Number 26
Kyle is sitting in shock at having seen his dad for the first time since he was 8 years old and tells his wife that he didn't think anyone had been in contact since then too. Sheila arrives back and Georgia is shocked that the only thing Kyle has talked to his Gran is about to discuss dinner, he wants her to bring up who she was meeting not him.

Harold's Store
Paige attempts to make polite conversation (about Sonya) with Mark when he comes into the store but eventually he cuts her off and departs. Bailey (who is helping out his sister) calls her conversation attempts with him pathetic and asks why didn't she ask him out? "It's too soon," is her immediate reply plus remarks on how he cut her off. Bailey suggests some ways in how she could engage him in conversation...getting round to going onto a date and his reward is not going home to study (as he is wanting to do) but going out with her on a run!

Number 26
Georgia tries to talk to her husband about his dad but he explains that his relationship isn't like hers with her parents.

GEROGIA: I know but this is important too, you have a right to know what happened, what's happening now.
KYLE: Maybe I don't want to know?
GEROGIA: He's your dad Kyle. I know we haven't talked about him much but whenever we do, I can tell that you still wonder about him. Don't you think you deserve this chance?
KYLE: What if it's not a chance? What if I'm just dodging a bullet?

Number 32
Daniel tries to reassure Amber that she is ready for her media studies exam (her best subject), when she thinks she isn't. She isn't too amused at Paige/Bailey mucking around in the background either when Daniel is trying to test her.

Road outside Community Centre
"If we go any slower we'll be walking!" Paige responds to her brother when he pleads for them to slow down while they are out jogging but hoping to run into Mark at the same time. They don't see him sitting at the rotunda though as they continue to jog through the complex.

Number 26
"Sounds serious," Sheila replies when Kyle asks her to sit down at the kitchen table and Georgia brings up that they saw her with his dad earlier. She's concerned that they were spying on her but Kyle explains about her acting weird and knew something was up.

SHEILA: This is very rude of you. I don't have to answer to either of you and I don't like being followed!
GEROGIA: I don't like my husband being hurt by his own family.

Kyle finally joins the conversation to say he wants to know what is happening - why is she seeing Gary (he refuses to call him 'dad').

SHEILA: He's my son.
KYLE: And he's my dad. He was meant to be missing in action and suddenly he's not. Tell me what's going on.
SHEILA: I can't do that.
KYLE: What do you mean you can't?
SHEILA: Its...its...its tricky alright! You just have to believe me on that.
KYLE: Believe you after this?! Are you kidding me! Tell me what's going on!
SHEILA: ...
KYLE: FINE!

Kyle is about to bolt but Georgia pulls him back and tells them both, that nobody is going anywhere as they need to talk!

(Later)

Commercial break later and Sheila calmly explains that she was just trying to protect Kyle. He asks her some basic questions about Gary - what does he do, where does he live and why doesn't he have any cash of his own? She tells him what she knows - that he's an odd job man and he's is extremely vague about anything else but does let it slip that she's seen him intermittently too. Kyle is annoyed at his dad not seeing him and Sheila explains that she begged him to make contact with Kyle every time she saw Gary but he refused to do so.

SHEILA: (tearfully) That's why I didn't tell you because I didn't want to see that look on your beautiful face. I love you Kyle and I just wanted to save you from this. You've got to believe me.

Path somewhere
As Daniel walks Amber to school, she is still freaking out big style and not even him joking that she could get an exclusive shot of William and Kate's second baby can distract her. Rain interrupts them to ask about the photos she wanted but it's too much for Amber to think of just now and she leaves them and walks on to school.

Lassiters Complex
Looks like their hard (running) work has paid off because Paige/Bailey spot Mark in the complex! They walk over to him and try to engage him in conversation but this time she gets the official brush off when he tells her that he's "too busy" before walking off! Bailey tries to say it wasn't as bad as she is thinking and her reply is that it was worse!

Fitness area
Sheila meets up with Gary at the fitness area of Lassiters Park and tells him that Kyle knows he's in town and that it's not gone down well. When that is met without a decent reply, Sheila asks Gary if he's going to see his son and his reply is that she knows he can't.

