Number 32
"You're going to blitz it," Daniel tells Amber as she is a tad nervous ahead of her first assignment for the West Warratah Star however a phone call from Imogen alerting her to Bailey being in hospital means she can't do the assignment as she's heading to the store.
Hospital
Georgia declares Bailey to be fine once they gets some fluids into him. Brad is feeling guilty at not telling him to stop but Bailey replies that nothing could have stopped him, he wanted the $500 prize money. "You're not going to be doing any running if you run yourself into the ground," Paige informs him.
Harold's Store
"He's dehydrated but he's going to be fine," Lauren tells Amber (and Imogen) after coming off the phone from Paige and is off to visit him as soon as Margie arrives. Lauren isn't too impressed to discover that Amber's put off an assignment and ropes Imogen in to help organise things for the wedding (another reason Amber was using to put off doing the assignment) to free Amber up.
Hospital
"We all make mistakes," Paige reassures Bailey with after he's still feeling guilty over all that has happened to the family but her advice is to learn from said mistakes and focus on the positives.
BAILEY: There are no positives.
The Waterhole
Brad admits to Terese that he feels responsible for Bailey pushing himself too much after taking the eye off the ball thanks to Nick's presence/the comment about Paige.
TERESE: You mean Bailey ended up in hospital because you had a bruised ego?
Brad isn't amused at her telling him that although she backs down after hearing about the inappropriate comment aimed at Paige.
BRAD: Don't make excuses for him because he has crossed the line.
TERESE: Look, he shouldn't have used Paige to goad you, and we know Nick's not perfect, but if he's going to live here you guys need to find a way to work it out.
Off Air
"Seems like you guys are pretty organised," Imogen sums up after going through the 'to do' list Amber texted her with Daniel.
We then discover a bit about the plans for the day - the wedding in the church, a picnic by the lake (guests to take their own food/utensils) and taking in the closing concert of the festival. Imogen isn't at all impressed with the lack of proper organisation for the wedding - there isn't even a guest list, anyone can turn up if they wish!
Harold's Store
Josh congratulates Amber when he hears about her assignment for the West Warratah Star. He offers a suggestion on how she can do the task the paper has set (a then and now thing) and even volunteers to stick around and help her achieve it.
Number 32
Lauren is relieved to see Bailey has gone straight to sleep on his return home from hospital. Paige fills her in on why he was trying so hard and volunteers to work with him when Lauren bemoans about the lengthy waiting list for counsellors.
Off Air
"There's more to life than love," Imogen tells Daniel after working on wedding arrangements - she's drawn up a guest list but Daniel is still holding firm on guests taking their own food for the picnic.
DANIEL: Some things are meant to be spontaneous.
IMOGEN: And a wedding is not one of those things!
"Please just trust me on this," she then adds and then explains her rationale - that if the food is great people forget everything else. Daniel loves her suggestion (and keeping to his theme of a picnic) of them providing picnic baskets filled with food/wine and wishes he'd thought of it.
IMOGEN: I am the wedding planning fairy and with a wave of my magical wand I'll make all your wishes come true.
Number 32
Paige's plan to help Bailey is to put on a puppet show (with the assistance of Lauren/Amber) to remind him of his goals/that what happened can be got over.
BAILEY: That was really lame.
PAIGE: But you're smiling.
PUPPET BAILEY: I must be feeling better.
BAILEY: For weeks I thought I was the biggest idiot in the house so thank you for proving me wrong!
Bailey then heads back to his room and Lauren asks if he insulted them. "I think he did," Paige proudly declares.
Off Air
Imogen is now trying to persuade Daniel to have their own raving band for the day and shows him a list of possible jazz bands. He's also not too keen on her suggestion about flowers and comments that some of what she is saying is for her own dream wedding! Imogen laughs it off but you can see on her face that he's not wrong!
The Waterhole
Amber returns to meet Josh at the bar and they continue working on her assignment and the idea that he came up with - that while buildings may change, the same spirit is still there, and shows her a photo of the original Waterhole from 1986. "It looks really different," she comments and before she goes to take photos of the new Waterhole, thanks him for his help/support in recent times.
Brad enters the bar to apologise in person but Matt is fine, he thinks that Bailey's been pushing himself too hard to overcome his demons. "We've all been there," Brad laments then confesses he missed what was happening after he got distracted following Nick's comment. Both bond over their wives love for their brothers regardless of what they do.
BRAD: I feel like I'm the one that needs to make all the concessions.
MATT: Well you know what it's like with family, they can say whatever they like about each other, we say one thing, they get all defensive.
BRAD: Tell me about it!
MATT: Sometimes it's just easier to say nothing at all.
BRAD: Wise words!
Off Air
Imogen apologises to Daniel for getting caught up in his wedding and he wards her off having negative thoughts that she'll never get married because she will meet someone someday.
Number 32
Brad is now round to personally apologise to Lauren too but like Matt she's fine, commenting that Bailey should have used his common sense to have stopped when he felt sick. She tells him about cheering Bailey up and adds, "I just hope he can let go of this guilt and that we're no longer in the red." Brad asks how they managed that and she explains about the mix-up with the back pay.
BRAD: Good timing!
LAUREN: Yes, almost too good to be true. I just hope it means we can stop stressing about this mortgage and Matt can cut back on his shifts.
Brad empathises with her after the cost of Josh's court case and Lauren admits that while things looked dire, they're now beginning to look up.
While the pair of them were chatting, Matt caught the tail end of the conversation but decides not to make his presence known.
Off Air/Outside the Garage
Over 'If our timing is true' we see Daniel/Imogen make paper cranes for the wedding in Off Air while Josh continues to help Amber with her assignment, this time comparing Carpenters Mechanics with Fitzgerald Motors.
Amber then decides to take photos of Grease Monkeys and Dimato's heavies aren't impressed, indeed the talking one thinks her camera should be broken!
Harold's Store
Brad comes in for a coffee and while he waits for Paige to make it, talks a bit about what distracted him from watching out for Bailey and tells her that if Nick is inappropriate (with her) she's to come straight to him, even if she seems a tad puzzled by the request.
Georgia gets a text from Nick while she's having a coffee telling her to 'Enjoy the ballet. I'll be there in spirit.'
Road outside Grease Monkeys
Amber is taking a last few photos when Dimato's heavies make their move and try to get the camera off her. Josh thankfully holds the men back and Amber explains that she was taking photos of the buildings not of any people. "I didn't mean to upset you," she says just as Mr Heavy goes for her camera but again, Josh steps in before he can get it and yells at him to "back off". "I'll handle it," Mr Heavy tells the silent two before then confronting Josh and when he goes to retaliate and Amber reminds him of his good behaviour bond so Josh issues the verbals instead - go anywhere near her and he'll regret it!
Thankfully the heavies retreat to the safety of Grease Monkeys and Josh hugs a shocked Amber.
Unmissable drama
- Nick giving Paul some tips.
- Daniel suggesting to Amber that they need to show they are serious.
- Paige unimpressed at Naomi/Mark pashing.
- More returnees appearing.
