Hospital (Paul's room)
Paul is still on a high at the news he's in remission and even Karl is singing Nick's praises by suggesting that he might have, "changed the face of cancer treatment!"

PAUL: Absolute genius, pure genius!
GEROGIA: More like a psychopath!

Georgia fully enters the room and begins to tell Paul of her claims that Nick poisoned him with chemotherapy, "in order to guarantee the success of his cancer centre." Nick denounces them as lies and suggests that Georgia is only say this because he got her sacked. "I know you had me sacked," she acknowledges and turns to Paul to say to him that she is telling the truth. Nick doesn't think so; she's simply, "maliciously trying to smear my good name."

Karl asks what proof she's got and she tells him about the files she found that match perfectly. Nick is aghast that they're even listening to her claims and Naomi (backed up by Karl) tells her to go. "Listen to me Karl," she pleads and finally Paul joins the conversation to ask her to leave too because, "Nick saved my life."

Harold's Store
"It was awful, nobody believed me," Georgia tells her hubby when she gets back to the store. He wishes that they could show someone the files to prove she isn't making it up. "You're right," she tells him after a lightbulb moment and asks him to deal with her mum (she got a text to say she'd arrived) while she goes off to see Mark. "You lied to the cops," Kyle reminds her as well as that she could get into more trouble but she doesn't care about that as she doesn't want Nick to get away with it.

Number 30
Toadie and Sonya welcome Rhonda into their home while she waits for her son in law to arrive. She wants to know what's going on with Georgia after a text from Kyle saying she's feeling down but when she asked her, Georgia said she was fine. Thankfully Kyle's arrival means Sonya/Toadie don't need to reply to that question and Kyle waffles a "she's fine" reply too whilst apologising that his wife has been delayed.

Since Georgia hasn't arrived, Rhonda leaves to do some shopping and Toadie quickly asks Kyle if she knows about Georgia being fired. "Georgia doesn't want her to know," Kyle explains to them and then goes to tell them more...

Hospital (exterior)
Nick is still on his high-horse about Georgia as he/Karl have a coffee break. Karl wants him to get together with Georgia to discuss what she found but he's totally not having that, "because she's lying." Much to Nick's annoyance, Karl is intent on pushing it, partially as it looks like Karl's curiosity has been triggered.

NICK: This is ridiculous.
KARL: You know as well as I do that when an allegation is made, the hospital board is duty bound to investigate.
NICK: I understand that, I do okay, but this is not about Georgia or Paul okay, I promise my patients privacy and I'm not going to let them be held hostage by some mad woman!

Hospital (Paul's room)
Despite ordering Georgia out of the room earlier, it looks like Naomi's curiosity has been triggered too and she tries to convince Paul that there must be something behind her claims.

PAUL: Why would anyone go to such lengths to secure funding? No, no, no, Nick's right, this is all about Georgia being fired.
NAOMI: What if it isn't?
PAUL: Nick is a good doctor.
NAOMI: Okay?
PAUL: Oh come on, you can't deny that he's been good to me. He's been caring and supportive and...
NAOMI: But yes every other aspect of his life he's a Grade A jerk. Georgia... Georgia is a lot of things but she's not a liar.

However Paul's mind isn't for changing.

Number 24
"Officially I can't look at these," Mark tells Georgia after she shows him what she found on Nick's computer and admits that she did steal them.

GEROGIA: Mark, this is the biggest medical scam you are ever going to see and it's not just about money, Paul's life is in danger here, so either you've investigate me, if you look hard enough you will see what Nick's done.

Mark agrees to run it by his sergeant but isn't promising anything.

Hospital (Nick's office)
Nick is hastily removing files from his filing cabinets to box up when Rhonda enters his room. "I don't do walk in's," he informs her (she's got a referral from her oncologist) but when she mentions who her daughter is, she's suddenly welcomed with open arms!

Hospital (Paul's room)
Mark has paid Karl a visit to get the claims Georgia found verified and he in turn is after Paul's permission to do some investigating. Paul is still reluctant to believe Georgia's claims although Naomi is now beginning to believe Georgia.

KARL: It's either an unprecedented coincidence or yes, Georgia is onto something.

Naomi wants to know why Karl is keen to know whose idea it was to hide Paul's identity, so he explains if it was Paul then it was to protect his privacy, "and no harm done," but if it was Nick's then they have to consider it, "a possibility he was looking after himself."

Paul can't remember who suggested it and Naomi points out that she's witnessed Paul being sick etc. although Karl explains that is just the normal side effects of chemotherapy, not symptoms of cancer.

KARL: There's no doubt that Nick has been treating you with something but whether you've had cancer or not has to be determined.
PAUL: No, no, no, if it was a scam, I would have seen it, I would have caught him out besides Nick has not asked for one cent for my treatment.
NAOMI: Yet his research centre is flush with bequests, donations and funding.
KARL: When did you renew your support for the centre?
NAOMI: After your diagnosis.

It looks like the penny has well and truly dropped and Paul asks what Karl needs from him and he replies just his permission to access his medical files so he can cross-reference them against everything Georgia has found. "Do it," Paul replies with instructions to go through everything!

Hospital (Nick's office)
Nick is curious to know why Rhonda hasn't told Georgia she's in town and her reply is that she doesn't want Georgia to know the cancer is back. She also confirms that she's not mentioned his name to her daughter.

