes that Tyler is Piper's 'school-boy' crush and tells Tyler to leave.
PIPER: Thanks mum! As usual, handled with your trademark delicacy and sensitivity!
Terese and Piper start screaming at each other, as Terese is furious that Piper broke her curfew. Piper begs her not to tell Brad, but Terese says she needs to hear his take on the situation.
(Opening titles)
Harold's
Brad gifts Lauren his finished wood carving, which now actually resembles a sculpture! Lauren begs him to stay as the store is quiet, and she offers him a free meal. He tells her about his idea for a new after-school club for troubled kids with lots of sports activities. Lauren fully approves the idea and says that Harold's will endorse it. Brad gets a text about Piper and has to leave.
No. 22
Brad lays into Piper, and gets angry that Terese hadn't told him that she'd already warned Tyler away. Piper desperately tries to defend herself, saying that things just escalated from their friendship.
PIPER: It was one kiss, that lasted like 2.3 seconds! I don't know why you're making such a big deal about this!
TERESE: Because you are sixteen and he is a man! You've got to realize that this is not okay Piper!
Brad tries to get Piper to tell them what happened but she insists they forget about it.
PIPER: It's okay Mum, I know the drill. Go to your room! No devices! Lock your chastity belt before lights out!
TERESE: Hey now drop the attitude young lady, or there will be consequences!
Brad forbids Piper from working with Tyler at the garage, and Terese suggests she'll have to get another job in order to donate her salary to the school library. Piper storms upstairs mocking that she'll have to use smoke signals to find a job.
Harold's
Michelle thanks Paige for the apartment, and suggests she come over once everything is unpacked. Paige says that there's not much to plan for the wedding, and apologises for not inviting Michelle. Lauren approaches and tells Paige that Mark wants her to answer some questions to the police about Harold's. Michelle leaves, and Paige tells Lauren she doesn't need to worry about her friendship with Michelle.
The Waterhole
Sheila apologises for not giving Xanthe a home-cooked meal and is taken aback when Xanthe says she prefers take-away. She asks Sheila for some money to head back to the coast, and she'll pay her back as soon as her Mum returns. Sheila says she'll be staying with them and decides to call her Mum about the money, but Xanthe quickly jumps in saying that she can't as she's staying on a remote island off-grid. Elsewhere, Dimato is sad to hear from Paul that the gazebo venture is dead (Hooray!). Paul says he can't do any more dodgy dealings as he has a court hearing the following week, but Dimato propositions him with investment in a motel - 'The Erins Burrow'. He'll provide financial backing with the condition that he can use a spare room, with no questions asked.
No. 26
Sheila and Xanthe return home, and Amy is excited to meet the new Canning. Xanthe is surprised at how attractive Amy is and they head into the kitchen to chat. Sheila sits down with Kyle and they both agree that there's something fishy about Xanthe's mother - Sheila's got her full name from Gary and she's going to track her down.
No. 24
Tyler comes home and Brad is furious with him for lying about his kiss with Piper. Tyler tries to tell him that he was just looking out for her.
BRAD: She's just a kid. Yeah, she's my kid. My baby girl.
Tyler tries to apologise but Brad informs him that Piper won't be working at the garage any longer, and tells Tyler to stay away.
Harold's
Paige inquires about Michelle's job search but she's so far been unsuccessful, so Paige recommends she undertakes some volunteer work. Lauren comes back with news from the police station - apparently all of the victims of the recent spout of burglaries had all visited Harold's at the time of the crime, and Lauren will have to track their regular customers. Paige looks confused by it all.
No. 22
The following morning, Terese comes down and is short-tempered with Paul. She confesses that she'd been kept awake by the Piper drama, whilst Paul says he's been concerned about a potential new business venture. He can't get his usual private investigators to check it out though as he couldn't pay their bills.
TERESE: You lost your money Paul, not your brain or your instincts. Just do it yourself!