SHEILA: Gary, he's your son, he's hurting and if you can't see him you need to stop calling me for help.
GARY: Come on mum, you don't have to be like that!
SHEILA: How should I be? Happy? Proud? All these years I've been trying to get you to see Kyle and you wouldn't do it and now watching you hurt that poor boy all over again, well it's too painful.
GARY: ...
SHEILA: I mean it Gary! You either talk to him today or this is it for us, you can go away for good.

School playground
Rain catches up with Amber as she is waiting to enter the school to sit her exam. She's not calmed down any and Rain's advice is for her not to sit the exam, it won't change the things that matter - being with Daniel, taking photos and her family being there for her!

RAIN: You have a gift. You were put on this earth to take photos, not to sit exams and today is just one step in that journey, one afternoon along the way. That's it, so don't give it any more power than it deserves.
AMBER: One afternoon.
RAIN: Do this, don't do it, it's up to you.

Amber thanks her before joining the others who have now entered for the exam.

Number 26
Kyle is telling Georgia that he used to imagine his dad like he was someone cool like Indiana Jones and confirms her question that nobody (his mum, Gran, Naomi) told him anything, they just changed the subject.

KYLE: So I just started thinking he was dead and they didn't know how to tell me. Beats the hell out of the truth that he just didn't want anything to do with me.
GEROGIA: Hey, that is his loss because I'll take as much of you as I can get.

Kyle takes Bossy out for a walk moments before Sheila arrives home. Georgia asks if she will call Gary for her but Sheila thinks it's a bad idea, they should just forget about him and get on with things.

GEROGIA: Kyle's not going to just forget about his father.
SHEILA: Let it go love, for all our sakes.

But of course Georgia isn't and she goes into Sheila's bag and spots his number in her phone.

Harold's Store
Mark apologises to Paige for being a jerk earlier, the stuff with Sonya is getting to him and then explains to her his thinking (about Kate being targeted) and that he wants to stop that from happening to Sonya. Paige reassures him he's doing fine and is sorry that it's bring up bad memories for him. He asks if the offer to hang by the pool is still on and from the smile Paige has on her face I'd say it was!

School playground
Daniel waits for Amber to come out of her exam and when she does, she confirms that she feels great (which he's almost surprised to hear) and apologises for her behaviour earlier too.

AMBER: My meltdown is officially over!
DANIEL: Phew!

He's curious to know how that happened and she explains the visit from Rain, adding too that she probably over judged her. Both agree to go help Rain out to get the community set up.

Number 32 backyard
Paige, Mark and Bailey play volleyball in the pool.

Harold's Store
Rain is stoked to have Daniel/Amber on board but not as she initially thought of them living there (because it's not their thing), just helping to get it up and running.

Lassiters Park
Gary is a bit confused about things when Georgia explains who she is to him (he thought initially it was just some random person Sheila sent to meet him, not his daughter in law). She tells him about Kyle's dreams but stopped because it was less painful for him to think that Gary was dead.

GARY: Less painful? I thought I was doing the right thing by him staying away, leaving him open to do what he wanted, to lead his life.
GEORGIA: He thinks about you every day.
GARY: I didn't think he would want anything to with me.
GEORGIA: You thought wrong.

Gary looks genuinely shocked at that statement and admits that he didn't think that he deserved to be Kyle's dad and Georgia is sorry that he felt that way... the easy way out. She wants him to not walk away again (he's about to) telling him that there is a relationship there for the talking if he wants it.

GEORGIA: And I know that he does.
GARY: I don't know.
GEORGIA: Well I do know, I married the guy, I know him better than anyone else and I know that he really wants this to happen.
GARY: ...
GEORGIA: Please Gary, this would mean everything to him.

Number 26
"Been better," is Kyle's reply to Sheila asking how he is when he returns home after walking Bossy. She admits that she knows she should have either cut Gary off or talked to him (about his dad) but just got caught between a rock and a hard place and didn't know how to get out of it.

SHEILA: But if I've hurt you or if I lost you, I don't know what I'm going to do.

"You haven't lost me Gran," he tells her after a hug and asks that there is no more secrets...ever! They are just hugging again when Georgia arrives home and tells them both she's brought someone with her.

She leads the pair of them through from the kitchen to the living room where Gary is standing. Sheila is happy to see him but Kyle looks very unsure of what/how he is supposed to react.
