Rhiannon is laughing about the look on Mason's face when he saw her. Mason asks where Jackson is, he's back in Mount Isa with Rhiannon's sister, as a 2 day bus trip isn't much fun with an 8 year old. Rhiannon flirts with Mason, but Mason holds back from her. After she kisses him he decides to go get some food.
Amber meanwhile is in the kitchen. Mason checks that his parents are out and brings Rhiannon out to see Amber. They assure Amber that Rhiannon just arrived, she didn't spend the night. Mason and Amber say that their parents are going to be back soon so Amber suggests Mason takes Rhiannon out for breakfast and shows her around. Rhiannon loves the idea, kissing Mason again. Rhiannon goes to the bathroom. Amber and Mason are both shocked that Rhiannon is here.
AMBER: I thought you said things weren't very serious with Rhiannon
MASON: No it's not, not for me.
AMBER: Ah, yeah, single mum leaving her kid in Queensland to come and visit you doesn't sound like it's very casual for her.
MASON: I thought I'd broken it off, now I'm going to have to do it all over again.
AMBER: Yeah, maybe the letting her down gently approach doesn't work for her.
Amber says that Kate left a message earlier that he'd left his jacket behind last night. Mason says he left it at the bar. Rhiannon walks in and wonders who Kate is, they cover by saying she's Amber's tutor.
Kyle tells Chris that he went around to see Georgia at the hospital but she wasn't working there, she must have just used it as an excuse. Amber greets them and asks if they know of any school holiday jobs. Kyle goes to put up more flyers about the spare room. Chris asks if Amber is sure she wants to work during school holidays. Amber doesn't have mates or a boyfriend here, so she's got too much time on her hands. Chris suggests she works at the second hand shop across from the garage. Amber thanks him.
Georgia apologises for missing last night, she assures him it wasn't because of him, it was because of work, and rushes off as soon as Chris enters. Chris tells Kyle that he thinks that Georgia's avoiding him.
Pete looks at the room for rent notice for Number 26, and asks if Sheila about it. She suggests he speak to Chris or Kyle if he's interested.
Mason wonders if Rhiannon has bought a return bus ticket. When she suggests they go back to Mount Isa together, Mason says he's settled here and he can't up and leave. Rhiannon suggests they go to her motel room just as Kate enters. Rhiannon introduces herself as Mason's girlfriend, and says she's been thinking about getting a tutor for her 8 year old son. Kate passes Mason his jacket and rushes off. Mason tells Rhiannon he has to give Kate a message from Amber and rushes off after her.
Mason catches up with Kate, saying it's not what she thinks. Rhiannon is not his girlfriend and things were never serious between them. Kate thinks Mason should tell Rhiannon that. Kate wonders if Mason has a thing for older women, given that Rhiannon is 25 with an 8 year old kid. She wonders if Kate is just a novelty for him, but he assures her she's not.
MASON: Come on, I thought we had fun last night.
KATE: Yes so did I, but now I know what is important to you, that's the last time we're ever going to have fun.
Chris asks Georgia if he can talk to her about his PTSD, and wants to talk to her rather than a counsellor. Georgia says she can't as she's swamped with work. Chris calls her out on it, saying she is avoiding him, she can't talk to him or even look at him. She says she's trying to get her head around what happened with Scotty, and every time she looks at Chris she thinks about the two of them together. Chris says nothing happened and she can't blame him for Scotty's behaviour.
GEORGIA: I know, it's not fair but I can't help it. All of my memories of him have taken on another meaning.
CHRIS: Your world has been turned upside down, I get that. But the way you're avoiding me, it makes me feel like I made this happen and you know I didn't.
GEORGIA: It's just easier this way
CHRIS: Easier for you. You've got to stop pushing me away. I want to help you through this.
GEORGIA: You can't. I'm sorry, I just need more time.
Rhiannon says hi to Amber, asking how the job hunt is going. Amber asks if she's seen anyone that she knows recently, like Robbo.
RHIANNON: The idiot tried to crack on to me, again. He's such a tart. He'll crack onto anything with a pulse. I said to him, mate, even if I was into dating sleazy creeps, I‘m already taken. Hey, it's okay nothing happened between us, I swear. I'm really into your brother, there's no way I'd do anything to hurt him.
RHIANNON: Even If I was single, there's no way I'd go for Robbo. Not in a million years, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. God help me if I'm ever that desperate.