Lassiter's Lake
Paul spies Dimato walking across the bridge from behind a tree. He's briefly interrupted when Tyler drives his remote-control car into Paul's leg (luckily the right one!). As Paul disappears after Dimato, Imogen confronts Tyler about their date, asking if he did it just to spite Piper. Tyler hits back that him and Piper are just friends, and unlike Imogen, she doesn't use him to make other guys jealous. Imogen gets flustered, and tells Tyler that he crossed the line and he needs to stay away from her.
No. 26
Xanthe's made a fruit salad, and asks Sheila again for the money for her flight home, but Sheila confesses that she searched Xanthe's mother online.
SHEILA: Apparently Xanthe's mother, Brooke, has done a bit of a runner. She was on a current affair show, scamming lonely hearts on the web.
Xanthe tries to justify her mother's actions to Amy who looks very disapproving, but Sheila points out that many of Brooke's victims lost their life savings. She insists that Xanthe stays with them where she is protected, but Xanthe isn't having it. Kyle buts in, telling Xanthe she needs to get off her high-horse and face reality.
XANTHE: You know what, you've given me a hard time from the second I walked through that door! I find out my Dad's in jail, and you're clearly jealous that he left you for us. Try facing that reality!
Xanthe and Kyle both storm out, and Amy and Sheila look suitably aghast.
(later)
Xanthe's on the phone to someone in the lounge and asks them for a few hundred dollars, but they hang up on her. Xanthe spies a leopard-skin purse on the desk and opens it, but pauses before she takes any money.
Lassiter's Complex
Tyler moans about the Willis parents to Paige, but she reminds him that it takes two to tango. Michelle exits the police station after her parole check-in, and Paige invites Tyler to hang out with them. Tyler is hesitant, but Michelle is enthusiastic that he joins them. She eventually talks him round and he agrees.
No. 26
Sheila tells Kyle that Xanthe's left a goodbye note with no explanation. Sheila tries to blame Kyle for leaving, but he insists that Xanthe was dodgy from the start. Sheila proves that Xanthe never stole anything from her purse, and is very worried for her welfare.
SHEILA: She pushes your buttons, and that's what little sisters do.
KYLE: Half-sister.
SHEILA: I just hope she's okay!
The Waterhole
Michelle, Tyler and Paige are playing pool, and Michelle announces that she's going to have a house-warming party. Paige and Michelle manage to talk Tyler round - he could even get with one of Michelle's friends from church! She rushes to leave as she has a job interview, and she thanks Tyler for hanging out with her.
Michelle's apartment
Michelle explains her devious scheme to Dimato, saying that she's managed to lure Paige and Tyler to the apartment under false pretenses. They exit to the hallway, and Dimato tells her not the lock up and he has another load to come. He goes to stroke Michelle's face, and she flinches.
DIMATO: I want you to know how much I care about you, okay?
MICHELLE: Let's not talk about that. I know you didn't mean it. And to think what that mongrel did to you.
DIMATO: It will never happen again.
As Michelle and Dimato leave, Paul appears from behind a wall at the other end of the corridor. He sneaks into the apartment and finds it filled with (presumably) stolen goods.
Ramsay Street
Piper is washing the car, and Tyler asks how she's doing. Piper apologises that Imogen shouted at him, and understands that it must be awkward to be living in the same house as Brad. Tyler asks Piper not to take it personally if he ignores her for a while as they can't see each other, and they part of good terms.
Michelle's apartment
Dimato enters with a box and is startled to find Paul sitting inside.
DIMATO: What are you doing here?
PAUL: I could ask the same question of you actually.
Paul points out that Dimato is trespassing according to the lease of the apartment in Paige's name, and they seem to have filled it with stolen goods.
PAUL: What are you up to Dimato?
DIMATO: It's payback.
PAUL: Oh, I see.
DIMATO: It's got nothing to do with you. Any venture that we have is separate.
PAUL: Right, so you want me to walk out of here and forget everything I've seen?
DIMATO: Yes, I do.
PAUL: Problem is, I don't think my memory's that bad.
Dimato tries to bribe Paul, saying that he'll give him whatever he wants. He agrees to invest in the motel with no strings attached, on the condition that Paul keeps quiet about the apartment.