Harold's Store
Georgia is relieved that her mum is shopping so she doesn't see the anxious state she is currently in. "Relax," Kyle tells her and that Mark will be back to them soon with news.

KYLE: Nick's going to get caught then he will never hurt anyone ever again.

Hospital (Nick's office)
Just as Kyle was saying those words, we cut to Rhonda meeting with Nick. He confirms what her oncologist has said (that her cancer is aggressive) and because it's in her lymph nodes any traditional treatment won't have any affect. She seems aware of that and raises the possibility of undergoing one of his experimental treatments.

NICK: Are you prepared to put your full trust in me Rhonda?
RHONDA: Yes, absolutely.

Harold's Store
Kyle wants Georgia to tell her mum everything but she's reluctant to do so.

Hospital (Nick's office)
Nick agrees to Rhonda's request to keep Georgia out of the loop especially while she's on the new medication that begins as soon as Rhonda signs the paperwork.

Hospital (exterior)
Terese is helping her brother transport the boxes of medical files as she thinks he's going to be working on them at home. Just as they are about to leave, Mark (and a silent colleague) comes wanting a chat but Nick protests that he's too busy to do that. Mark warns him that his superiors may want to take things further and cautions him against leaving town!

The Waterhole
Terese wants Nick to sort things out with Georgia but he's reluctant to do that, coming up with just about any excuse there is.

TERESE: Look, your people skills leave a lot to be desired but you're a smart guy Nick, use your smarts to sort this out.

Hospital (Paul's room)
Naomi tries to veto Mark coming into chat with Paul as he's sleeping but when Mark cites its official police business (and refuses to tell her what it's about) agrees to come back in five minutes to allow her to wake Paul up.

Mark isn't amused about Naomi hanging around Paul's room and asks, "are you and Paul seeing each other?" She is surprised by his question and replies "no." So he then wants to know why she broke up with him and she tries to explain that they're not right, "both too screwed up to let anyone in." He is puzzled by this, reminding her that they were already letting each other in and that they'd something good together before she walked away.

NAOMI: We don't belong together, the sooner you accept that the better off we'll both be.

The Waterhole
Toadie/Sonya spot Rhonda taking some tablets as they enter the bar with Nell to have lunch. Rhonda quickly says that it's her vitamins she forgot to take and literally can't get out of the bar quick enough, saying she's off to have lunch with Georgia at their place.

Hospital (Paul's room)
Naomi is trying to undo the selling of Lassiters and instructs Tim to get a meeting organised as she re-enters Paul's room. Paul tells her about the questions Mark was asking before asking how things are going between them (he overheard their earlier chat). "We broke up," because things weren't right and he's sorry to hear that but wants to know why she didn't tell him. "Because my dramas are the last thing you need on your plate," she explains. "What if I want them there?" he asks and wants to be kept informed because he cares about what happens to her.

NAOMI: You do don't you?
PAUL: Yes I do.

There then follows a silent 'moment' between them before she leaves to make some phone calls.

Number 30
Georgia finally catches up with her mum and she manages to wriggle from her daughter what issues she is having although Georgia simplifies it as having issues with a colleague.

Hospital (Paul's room)
Karl informs Paul (and Naomi) that all test results done on him and on Patient X have been deleted from the system and adds that Nick is avoiding his calls. "Surely we can still prove he did this," Naomi asks and Karl explains that the files Georgia stole is inadmissible in court. "We have to see the hospital records," Paul says and Karl explains that's the ones that have been deleted but the IT department are onto it.

KARL: I have to say there is really only one way this could happen, which means that Georgia's accusations are probably on the money.
PAUL: So all of this was for the cancer research centre.
KARL: Mmm.
PAUL: After I got sick, I pulled every string, I roped in every investor I knew. I played right into his hands.

Hospital (Nick's office)
Nick arrives at the hospital but finds he can't gain access to his room and Karl appears moments later to inform him why - that the locks have been changed.

NICK: No-one thought to tell me?
KARL: Not once the IT department discovered the digital trail you left, wiping Paul's patient file. I've just come from a meeting of the hospital board, you've been suspended pending a full investigation.
NICK: They can't do that!
KARL: Yes they can and they have.
NICK: They are making a very serious mistake, one that will have personal, legal ramifications.
KARL: All of your cases will be reviewed.
NICK: You can't do...do that, I will...I will sue.
KARL: Once they have finished the investigation you will be given the opportunity to make a full account of your actions. If they find cause, they will refer your entire incident file to the Australian Medical Association. Now, I think we both know they will find cause.

Hospital (exterior)
Nick leaves the hospital and tells his sister that he's been suspended. She tries to reassure him that when the truth comes out, he will be vindicated.

TERESE: She is lying isn't she Nick?
NICK: I can cure cancer alright I know I can but Paul was threatening to pull his support and cancer is bigger than Paul, it's bigger than me. I just did what I had to do.
TERESE: And what did you have to do Nick? Tell me!
NICK: I didn't mean to poison him, it wasn't that strong a dose.
TERESE: Oh no.
NICK: Once he was cured then he'd realise how important the centre was and then I could go on and save others.
TERESE: So you played God?!
NICK: I made a rich and powerful man understand the importance of medical research. He was never going to die.
TERESE: It sounds like he could have.
NICK: I was going to stop the treatment then Georgia got in the way.
TERESE: So now you're going to run?
NICK: I have to, I can't go to jail alright and you can't tell anyone, you promise me okay?

Nick then walks away leaving Terese dumbfounded.
