Kyle finds Kate clearing plates off the patio table. He asks after Mason; she tells him he's gone. She asks why Kyle invited Mason around; he explains he was hoping that Kate and Mason would be able to work things out. Kate says she's happy Kyle and Georgia are back together, but that she can't be with Mason, after everything that's happened with Brennan and Kyle. He tries to persuade her not to give up on her relationship with Mason, but Kate tells Kyle to stay out of her love- life.
Lauren is speaking angrily on the phone to her bank, in the hope of increasing her overdraft. She tells them not to speak to her husband when they ring back, but to call her directly. Mason comes in, cursing himself for ruining things with Kate; Lauren's sure she'll come round in time, but Mason says he should have made things work with Imogen.
LAUREN (worried): You were with Imogen?
Mason explains it's already over, and how Imogen ended it because she thought Mason wanted Kate instead. Lauren realises that this is what Mason was arguing with Josh about, and points out that Mason would be similarly protective towards Amber. Mason thinks Josh is a tool, however; and adds that his relationship with Kate is over. Lauren tries to persuade him not to give up on her, but Mason exits, leaving Lauren looking worried.
Mason runs into Josh. At first, Josh is slightly conciliatory, explaining he thought Mason was hassling Imogen, which is why he lost his temper. But Mason responds with hostility, so Josh reverts to form, asking Mason if he's planning his next robbery.
MASON: You want to come a little closer and say that again, Pool Boy?
JOSH: Careful. You don't want to violate your good behaviour bond.
MASON: From now on – you see me, walk the other way.
Lauren calls on Kate, to invite her round for dinner tonight. Kate instantly suspects it's Mason's idea, but Lauren assures her it's not – adding that Mason really misses Kate. Kate declines the dinner invite, but does admit she's struggling. She explains to Lauren that Brennan coming back brought up a lot of issues for her, which hasn't been fair on Mason. Feeling like Kate needs a friend, Lauren suggests just the two of them go to lunch tomorrow, but Kate tells her she's fine, and Lauren leaves.
Lauren rushes into work, telling Vanessa she needs to have a word with her later. Brad is in the store, and Lauren asks him if he knew about Mason and Imogen. Brad makes out that Imogen mentioned it, and Lauren warns him that she thinks Mason could end up using Imogen to get back at someone else. Brad thanks her, saying he'll talk to Imogen. Lauren looks worried as he leaves.
In the kitchen, Lauren breaks the news to Vanessa that there will need to be a reduction in her hours. Vanessa admits she heard Lauren talking to the bank on the phone, and tells Lauren it's fine; she'd been meaning to start her own cupcake business, and this would mean she could work from home and be with Patrick. The pair suddenly realise that none of the electrical appliances in the kitchen are working; Vanessa thinks it's probably just a fuse, but Lauren fears it's more serious.
Imogen catches Josh looking at swimming coach Don Cotter's website, and when Josh is evasive, threatens to tell Brad. When Josh begs her not to, Imogen demands to know what's going on; Josh admits he's not sure Brad has the right training approach, as he's never coached anyone before. Imogen says Josh should tell Brad if he's having doubts, but Josh insists he's just doing research.
Matt comes in and notices Harold's is only serving sandwiches, but Lauren fails to tell him about the electricity, preferring to lie and say they haven't had chance to finalise the new food menu yet. Matt offers to stick around and help, but Lauren insists she's fine and sends him back to work. In the kitchen, Barney the electrician tells Lauren that a fuse has short- circuited the whole kitchen. He had told Steph that the whole kitchen needed rewiring, but she had never called him back to carry out the job. He tells Lauren that the job will cost a few grand, and she tells him to go ahead.
Later, Lauren calls the bank again, but they won't agree to extend her overdraft. She confides in Vanessa, who tells her she needs to let Matt know what's going on. Lauren is unwilling to do so, given that she and Matt gave up buying a house in order to buy Harold's, and says she should have checked out the electrics before she signed the contract. She also claims to have stuffed up her previous business, the riding school in Mount Isa, and doesn't want to let Matt down again.
Impulsively, Vanessa offers to lend Lauren the money to fix the electrics, saying they don't have to tell Matt. In exchange, Lauren would let Vanessa use the kitchen after hours to make cupcakes for her new business. A relieved Lauren agrees, thanking Vanessa for bailing her out.

Imogen is doing yoga, when Brad arrives and asks her about her relationship with Mason. He's annoyed he had to learn it from Lauren, but Imogen insists it was never a secret. Brad admits he's been busy with Josh, and Imogen says she understands – his training takes up a lot of time. Brad tells her she's important to him too, however; and to prove it, he cancels a training session with Josh in order to spend the day with her, telling him to train on his own for today. Imogen looks pleased.
Brad comes in to pick up some brownie ingredients for his day of father- daughter time with Imogen. He admits to Lauren that he hadn't known about her relationship with Mason, and worries he's been neglecting Imogen. Lauren tells him she and Matt had no idea Amber was dating anyone for six months, and reassures Brad that Imogen knows he loves her. He thanks her, and leaves.
Brad and Imogen are making brownies. He apologises for being so wrapped up with Josh's swimming, and says it doesn't mean he doesn't love her. Since she's always been so independent, he and Terese had assumed Imogen would come to them if there was a problem. Imogen says it would be nice if they checked in with her now and again, particularly now her sister Piper's away.
IMOGEN: No- one even checked with me before we moved here.
BRAD: Well it was the best thing for your mum and Josh. We just assumed you'd find a way to fit in; you always have.
IMOGEN: I've had no choice.
They make a deal that they'll each ‘check in' with one another more often in future. To this end, Brad asks what happened with Mason, but Imogen doesn't give him any detail, other than that it's over. Brad asks if Imogen would tell him if she had a long- term relationship, and she jokingly says ‘maybe'.
Don Cotter is supervising some of his swimmers' exercise routines, when Josh comes over and says he's been reading up on his website, and how he's been training a swimmer called Hudson Walsh. Josh asks if Don could give him a few tips, and Don agrees.

Imogen fills Amber in on her bonding session with Brad, and how he asked lots of questions about Mason. Despite that being what she wanted, Imogen admits to Amber that she still isn't happy, fearing that things will just go back to how they were as regards Josh hogging Brad's time. She complains that Josh has always come first for her parents, and that discussing the problem doesn't make it go away.
Matt runs into Lucas at the bar, and somehow they get talking about Barney, the electrician from Harold's. Evidently, Vanessa has told Lucas that she has lent Lauren the money to pay for Barney's rewiring work, but has failed to tell him to keep it a secret from Matt. Matt is not impressed, and Lucas realises he's put his foot in it.
Matt confronts Lauren about the loan from Vanessa and Lucas. She explains she didn't tell him because she felt as if she'd let him down. Matt insists she hasn't, arguing that Lyn should have mentioned it when she sold Harold's to them. Matt tells her they'll sort everything out, but that Lauren needs to tell him when things go wrong, rather than trying to deal with it herself. He insists she's going to make the business really successful, but as they hug, she looks worried.
Don Cotter continues to persuade Josh to try swimming middle- distance, saying he has the build for it. Don doesn't seem impressed when Josh tells him that Brad has never trained a swimmer before, and he invites Josh down to the pool to train with his swimming team. Josh is excited, but wants to call home to let his dad know. Don insists it's just one session, not a contract; he's sure Brad won't mind.
Later, Josh comes home late. He admits he's been down at the pool, doing a session with Don Cotter – and that Don has offered him a place on his squad. Not only that, but Josh has said yes.
