Waterhole /No 22
Daniel is talking about the lunch with Paul and Imogen is discussing it with Piper.
Daniel says he didn't realise Imogen wanted a reference. Imogen comments that he might have done if he'd let her speak. Paul says he hasn't got a good track record in this area(!) but he and Naomi are very different and so are Daniel and Imogen. Piper says the relationships that last are where people share the same values and interests. Imogen says they have things in common.
PIPER: You two are completely different people. You're a planner and he's Mr Impulsive. In twenty years, you'll be a High Court Judge, and he'll still be pushing fair trade coffee and goji berry protein bowls.
Imogen scoffs, but Piper points out she's had five relationships, two serious, so she's knows what she's talking about.
Waterhole
Imogen asks Paige for her opinion, but Paige passes her on to Naomi. Naomi begs Imogen not to let what happened with Josh affect their friendship. Imogen agrees and explains the problem, then realises she's been an idiot. She says maybe they are too different to work. Naomi says their differences complement each other. Paige agrees, saying differences are fine, even age difference.
NAOMI: Yeah, look, the only thing you have to have in common is a sense of humour. Laughter, that is the best aphrodisiac there is, so stop looking for problems OK? And enjoy being together ... finally!
Paige looks horrified, then worried as Imogen goes off to find Daniel.
No 28
Nate tells Karl and Susan that Aaron is looking for an agent. Susan says it could mean a lot more work. Nate isn't enthusiastic, but Susan says that Aaron is probably just trying to find the right work / relationship balance. Karl suggests they watch some "Nordic Noir". Karl gets a phone call, and has to go to the hospital. Susan decides to watch the first episode anyway. (It's called "Glugginn".)
SUSAN: I think Karl would want me to watch.
NATE: I'm pretty sure he wouldn't.
SUSAN: Well, then we just won't tell him then.
NATE: Ah, you want me to lie.
SUSAN: Yep, pretty much.
Waterhole
Paige is flinging darts at the board. Naomi asks if she's annoyed that Imogen left. Paige says she doesn't think she and Mark have anything in common: in fact he and Naomi have more in common. Naomi reminds her that didn't turn out well. Paige leaves and Aaron comes in and tells Naomi that The Heat needs her.
NAOMI: That is lovely, but I only take my clothes off in private.
Aaron explains that bookings have taken a hit since he came out, and says that he's booked an agent, but they are desperate for promo ideas. Naomi says she can't help because of Josh, especially as Paul has been so understanding. Aaron says he'll pay her, so she could say it was business.
Lassiter's Complex
Mark asks Paige to a fishing exhibition, but she's not interested. He asks her for coffee, but she says she's got to help Lauren. I don't know why he bothers.
Penthouse apartment
Conrad - an employee of Forest - arrives. Paul questions him about Josh and the illegal peptides. Conrad is cagey, but Paul assures him he just wants to give Josh a lesson.
CONRAD: What sort of lesson?
PAUL: The uncomfortable, memorable kind. And I will make it worth your while.
No 22
Imogen and Daniel both apologise for what happened at the lunch. Imogen says she let her obsessive behaviour derail everything. Daniel assures her that isn't true.
DANIEL: We will be free, as free as a river. The sun will shine all through our hearts.
IMOGEN: Are you citing Karl?
Daniel says that Karl sings at the bar... a lot.
No 28
Susan wants to watch another episode of Glugginn, but then Karl arrives home. Susan lies that they were looking up recipes online, so they settle down to watch the first episode. Susan gets a call from the school and has to go out. Karl decides to watch a few scenes.
NATE: Without Susan?
KARL: She wouldn't necessarily have to know, right?
NATE: You want me to lie to Susan?
SUSAN: Pretty much.
No 22
Imogen and Daniel are good-naturedly disagreeing about the merits of pickled onions and mustard. Imogen says that Piper used to be her sidekick, and now it feels like she hardly knows her at all. Daniel says she's got the chance to get to know her again.
Penthouse apartment
Conrad is leaving as Naomi arrives. Paul lies and tells her he's a council supplier. Naomi tells him that she's working with The Heat. He says it's fine, and they arrange to have dinner later.
No 22
Piper is just uploading her vlog. Imogen comments that she knows nothing about Piper's life, not even that she'd been with 5 boyfriends. Piper asks why she assumes they were all boys. Imogen is surprised, and asks if she's been with girls. Piper says she didn't say that. She claims that 5 isn't that many. Imogen asks if she started seeing anyone before she left Canada. Piper hesitates before saying no. She gets a text.
IMOGEN: Oh, is that from one of your many non-gender specific exes?
PIPER: Do you have to explain every single text that you get?
The text is from Chas and reads "Miss you". Piper looks upset.
No 28
Susan arrives home and they are about to watch Episode 1. Nate asks if they are really going to watch it again. He points out they have both watched it while the other one was out, and they should just skip ahead to Episode 2. They start to watch, and this time, it's Nate who gets a text. They go ahead and watch anyway.
The Bus Stop ™
Paige is sitting at the bus stop, when Mark arrives. He says he's been trying to get in touch with her, but she's switched her phone off. He asks her what's wrong and she says she's worried they are too different.
MARK: Just because we like different things and laugh at different things, doesn't mean I don't want to be with you.
She smiles. He's brought some afternoon tea, and for good measure he puts a doughnut in his mouth. Hilarious.
Waterhole
Naomi is meeting Aaron and Josh. She advises them not to put personal information on their home page. As she stands up to leave, Conrad pushes past. Nate asks Aaron about his status update...
AARON: Naomi thinks it's best if I'm vague about which team I bat for. It's purely business.
Nate says it's fine, and Aaron promises him a free lap dance.
(Later)
The Heat are performing, when the police arrive, saying they have had an anonymous tipoff that Josh is dealing in illegal peptides. He denies it. They ask to search his bag. Naomi looks at Paul, puzzled. The police find several bottles of tablets in Josh's bag.
JOSH: That's not my stuff.
CONST McKAY: But this is your bag.
JOSH: Yes, it's my bag, but that's not mine.
McKay says Josh must accompany him to the station.
Unmissable Drama
- Aaron thinks that Josh is innocent, and someone says he might have been framed
- Paul suggests that people get what they deserve
- Liam tells Amy that everything is going to change for all of them. Kyle looks unhappy.
- Lauren denies that she and Brad are seeing each other.
- Lauren turns up at Brad's motel room. Then Terese arrives and sees her.
