No 24
Sienna turns up, having received messages from Brennan and calls from the police. She says she's scared, but Brennan is unsympathetic, demanding she tell him where she really was when Kate was shot. She insists she had nothing to do with Kate's shooting, and has never handled a gun.
SIENNA: When I saw you that morning, and I realised you were going to propose to her, I was devastated. I didn't know what to do or where to go. And I ended up wandering around Lassiter's. I stopped in at the hotel bar for a drink. And then I saw you, at the lake, surrounded by all your friends. And I realised she said yes. So I gave up then and there, and I went straight to the airport.
Sienna says she made up the false alibi about being with her cousin, because she knew she'd be a suspect and couldn't prove what her movements were. She knows it was stupid, but just wanted to put the whole mess behind her. She asks Brennan to come to the police station with her for moral support.
Community Centre (outside)
Imogen asks Chris for his opinion on a dress she's bought for her eighteenth birthday party. He wishes her happy birthday and says he hopes everything will be okay with Doug. Imogen asks if Chris is coming to the party, but he says he's not in the mood because of his break-up with Hudson. She suggests the more low-key distraction of taking her for a driving lesson!
IMOGEN: You, me, Hermione. We could take the top off, play some tunes, get to know each other better?
CHRIS: You've asked everyone else, haven't you?
IMOGEN: Guilty as charged. But it's my birthday, so it's practically illegal for you to say no.
Chris agrees to give her a lesson this afternoon, and goes inside the centre. But as Imogen departs, Daniel skateboards into her, ruining the new dress she's bought! Imogen starts screaming at him, and Daniel promises to replace it - but she says there's no time, as she has to look amazing tonight.
DANIEL: Who's the lucky guy?
IMOGEN: No-one. Forget it!
She storms off.
Lassiter's Complex
It seems Brennan has decided to support Sienna, and he tells her just to be honest with the police as they approach the station. Paul sees them, and angrily darts into the hotel.
Mandy Edwards walks out of the hotel - eagle-eyed viewers will remember she's the wife of local dropkick Eric, who tried to sue the gym and later Toadie, to combat his family's financial problems. She runs into her old friend Sonya, explaining that Eric has got a new job and that they've started seeing a marriage counsellor, which appears to be working. Sonya is inordinately pleased for her.
Mandy mentions that she and Eric are thinking of renewing their wedding vows, but has been asking in the hotel and their service is very expensive. Sonya says she knows someone who might be able to help.
Harold's Store
Sonya has introduced Susan to Mandy, who is explaining she is looking for a low-key vow renewal ceremony. Susan explains that it would be her first time as celebrant, so she wouldn't charge Mandy and Eric the full cost. Mandy seems keen on the idea, and agrees for Susan to take on the job.
Erinsborough Police Station
Paul comes in, looking for Sienna - but Matt says she's given her statement and left again. Paul's furious that Sienna hasn't been locked up on suspicion of Kate's murder, but Matt says they don't have enough evidence to charge her. Sienna is a suspect, Matt says, as she lied about her alibi, but they're currently checking out her new story. Paul is angry, but their conversation is interrupted by Imogen's arrival, and he storms off.
An angry Imogen tells Matt she wants to make a complaint about reckless skateboarders, explaining Daniel nearly knocked her over, and saying there must be some law against it. Matt says he'll look into it, and Imogen leaves.
Suite 1 Eclipse Apartments
Paul is ranting and raving at the Lassiter's Staffer, who hasn't cleaned the penthouse to his satisfaction. Daniel comes in, saying it's all his mess, but Paul continues to shout at the hapless underling. Daniel whispers an apology to the guy as he walks out, but Paul tells Daniel not to undermine him when he's berating his staff. However, Daniel replies that Paul shouldn't speak to his staff like that.
PAUL: Well if you don't like it, you know where the door is.
Paul gets more and more wound up, and Daniel asks him what's really wrong. He explains that the police had a very strong suspect for Kate's murder in custody, but have let her go.
DANIEL: There's more to it, though, isn't there?
PAUL: Kate's death may have been because of me.
DANIEL: What do you mean?
PAUL: Well this person I'm talking about, Sienna - I goaded her pretty badly just before Kate was shot. I think it's my fault.
Daniel tells Paul he's sure it's not his fault, and that he needs to find other ways to let out his emotions than screaming at people.
PAUL: And what do you suggest?
