Amber would so like them to have their own place and he suggests they start saving after he gets himself a career.
Toadie gets word that they've secured the contract with the naturists and thanks Sonya for her assistance in securing it. After she heads off to the nursery to deal with a difficult client, Toadie calls Mark to arrange to meet him regarding the anonymous letter.
Mark's advice after reading it is not to go jumping to conclusions. Toadie is bemused at the claims especially since he knows all that stuff already and Mark thinks it could be to stir up trouble possibly due to a grudge with someone either of them has had lately. Sheila and Naomi are the only names Toadie can think of (in connection with Josh's case) but then adds that its unlikely to be them… however then has another ponder about Naomi although he still thinks it's not her. Mark asks him to talk to Sonya about it too in case it's just a prank even though Toadie would rather not get her involved.
Imogen/Josh are sitting at the juice bar trying to come up with a defence when Amber/Chris arrive. Amber gets him to sit down while she goes to get some drinks and at the counter, tells Josh not to keep avoiding Chris. Imogen replies that Josh is simply following Chris' orders and he's now fretting again at the prospect of Chris losing his job after Amber updated then on how he's going.
Josh is round to volunteer his services to help keep Chris in a job but Mark doesn't want to hire him as he's not qualified and there are insurance problems too. It then comes out about what Josh has unofficially been doing in the garage and somewhat hesitantly, Mark agrees to him helping out.
Paul is delighted to hear that Daniel plans on joining the rat race so that he can get a place with Amber and goes to get the ball rolling by calling a contact.
Toadie calls round to see his wife and subtly quiz her on if she has problems with late payers to see if he can work out who sent the letter. Sonya replies back that she hasn't (other than one who she's currently dealing with) but when she goes to do something, Toadie grabs the folder with ‘unpaid invoices' on it.
Mark is impressed at the work Josh has done so far and gives him more instructions while he heads off to deal with a tricky customer who has just pulled up.
Amber has rightly guessed where Josh is and tries to ward him off helping out in case Chris gets wind of it especially as it's against Chris' wishes. Josh reply that he's simply just trying to make it up to Chris and begs her to keep quiet/not tell him to stop.
Toad subtly returns the invoice folder whilst bringing snacks for Sonya. As they chat, it looks like he's thinking the letter could be GA related.
“It's a mini- moneybags,” Sheila comments after seeing the newly booted and suited Daniel. Paul advises him to shave off the stubble too and that he should get rid of his “hunk of junk” and use Paul's instead.
DANIEL: I'm pretty attached to it.
PAUL: Well sentimentality and business don't mix mate, just doesn't make the right statement.
Daniel heads off and Sheila comments to Paul that he doesn't belong in that monkey suit and isn't impressed at Paul yet again trying to turn another person into a mini- Paul.
PAUL: There is nothing wrong with a little ambition.
SHEILA: This is not Daniel's ambition, it's yours.
Paul then points out that it was Daniel's decision (so he can have a future with Amber), he's just helped steer him in the right direction. Sheila then spells it out for Paul – he's doing it for Amber not him!
In the pool, Amber is trying to encourage Chris to do is exercises while at the same time talking to him about Josh. Chris doesn't want to talk about him and she explains that Josh really trying to do the best for him.
CHRIS: Don't defend him!
AMBER: Look, I know Josh has his faults, but don't we all?! I think I fell in love with the person he could have been, I don't know, it's like that person's finally starting to come out.
CHRIS: Please! He's the centre of his own universe. The only person Josh cares about is Josh, you should know that.
AMBER: Look, I know you're really angry, and you have every right to be, but you hit Josh once.
CHRIS: That is not the same thing.
AMBER: But it could have been if Josh ends up hurt like you.
CHRIS: Well he didn't.
AMBER: But you didn't know that until after you'd done it. Look, my point is people make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes go really wrong. That's all it was, a mistake.
CHRIS: Well that doesn't help me, does it?!
Mark asks Josh to hold the fort while he nips out to see Toadie.
Paul is going through a mock interview with Daniel to help him refine his responses so they are more professional and less personal. Daniel suggests he lies in the interviews to help him get where he wants. “Most people do,” Paul replies then has an idea that Daniel could run the bar that was being planned for the former PirateNet site.
PAUL: You can't be any worse than Dakota!
Daniel is really up for that suggestion and celebrates with a big hug for Paul!
Sonya is rather surprised to see Mark in her home chatting with Toadie when she arrives home. She also comments on people suddenly paying up too before going off to make a salad to accompany the lasagne.
Mark warns him that things will get complicated if he keeps going behind her back and Toadie explains he was hoping to resolve it rather than drag her into it.
MARK: We're running out of leads.
Toadie explains his thinking that it could be related to GA or to Troy and refuses again to tell Sonya until all avenues have been exhausted. Mark asks him not to worry; hopefully it's just a one off.
The tricky customer Mark was dealing with earlier returns and marches straight into the garage to get his phone as he forgot to take it with him. Josh points out customers aren't allowed into the garage interior so the customer orders Josh to go get the phone for him. He isn't sure about doing that as he is unsure of the protocol since he doesn't really work there, so the customer decides to ignore Josh and go get it himself.
JOSH: I'd really rather you wait.
CUSTOMER: Says the kid who really doesn't work here.
The customer goes into the car and retrieves his phone but also inadvertently puts the car into gear. “How hard was that,” he remarks while showing off the phone as he walks away.
Moments later, the car rolls off the mini- ramp that it's been on and with the momentum its building up, it is heading straight for a collision with another car, until Josh literally puts his body on the line and takes the force of the impact, trapping himself between the two cars.
