Lassiters Complex
Vanessa is back at work, they couldn't find anyone to cover her shift. Toadie asks her how Patrick is, she says he's still defying the odds. She sees a barbie doll that Toadie has bought for Nell, and thinks it is so cute, beaming happily about it. Toadie feels awkward and leaves quickly, leaving Vanessa confused.

Number 30
Toadie tells Sonya that he felt bad that Vanessa saw the toy for Nell when Patrick might never get out of hospital. Sonya says they can't stop being excited about Nelly, but they have to respect what they're going through. Toadie gives Sonya a quick cuddle when there is a knock at the door. Sonya answers the door and Toadie's mum Angie rushes in, almost lifting Sonya off the ground as she hugs her. Angie greets Toadie and gives him a hug.

ANGIE: Look at you, I could put my arms around you twice.

Angie asks Toadie to get her bags for her. Toadie is surprised she's here but she says she was invited for Nell's naming day. Sonya says they cancelled the naming day weeks ago, but apparently Stonie didn't pass on the message.

Number 28
Sarah arrives and tells Karl that she just had a run in with Susan. Susan was offered a job at the Star, but she believes that Sarah pulled strings to get it for her and now she won't accept the offer. Sarah says the way Susan spoke to her suggests it isn't just about the job offer, Susan's determined to see her as the enemy and now she's going to pass up this opportunity just to stick it to her. Karl tells Sarah to leave it with him, he'll sort it out.

Number 30
Angie is holding baby Nell who is crying loudly, while a worried Sonya tries to get Angie to hold Nell properly. Angie says it isn't the first baby Rebecchi she's handled. Angie wants them to have the naming day anyway, she's sure Lucas and Vanessa won't hold it against them. Toadie kisses them goodbye as he has to rush off to work, just as Georgia arrives, welcoming her auntie Angie. Angie takes Nell and goes off to chat with Georgia, while Sonya just looks agitated.

Erinsborough News
Karl visits Susan and insists Sarah didn't have anything to do with the job offer. He realises it is hard for her having Sarah here, it's uncomfortable for him as well.

SUSAN: So uncomfortable you've been sneaking around having secret lunches?

Susan tells him he doesn't have to sneak around anymore. He should tell Sarah to stay away from her and to mind her own business.

Number 30
Angie is telling Sonya stories about other babies while Sonya looks far from relaxed. Georgia says she's off to work, Sonya quietly mouths to Georgia begging her not to go, Georgia mouths sorry and leaves. As Angie carries on with her stories, the phone goes off and Sonya leaps to answer it. It's her work, apparently there's been a mix up with an order and she's got to go in. She's about to take Nell but Angie tells her not to take Nell, she can watch her.

ANGIE: You don't trust me to look after my own grandchild?
SONYA: No, I do, I do, of course I do.

Sonya tells Angie if Nell gets hungry there is some express milk in the fridge. A nervous Sonya reluctantly leaves.

Lassiters Lake
Susan walks along the bridge towards the rotunda and bumps into Paul.

PAUL: Out for some peace and quiet are you?
SUSAN: Well I was.
PAUL: Me too. Well I can't think straight what with all that crying and carry on.
SUSAN: It's not funny Paul, people are being made redundant.
PAUL: So am I. I know it's not the same thing Susan. Gallows humour, look it up.
SUSAN: Do you know I'll miss our workplace banter.

Paul asks if she's heard from the West Warratah Star. He had lunch with Bob earlier and recommended her for a job as a Consultant. Susan is shocked. Paul says she might be a nightmare to work with, but she's a damn good journalist. She should think of it as his farewell present.

Number 32
Matt and Lauren are looking for houses online and struggling to find anything in their price range. Lauren is worried about what they'll do if their house in Mount Isa doesn't sell and thinks she might have to start looking for some work.

Lucas arrives home to collect some things and apologises for interrupting. Lauren passes on Mason's rattle to Lucas, Matt gave it to him on the day it was born. He should think of it as a good luck thing. Lucas thanks Lauren. Lauren tells him she's looking for work, Lucas tells her there are some jobs going at Harold's. Lauren likes the idea, she used to work there when it was Daphne's. Lucas will be happy to put in a good word for her with Vanessa.

Charlie's
Sarah and Karl bump into each other at Charlie's. He tells her that he spoke to Susan. Sarah thanks him and asks him to join her. He doesn't think he should, it's probably for the best they don't see each other. He wants to try things again with Susan and he can't give up on her. Sarah wishes him the best.