DANIEL: Go out into the bush. Scream at the sky, throw a few rocks. If you don't get it out there, these bad feelings are gonna eat you up.
PAUL: Maybe you're right. Maybe there is a way to get it out there.
No 24
Brennan is reading out an article on the West Waratah Star website, by scurrilous journo Ruby Knox. It's all about Sienna being a suspect in Kate's murder, and is accompanied with a large photo of Sienna, who's worried everyone will think she's guilty once they've read it. Brennan wants to contact the Star and try to force them to take the article down, but Sienna says the damage is already done, and that she doesn't have the money to mount a legal challenge. She wonders who leaked the information, and Brennan says he has a fair idea.
Harold's Store
Susan is telling Karl about her first celebrant booking for Mandy and Eric, but admits she's quite nervous about the gig. Karl reassures her.
KARL: Hey! You can handle it.
SUSAN: I hope so.
KARL: Of course you can.
SUSAN: Well, for that, I'm gonna buy you lunch.
KARL: And I'm gonna let you!
But as Susan goes to the counter, Karl suddenly gets an idea, and calls Sonya...
Lassiter's Complex
Daniel is skateboarding, and Matt tells him there's been an official complaint about it. He can't tell him who complained but Daniel immediately guesses it was Imogen; Matt reminds him that the police can impose fines for reckless skateboarding. Daniel promises to be more careful, and asks Matt if he knows how he could make it up to Imogen. Matt mentions it's her birthday, and Daniel realises why she got so upset about the dress. He decides to find a way to apologise.
Suite 1 Eclipse Apartments
Brennan confronts Paul, demanding to know why he leaked the story to the press. He claims he did it for justice, and to make himself feel better, suggesting that Sienna is behind Kate's murder. Brennan insists he knows Sienna well enough to be sure that she didn't do it - but Paul insists that she did, and that he will make her pay in the civil court if the police can't make it stick.
BRENNAN: This isn't even about solving the case anymore, is it? You just want to punish someone. Anyone.
But Paul doesn't reply, and shows Brennan out.
No 22
Imogen is deploying a stain remover on her dress in a bid to rescue it, but isn't having much success. Daniel turns up to make his apology. Imogen isn't very receptive, so he hands her a gift - a new party dress to replace the one he ruined. Imogen examines it.
IMOGEN: Are you serious? Look at me. I am petite, not a Sasquatch. It's way too big. And secondly, it's not even my style. I'm into modern vintage, not whatever this is.
Imogen hands the new dress back to Daniel, and tells him to leave.
The Waterhole
Karl meets up with Mandy, having acquired her contact details from Sonya. He tells her that he helps out with Susan's celebrant work by supplying 'extras', including free photography.
KARL: And a band.
MANDY: As in a live band?!
KARL: Oh, everything, right down to the songs. We can custom-design something to suit your wildest desires.
Mandy isn't keen on Karl's extras, having wanted to keep the ceremony understated, but he won't let it drop and tries to talk her round. He hands her a sample CD of The Right Prescription, and tells her the ceremony will be one of a kind! Mandy doesn't know what to say...
Lassiter's Complex
Chris is giving Imogen her driving lesson, but she's distracted, and keeps moaning on about Daniel and the unsuitable replacement dress he bought her. She's so distracted, in fact, that she reverses straight into Daniel! He's unhurt, but his skateboard is destroyed - and he's convinced that Imogen did it deliberately to get back at him. She insists it was an accident, but he doesn't believe her, and walks off.
Sonya's Nursery
Mandy has summoned Susan to talk about the ceremony, reiterating that she only wanted something low-key. She explains that Karl has spoken to her to offer all the extras, which has made it all too complicated. As a result, she and Eric have decided to go with another celebrant. Mandy wishes Susan luck with her enterprise, however. Susan looks annoyed.
No 24
Sienna is on the phone, but the call ends abruptly. She tells Brennan it was her boss, who has apparently seen the article on the Star website and fired her. Brennan tells her not to stress, as the truth will come out soon. Sienna then gets a text, and tells Brennan it's from her roommate, who no longer feels comfortable living with her and has told her not to come home.
SIENNA: Do you think maybe I could stay with you for a while? Just until I find my feet.
BRENNAN: I don't think it's the best idea.
SIENNA: Please! I know I've made bad decisions, but I'm paying for them. Everyone hates me - even my cousin won't talk to me 'cause I made her lie to the police. Please? You're all I've got.
Brennan looks slightly put out.
