This week on Neighbours
- #30 receiving a visitor.
- Sonya being stressed out!
- Chris trying to overcome his fears and running into trouble.
- Kyle/Georgia having a moment.
- Susan smashing Sarah's peace offering!
Previously on Neighbours
- Karl asking Sarah to keep quiet.
- Paul installing Sarah in Susan's office.
- Matt telling Ajay that Rani is suspected of causing damage to Lassiters.
- Ajay/Priya arguing over Rani.
- Ajay going off with someone.
Susan consoles one of her former employees that has been laid off before the silent extra leaves. Karl spots her and tries to reassure her that she will get a job at the Star unlike the silent extra.
Rani gives her mum the silent treatment and both are surprised to see Ajay walk in the front door, confirming that he stayed out all night drinking and lost track of time. Priya plays down the significant of Ajay being out all night as Rani tries to use it to deflect it from her forthcoming punishment.
Sarah delivers the news that Susan hasn't got a job at the Star and hands over her redundancy package. Paul tries to talk to her about it but Susan isn't in the mood and is concentrating on their last edition, which she runs past Paul. He rejects her suggestion on cost grounds and Sarah volunteers to step in and save the day but Susan rejects that offer!
PAUL: Nice work, now no- one wins.
SUSAN: Shut up Paul!
When Ajay comes out from getting changed, Priya reminds him that they need to discuss Rani's punishment. She thinks she has a winner – repaying the costs in instalments from her nursery wages. He's up for that suggestion but Priya isn't and dishes out her own punishment (after consulting Paul) – spending 2 days cleaning Lassiters for Paul. Ajay reluctantly backs his wife up (and she gets a dig in about them not being able to discuss it in advance as he didn't come home) and Rani stomps off to her room unimpressed at her punishment.
Priya asks Ajay if she's allowed to know where he was last night and he firmly replies back “no”.
Bailey and Callum do the intros with each other as they realise that both are entering the same photo competition at the paper. Rani arrives on route to her punishment and chats to them briefly although Callum warns him that the Rani they just saw isn't the usual version… and for Bailey to keep his paws off of her too! “Okay, I get it,” Bailey replies and Callum suggests he check out Sophie instead!
Sarah reminisces about ordering Karl's lunch in days gone by when she runs into him in the store. She unloads about the horrid job she has at the paper and they agree to have lunch together down by the lake.
Sarah is enjoying the trip down memory lane as they walk to the rotunda. She quizzes him about why he's kept quiet about what they got up to when Susan knows all about the child he had with Izzy? “It came up in counselling,” he replies but feels that it's best kept in the past.
Callum is continuing to show Bailey the sights of Erinsborough and they've now reached the lake. He then notices one of the pics he's taken (of Karl/Sarah) and says that is bad news!
Sarah reminds Susan about the reference she got from Karl in 2003 and wonders if he knew she swapped it with one that was offensive?
SUSAN: Really? I thought it was very truthful.
Sarah offers to help Susan (find a new job) but the only help Susan wants is getting her redundancy package corrected, her holiday loading wasn't included.
Paul tries to get a thanks out of Priya for what he did to get Rani off the hook with the police but she's not offering one, so he then suggests he gets a *personal thanks* from her, which she immediately knocks back. He then delightfully informs her that while she think herself/Ajay are repairing her marriage, her husband left Charlie's with a woman last night! The silence from Priya tells it all but she quickly recovers her composure to tell Paul to butt out of her marriage.
PAUL: You know you don't have to stay with him. I mean there are other options.
As he said that final bit, he then makes an advance at Priya but she quickly backs away and warns him off before quickly exiting the store.
Priya immediately confronts Ajay over what Paul told her as soon a she walks in the door, ignoring him telling her about checking up on Rani. “I don't have to explain anything anymore,” he replies back.
PRIYA: I hope it was worth it.
AJAY: You're amazing! You're going to stand there and judge me after what you did!!
PRIYA: Ajay I know I made a mistake but I'd never go out of my way to deliberately hurt you, not like this. This is a whole new level of cruelty.
AJAY: Cruelty?! You want to talk about cruelty with me! Let's start with your choice of a cheating partner.
Ajay continues his rant on how he thought they both despised Paul and especially given he's their next door neighbour he's reminded of what happened every time he leaves the house. Priya response is that can't keep on apologising!
AJAY: There aren't enough times to make a difference.
Callum fills Bailey in the details of Karl/Sarah/Susan and warns him about never crossing Susan… she's an ex- Principal who still has it! Just at that, Susan comes into the store and wants an intro with the newbie… which doesn't get off to a good start when he calls her Sarah! “Or should I call you Mrs Kennedy?” he tries quickly sucking up to her!
She replies that Susan is fine then asks to see what is on their cameras (for the competition) and Callum tries to pull his camera back from her grasp. Bailey tries to help by saying that he thinks his photos are rubbish but that isn't stopping Susan, so she takes the camera and starts to look through the pics. She immediately spots a certain photo and Callum tries to explain that they were simply having lunch but Susan doesn't really comment about it, just photography in general, before making her way to the counter but you can see on her face that she's bothered about the photo.
Bailey distracts Rani from her litter duties by taking photos of her for the competition. He apologies for his dad's involvement in her punishment but their friendly chat suddenly takes a nosedive when he innocently mentions about people having affairs (after his chat with Callum) thus making his parents look boring. She tells him he should keep his mouth shut before stomping off.
Priya is filling in her journal when Ajay returns home – it's something her counsellor suggested. She asks him if he plans to keep seeing the lassie he went off with, he isn't sure, so she adds in that she will be doing everything to save their marriage. The chat is curtailed when Ajay leaves to go pick Rani up after she sent him a text.
Bailey apologises for upsetting Rani when he spots her in the store and says she should tell him to shut up in future… or punch him like his sister does! That gets a smile from her and she explains that she's just going through stuff just now and he distracts her by showing what he thinks will be his competition entry – a photo of her sitting thinking. “I hope you win,” she tells him.
Susan is playing things very cool with Sarah when she returns from lunch. She then receives a call from Bob at the Start offering her a job… someone has recommended her! No second guess who that was especially given the death stare Susan then dishes out towards Sarah!
Final break later and Susan confronts Sarah over the call from Bob. She is either playing along well or knows nothing about it as she has a bemused look on her face much to Susan's annoyance.
SUSAN: Don't take me for a fool! Before, when I came into the office, you were on the phone to him. You were pulling strings to get me a job.
SARAH: Did Bob tell you that?
SUSAN: He didn't have to. This is your way of manipulating me.
SUSAN: Oh Sarah just drop the act! All that ‘I just want to come into town and not cause any trouble'.
SARAH: It's the truth.
SUSAN: Rubbish! You knew when you arrived you wouldn't be able to avoid me.
SARAH: I wanted to, I swear.
SUSAN: Switching hotels, sneaking around with Karl, you're loving every minute of this.
SARAH: No, you've got it so wrong.
SUSAN: No, no, I don't think so. I will perform my duties for the next two weeks but I will not put up with you interfering in my life. Do you understand?!!
All Sarah can do is to nod before retreating into her office as if she's just been ticked off by the Principal!
