Lassiter's - a hotel room
Terese looks sad as she wakes up alone in a double bed.
No 22
Josh is starting his community service work, and Doug advises him to keep his head down and work hard. Brad suggests to Doug that he might like to meet up with Paige, as he is meeting with Terese, although he doesn't know what he can say. Doug suggests taking her for a walk down memory lane.
DOUG: If you can recapture just a bit of that magic, it's got to make all the hard stuff much easier.
Ramsay Street
Toadie is leaving for work, and offers to meet Sonya for lunch. Chris and Nate walk past with Elvis, telling Toadie they are playing a prank on Karl. They see Sonya and greet her awkwardly. She's embarrassed, so Toadie assures her it will be over soon.
Waterhole
Paige calls Doug, arranging to meet him at no 22. She sees Terese and tells her that she hopes that she and Brad work things out, as he loves her. Paul saunters up with some work for her. He asks how she slept, and she comments that she's slept alone before, but she's always known she'd be going home before. He tells her not to go home just because she's lonely. She tells him she's meeting Brad to talk over some issues.
PAUL: Well, you make sure he steps up to the plate. Otherwise you moving out will have been a complete waste of time.
Community Centre
Nate puts Elvis in a shrub outside the centre, and Chris comes up with some possible captions for selfies they could take. They laugh and Chris is pleased to see that Nate looks happy.
NATE: Oh, painting the town red with a giant floral pig: who wouldn't enjoy that?
Josh and some other community service workers arrive to pick up some leaves, accompanied by Barry, their supervisor. Barry tells Josh to stop slacking.
Harold's
Sonya is telling Mark about what happened with Chris and Nate, while Nell is looking at a book. Lauren brings over some cake, and Sonya tells her that when she stole from Callum, she was "in a different place". Lauren says nobody is judging Sonya, or at least, she's not.
MARK: What Lauren said is true. No one's judging you!
SONYA: How can they not?. I'm judging me!
She says she feels like her life is out of control, and Mark points out that she can control how she reacts. He suggest they have cake!
Waterhole
Brad and Terese meet up and he takes Doug's advice and starts with when they first met. It doesn't go that well.
TERESE: Except then I realised that you were married...
BRAD: I told you straightaway that it wasn't working. I mean, Beth and I married way too young.
TERESE: And you had Ned.
BRAD: Well, as I remember it, it didn't put you off.
TERESE: Well maybe that was our first mistake.
She points out that their marriage started with infidelity, and it came back to haunt them later when she almost had an affair with Ezra.
TERESE: I was tempted, just like you were tempted with Lauren, even if only for a split second.
He says that people make mistakes, but she says they have to work out why it's happening to them.
Playground
Nell goes off to play, while Sonya chats to Mark. There is a squeal and Sonya dashes over in a panic. Mark says she's just bumped her head, but Sonya is frantic with worry. Nell is nonchalant.
No 22
Paige arrives to meet Doug, only to find he isn't there. Imogen is annoyed and tries his phone, which is on the table. The two girls go to search out the back of their respective houses.
Lassiter's - hotel room
Susan arrives to see Terese, saying that Brad was upset when he got back to school. Terese says that Brad only wanted to talk about the good things, and didn't want to face up to the bad stuff. Susan is surprised to hear that Paul has been giving advice.
TERESE: And if it wasn't for Paul, I probably would have run home to Brad by now.
Lassiter's Complex
Brad, meanwhile, is asking Lauren for advice, even though she isn't sure it's a good idea.
BRAD: Our lives and problems are entwined, whether we like it or not.
She tells him not to give up: Matt took weeks to process what happened. She puts a hand on his shoulder as she tells him to be patient. Paul sees what happens.
Community Centre
Imogen and Paige dash up to Josh and tell him about Doug going missing. Chris and Nate offer to help. Josh goes to ask the supervisor for permission to join the search, but he doesn't believe the excuse and refuses.
BARRY: You show up, you do the time, end of story.
JOSH: But I can't just be here while he's out there missing.
Barry threatens to report Josh, but he leaves anyway.
Harold's
Sonya is upset that she wasn't watching Nell when the accident happened. Toadie points out that it's just a small bump. Brad comes in to ask if they've seen him - which they haven't - and Terese comes in and asks Brad if he's carried out the action plan they created for this situation. Brad say no: he panicked.
No 28
Chris and Nate come back to find the door open. Nate says they must have left it open when they came to steal Elvis. Chris finds Doug asleep on the couch. Josh wakes him up, and Chris calls Imogen.
Waterhole
Terese asks Susan if she has time to help with the search, but then Brad gets a call saying Doug's been found at Susan's. Brad asks Terese to come over to spend some time with Doug. She accepts, but then Paul asks her to meet him to blue sky something. As you do. Susan corners Paul to ask him about his marriage counselling.
SUSAN: What's your angle?
PAUL: Why would I have an angle?
SUSAN: Because you're you.
PAUL: Look, Terese is my esteemed colleague, and more importantly, she was very supportive of me when Kate died.
She asks if he's supporting her in getting back together with Brad, but he won't commit himself.
PAUL: Terese is... she's smart, she's driven, she's sophisticated. Brad, on the other hand is useless, lazy and a cheat. Why should she have to put up with that?
SUSAN: Because he's her husband and she loves him?
He tells her that he doesn't want to pursue Terese, but he thinks she can do better than Brad. And he hopes it will happen.
Community Centre
Josh, Imogen and Paige are walking along to where the Community Service workers are still picking up leaves (or whatever). Josh hopes that he will be able to carry on working, given that he just walked off earlier. Barry tells him he can't. Paige tells him it's not fair, and Imogen adds that Josh wouldn't leave unless it was vitally important. Barry asks who they are.
BOTH: I'm his sister.
BARRY: I can see the resemblance and the mouthy attitude. Must run in the family.
IMOGEN: We just want you to understand that Josh is a good person...
PAIGE: ...who shouldn't be punished for caring for his sick grandfather.
Barry agrees to let Josh back, having told him he's lucky to have sisters who defend him. Josh tells Imogen and Paige that Barry is right - they are similar.
BOTH: No, we're not. We're not.
IMOGEN: Can you stop that?
PAIGE: Can YOU stop that?
Josh tells them it's stupid to be at each other's throats when they both want to defend the family. He asks them if they are going to get along. They decide to go and see Doug-by different routes!
No 30
Isabella from the Department of Human Services arrives, saying they've had a report that Sonya is neglecting Nell. Mark says that it was an everyday accident, and Toadie asks who made the report. Isabella says she can't say, but they have to investigate every report. However, she can see everything is fine, so she leaves. Sonya is upset that her past is still haunting her.
SONYA: Whoever this is, they're in Erinsborough, and they're watching my every move.
Unmissable Drama
- Gary asks Kyle if there's a chance they could get to know each other
- Terese and Brad argue
- Toadie feels he can't help Sonya
- Toadie tells Mark he doesn't know how much longer Sonya can cope
- Sonya with a bottle of wine