Number 30
Sonya returns home to a quiet house, Angie says Nell is sleeping quietly. Sonya realises that Angie gave Nell formula milk instead the milk from the fridge. Angie couldn't find the milk in the fridge. Sonya is angry as they're trying to keep Nell on natural milk for as long as possible. Angie says she should have made herself clearer before dropping Nell on someone. Sonya is about to argue but then stops herself. She thanks Angie and says she'll bear that in mind. Angie smiles self- assuredly.

Erinsborough News
Susan apologises to Sarah for jumping to the wrong conclusion. Sarah insists she doesn't have an agenda here, she's not sneaking around with Karl. Sarah and Karl won't be seeing each other anymore. Susan says they can do what they like, she's not Karl's wife anymore. Susan gets a phonecall from Bob at the West Warratah Star. Susan thanks Bob for the offer but she won't be taking the job.

Harold's
Angie and Susan are catching up, while Vanessa and Lauren enter. Lauren thanks Vanessa for putting in a good word with Lyn for her, mentioning the rattle which she gave to Lucas. Vanessa is surprised as Lucas didn't tell her, but she thanks Lauren anyway. Angie introduces herself to Vanessa and tells her she came down for Nell's naming day only to learn it had been postponed because of Patrick. Vanessa is shocked.

Erinsborough Hospital
Vanessa tells Lucas that Lauren is now on the roster at Harold's, and asks if Lauren had given him something today. Lucas remembers about the rattle and passes it on to her. Vanessa wonders how he could forget something like that. She says people are treating her differently, such as when Toadie bolted earlier after she saw the present he had gotten Nell, and how they cancelled the naming day because of them. Lucas knew about it, he says they're just trying to not parade their healthy baby in front of them, they don't know how to act. Vanessa wishes they would just ask her. Vanessa grabs her bag and leaves.

Charlie's
Paul bumps into Matt. Matt has heard that Rani has completed day one of her duties at Lassiters. Paul thinks she got off lightly, it's a good thing he's an old softie. Paul walks around Matt and approaches Karl.

PAUL: Karl. A wife and a mistress in town and here you are all by yourself. You've been out of the game too long old son.
KARL: Unlike you I don't revel in my past indiscretions.
PAUL: Yeah and unlike you, I don't pretend to be a saint.

Karl asks why Paul didn't just let Sarah work at the West Warratah Star. Paul says it was up to Globewise Communications, but her being placed at Erinsborough News made the best sense. Karl tells Paul this is causing a lot of stress, and he should just close the Erinsborough News and get Sarah out of there. Paul says he tried to look after Susan in all this, telling him he organised Susan's job offer at the Star, but Susan didn't take it.

Erinsborough News
Karl asks Susan how she could give up a job offer like that. Susan says she knows Sarah had nothing to do with it but she is ready for something new.

KARL: Three weeks ago, we almost kissed.
SUSAN: Yes and we agreed that that was a misunderstanding.
KARL: I agreed at the time but I was not being honest. It did mean something to me. Susan, I love you. I have never stopped loving you, you must know that.
SUSAN: I've told you that is not what I want.
KARL: Can you honestly tell me that there is nothing there. Because I may be going out on the limb here, but for you to get that angry with Sarah, it must be coming from some deep emotional place.
SUSAN: I made a mistake with Sarah, that's all.
KARL: But for the past to have such an impact on today.
SUSAN: Karl, we're done. That doesn't change whether Sarah is here or not. Now, we can be friends or nothing. That's it.

Karl leaves.

Number 30
Angie apologises for blurting out the truth to Vanessa, she didn't realise Lucas hadn't told her. Sonya says she didn't want Vanessa to think she's being a burden. Vanessa arrives. Toadie and Sonya apologise, they didn't want to upset her.

VANESSA: Come on guys, you've got to stop assuming what is best for me. I'm not going to break every time you mention Nell and I have no problem with you holding the naming day tomorrow.
ANGIE: See, I told you.

Toadie says that this week is inconvenient as he has to work, they can have the naming ceremony in a few weeks but that's not good for Angie as Big Kev has his operation then. Vanessa and Angie encourage them to have it tomorrow anyway, Angie proclaims the naming day is back on. Vanessa smiles happily, telling them that she'll see them in the morning, and leaves. Sonya and Toadie don't look chuffed, and as Vanessa closes the door behind her, she sighs heavily.

Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Toadie and Sonya ask Lucas if he has any photos of Patrick, but he says he's just wiped the memory card on his camera.
- Kyle tells Sheila he's not interested in Georgia.
- Sarah gives Susan a plant.
- Toadie gives a speech for Nell's naming day.
