- Susan not happy at Brad's commitment to teaching.
- Erin/Cat bonding playing cricket.
- Sonya suggesting Erin invites Cat to stay for a few days.
- Cat agreeing to stay.
- Josh finding some undeveloped film.
- Josh telling Amber his feelings about her.
- Daniel annoyed Amber isn't developing the film herself.
- Josh/Amber discovering something on one of the photos… a body!
Amber is coming up with a plan to help identify who the body is in the film they developed. “This could be big couldn't it?” Josh comments just as Daniel arrives. Unfortunately in his haste to see the body, Daniel knocks over one of the chemical bottles resulting in the negative being damaged.
Toadie apologises to Kyle for smashing the window and offers to pay for it. The pair end up bantering over the generations (and which are the better cricketers) so Toadie suggests they have a Ramsay Street cricket match of Generation X v Generation Y to also help celebrate Australia Day.
Terese turns down the invitation to join in the match as she's off to the airport (Imogen is taking her) to go see her other daughter Piper in Canada. Brad really wants to go but is staying back to do his school prep to save being on the end of Susan's wrath!
Sonya is telling Mark about her plan for Cat to come stay over at #24 if he agrees (the foster parents have agreed). He gives his approval to Cat coming (as long as she abides by the same house rules as her mum) but he's not sure if Erin is ready but Sonya is quick to say she is.
“It's really happening,” Erin comments after Mark leaves them and admits she isn't sure how she feels. “Happy,” is Sonya's suggestion because she's worked so hard for this to happen and encourages her by saying that she isn't a natural mother, so if she can do it, so can Erin.
With the negative ruined thanks to Daniel, the duo have came up with a plan B to get a better image of the body so they can start the detective work to find out who's it is! To make it up to them, Daniel volunteers to go talk to his dad about it, given he worked for the Erinsborough News.
Karl can't but help overhear the cricket conversation between Kyle and Toadie (they're still arguing about which generation is best) and volunteers his services, which is rejected as he's too old! Sheila now joins in the conversation to bat for the ‘baby boomers' and team- tags with Karl so that they get an invite to be part of the game.
SHEILA: Don't mess with the baby boomers because we control everything!
Reluctantly, Toadie/Kyle consent to them joining in – Karl to Kyle's team, Sheila to Toadie's.
Josh/Amber show Matt the photo and what they think is in it and want him to check his database to see if the murder was solved and tell him the date – May 1990. Somewhat reluctantly he heads off to do that and the duo decide to investigate themselves too.
Toadie is trying to convince Nell that generation X is best but his attention is drawn to Sonya – she's concerned that Erin hasn't returned from getting her wallet as they were due to go shopping to get supplies for Cat staying over. Hesitantly, because of what happened the last time she went looking for Erin, he gives her his okay to go look for her once she's put Nell to the babysitter.
Toadie is giving his team (Matt, Mark and Sheila) a pep talk before the match and Mark taking off his shirt encourages Naomi to suddenly stay and play! Kyle and his team (Georgia, Karl and Bossy!) exit #26 and after Kyle eventually removes his Australia flag cape and Toadie runs through the rules, Gen X v Gen Y begins.
Sonya finds Erin quicker this time – playing patients in the bar. She's trying to keep herself occupied, still getting used to the idea that Cat wants to live with her again.
The game is still in progress with Kyle smashing a ball down Ramsay Street!
After looking at the poster the duo has put up, they approach Paul to explain the background and their plans to put up more posters all around town. He thinks it's a waste of time as he knows the likely person – Wally the town drunk that used to sleep in bushes all over the place.
PAUL: He smelt like a corpse but he's very much alive.
Paul seems very chuffed to have solved the mystery and pulls the poster down but Josh would still rather the people in the foreground come forward to confirm it was Wally. He now informs them that it's against council rules to put posters up without permission and asks if he can get the negatives back of the film they developed, which Amber agrees to do later in the day.
When he is eventually alone, Paul makes a call to someone to say there is a problem about what they did in 1990!
Georgia is batting next but she's out quickly so its Gen X's turn but one by one they too are picked off until it's down to the final batter… Sheila! Toadie has to psych her up to play (with Mark running for her) and when she hits the ball, it should be an easy run out… except Bossy picks up the ball and runs up the #26 stairs towards the house (with Kyle in hot pursuit) meaning Gen X gets the 4 runs it needs to win the game. Despite Kyle's protest that the runs shouldn't stand, Toadie and Co enjoy lapping up their victory!
Sonya is reassuring Erin that having Cat to stay with her is what she wants and that she can cope being a mum again.
Nell isn't paying too much attention to her dad “interviewing” himself! Sonya returns and confirms that it's now all good with Erin and has suggested that they join them for supper, which Toadie is happy to agree to after she suggests that they have pizza!
Amber has let herself in to drop off the photos/negatives for Paul and Daniel reports back that he talked to his dad but he couldn't shed any light on the photo.
He bluntly asks if there's anything going on between her/Josh (no) and if there's going to be, which she replies with a question – why is he asking! “I'm scared that your feelings for him might come back,” Daniel admits and adds that she might think she'll be better suited to Josh than him. “I'm not suited to anyone right now,” Amber explains but that falls on deaf ears as Daniel replies back that he's only suited to her!
DANIEL: I love you, I've always loved you and I'll never stop loving you.
Just as he's declared his love, the fireworks go off (its Australia day afterall) and with ‘Run to you' playing in the background, Daniel leans in to kiss Amber but she pulls away and leaves the penthouse.
Toadie and Sonya are discussing pizza types when Mark rushes into the house unannounced asking “where is she?” Sonya asks who he is referring to and Mark explains that it's Erin he is meaning and that she's done a runner – all her stuff has gone along with his wallet, watch and laptop.
SONYA: I don't believe this.
Someone knocks at the door and Toadie says that will be Cat.
SONYA: What am I going to tell her?
- Sheila instigating ‘Operation eye candy'.
- Lucy asking Paul for advice.
- Cat realising her mum isn't at #30.
- Karl prompting Sonya with an idea on where Erin could be.