Amber is upset and leaves, while Rhiannon is oblivious.
Chris finds Amber crying on the bridge and sits down beside her.
CHRIS: I'm guessing this isn't about the job hunt
AMBER: Yeah, I don't think there are any jobs out there for morons.
CHRIS: I got one.
Amber tells Chris that she thought her boyfriend cared about her, but it turns out she's just one in a long list. She wonders what kind of idiot that makes her. Chris says it makes her human. Things will get better, it just takes time. Amber tosses the necklace that Robbo got her into the lake.
CHRIS: I wonder how much jewellery's at the bottom of this lake.
Kate asks Georgia if Chris reminds her of Scotty. Georgia feels awful about it but it's just too hard. Kate tells Georgia that Mason's girlfriend showed up today. Kate suggests that she and Georgia go on out there, live their lives and have some fun. Georgia has been with Scotty since she was 15, she has no idea how to date. Kate tells her its time she learned, it could actually help.
Mason returns home and checks that it's empty. Rhiannon hopes Amber is okay, she didn't mean to upset her and doesn't even know what she said. Mason asks when Robbo was back in Mount Isa, she says a few days ago. Rhiannon wonders why Mason hasn't ‘jumped her bones' yet. Mason doesn't think it's a good idea. She asks if there's someone else, like Kate. Mason says there's definitely no one else. He says he doesn't want to start something up with Rhiannon if it just has to end again, it wouldn't be fair to her or Jackson. He tells her that he's not coming back to Mount Isa, he lives here now. Rhiannon wonders what that means for them, Mason says it wouldn't work long distance. Rhiannon starts crying.
Chris tells Kyle that Georgia admitted she's been avoiding him.
CHRIS: While that may be music to your ears, it sucks for me.
Kyle says that Georgia will come around. Pete thanks them for coming by and tells them that he'd be stoked to move in, he'll never be late for rent, he can cook and clean and will soon be able to make margaritas. Chris wonders what would happen if they don't like his taste in music, but Pete says he has headphones. That's good enough for them and they ask him when he can move in, Pete says he can move in straight away. He asks if they could let him know how to get in with the girl that lives on the street, Georgia. Pete leaves to serve customers.
CHRIS: Finally, got that sorted.
KYLE: He's not moving in.
CHRIS: Oh come on, because of that?
KYLE: He's obviously into Georgia. Why would I help the competition?
CHRIS: I think you're missing the bigger picture here. We needed somebody, like yesterday, and he sounds perfect, he's a nice guy, he cooks, he cleans.
KYLE: And you'll get to see him in his jocks.
CHRIS: Yes, but that's not a factor.
KYLE: I can't live with him. Sorry.
CHRIS: Well we can't afford to keep paying the extra rent. And there is a reason no one else has applied. Come on, who would want to live with your Gran? He's our only option.
KYLE: Nah. Can't do it. We'll find someone.
Pete meets Georgia at the counter and asks her about her day. He invites her for a drink after his shift at Charlie's. She knocks him back at first but then changes her mind and agrees.
Mason's taking the bin in when Kate walks past, ignoring him. Mason stops her and wants to explain. Things were over between him and Rhiannon before he arrived and he's sent her back to Mount Isa. He also doesn't think it's a bad thing that he likes older women.
KATE: Are you seriously about to list perks for me, because I'm not interested in hearing it
MASON: No, that's not the point. That's not the reason I like you. Even if it is kind of a bonus.
He assures Kate that she won't see Rhiannon again, she's on the bus back to Mount Isa and he asks Kate to start again. Kate's about to agree when Rhiannon comes running up to them excited, telling them that she's solved their problems. She's going to move onto Ramsay Street, living with Kyle and Chris. She hugs Mason, who looks horrified at Kate. Kate walks off.
Georgia and Pete are having their date, he tells her that he didn't get the place on Ramsay Street. She suggests they don't talk about it as she'd rather be here with him. Just then she places a kiss on Pete, who's shocked by it.
GEORGIA: What's wrong, I thought that you liked me? You invited me here for a drink
PETE: Yeah I was just a bit surprised
GEORGIA: Are you not attracted to me?
PETE: No, no no no no, I mean I like...
GEORGIA: Don't tell me you're gay
GEORGIA: You can't just lead me on and back out...
Georgia storms off, then stops, taking a deep breath, looking mortified by what she's done
