Previously on Neighbours
- Paul buys the Kapoors champagne and Ajay wonders why; Paul and Priya almost kiss
- Susan has taken up pole- dancing classes
- Summer expertly humiliates herself by grassing up Bradley to Susan before talking to him first
Charlie's
Summer watches Bradley playing pool; she's still looking sheepish. Tash arrives for work; Summer fills her in on the story so far regarding Bradley giving her article idea to Howard to write up, and Summer telling Susan that Bradley had been paraphrasing his quotes. Tash suggests Summer could apologise, but she says she's already tried; and Summer leaves, passing Susan on the way in.
Susan speaks to Bradley about Summer; he tells her they've sorted things out, and that he understands the situation from Summer's point of view. Susan admits Summer still has much to learn. She asks Bradley if he wouldn't mind being on call, as she has to get to a class she's started (she doesn't mention which one). He tells her to enjoy it.
Lassiter's Complex
Rani asks Priya if she can go to the movies this afternoon. Priya asks who with. Rani gets as far as name-dropping Callum, Tilly and Sasha - but Priya correctly guesses that Harley will be there as well. She gives Rani permission but says she must come back straight after the film for dinner.
Paul turns up, and offers Priya a coffee. She tells him she wants them to keep their distance, but Paul wants to discuss the prospect of Lassiter's joining the VET programme to offer hospitality training to the students. Priya is sceptical as Paul opposed the programme, and reminds him that the school can't afford to extend the classes. Paul says Lassiter's is prepared to pay for the scheme, however.
PRIYA: Why would you do that?
PAUL: Because it makes my business look good. And of course I can write it off against tax.
PRIYA: I'm not interested.
PAUL: No, but your students might be. And do you think it's really fair to deny them the opportunity? There might be a budding Paul Robinson amongst them.
PRIYA: God help us.
Priya reluctantly agrees to take a tour of Lassiter's to see what the hotel has to offer, for the school's sake, and says she'll meet him in half an hour.
Harold's
Susan comes in and finds Summer working on her laptop. She asks if Bradley was right about them having sorted out their argument; Summer says Bradley would have preferred her to talk to him first, but Susan says Summer can always come to her, and that she's sure Bradley won't hold a grudge.
On her way out, Susan runs into Lou. He's keen for her to stay for a chinwag, but Susan tells him she has to get to a class at the community centre, again not revealing which particular one. Lou offers to walk with her, but Susan is saved by Vanessa, who calls Lou on his mobile, asking him to do some shopping for her. Susan takes her opportunity to make a quick escape.
Lassiter's Complex
Paul meets Priya in preparation for the hotel tour, but to avoid being left alone with Paul she's invited Lucas, Sonya and Kate along for the ride (on the grounds that Lucas and Sonya are teachers on the VET programme and that Kate is a massive fan). Paul looks annoyed when the others show up, but the tour goes ahead.
Lassiter's (Reception)
Paul gives everyone the guided tour and leads them back to reception. Priya asks why Lassiter's is the best choice for the school in terms of hospitality training, and Paul replies with a string of barely-veiled innuendoes about how he can satisfy his guests' every desire. Paul offers to show the group the rooms, but the others all leave (either through choice or persuasion) - so that Priya's left in the position of having to go into the hotel room alone with Paul. She looks nervous as they go up in the elevator.
Community Centre
Susan arrives for the pole-dancing class and changes into her heels. The class tutor Evie leads the group through various warm-up exercises, after which she asks for a volunteer to remind everyone of what they learned last time on the poles. Susan eventually volunteers, and begins her best pole-dancing routine, just as Bradley appears at the doorway and sees her!
Lassiter's (Hotel Room)
Paul shows Priya all the mod cons of the hotel room like he's doing a Marks & Spencer ad voiceover, culminating in the 'lovely, firm, double-sprung mattresses' - while Priya looks increasingly uncomfortable at being there with him. He suggests they order room service, just to show her how it works.
PRIYA: I know what you're doing.
PAUL: Yeah? And yet you're still here.
PRIYA: I agreed to the tour for the school.
PAUL: But you could have left with the others.
PRIYA: When I commit to something, I see it through. That's all.
PAUL: So do I.
PRIYA: I have a husband.
PAUL: We both know we've been dancing around for the last few weeks.
PRIYA: It's not going to happen.
PAUL: Ah, but I think it will. You see, you like the way you feel around me, don't you? Hmm? You don't want it to stop. When was the last time you felt that way.
He moves close to her, but Priya says she can't - she's not that kind of woman - and prepares to leave, saying she won't change her mind. Paul replies that she will - and that he'll be waiting. Priya marches out, looking worried.
Community Centre (outside)
Susan has finished her class, and runs into Bradley. He apologises for turning up in the middle of the class before, but it's all a bit awkward. Bradley tells Susan there's nothing wrong with her doing pole-dancing; she says she knows, but that it's personal, and she wants to keep it that way. Bradley tells her that the reason he turned up was that he's writing a story on pole-dancing, which is apparently becoming a bit of a craze as a means of getting fit. He says lots of women are doing it, and that she shouldn't be embarrassed. He offers to pitch the story to her over a drink, and she agrees.
Charlie's
Susan and Bradley get drinks and a table, as they continue to talk about the pole-dancing. She admits that the class is a lot of fun and great exercise. Bradley convinces her to let him do the article, on the condition that no names are mentioned.
Later on, Priya turns up for a dinner she's arranged with the family. At the bar, Susan comments that the food at Charlie's has much improved since Paul took over. Priya asks Susan to join them for dinner, but she tells her she's got company, pointing to Bradley. At first Priya thinks he's Susan's date, but she explains he's the new deputy editor. Priya says he's a good-looking man and asks if Susan's looking for anything more. Susan says he's just a colleague, but maybe if she was twenty years younger - while Priya's busy eyeing up Paul, who's behind the bar. Susan returns to Bradley, and Paul ogles Priya as he leaves the bar.
Later still, Susan and Bradley are still drinking when Summer comes in. She apologises to Bradley for how she behaved earlier, and admits she should have come to him before speaking to Susan. Bradley accepts her apology, on one condition: that they only discuss any future problems during work hours! Summer happily agrees and apologises again, but he tells her to stop saying sorry. Summer asks what Susan's been up to, and she says she's been doing a dance class at the community centre (without saying which). Bradley jokes that he's thinking of signing up for it, but Susan says he wouldn't be able to keep up. Summer looks mildly uncomfortable as Susan and Bradley joke with one another, and makes an excuse to leave.
No 28
Summer returns with takeaway from Charlie's, and tells Tash how she ran into Susan and Bradley and sorted everything out. Summer mentions how weird it was to see Susan and Bradley drinking together, and how it was as if they had a private conversation going on. She asks Tash if she thinks Bradley could have a thing for Susan, but Tash just teases Summer for going on about Bradley again. Summer denies being obsessed with him, but Tash insists she talks about him constantly - and that the idea he'd have a thing for Susan is ridiculous. Summer denies she has a thing for Bradley herself, but Tash doesn't believe her.
Charlie's
Ajay and Rani turn up late for the dinner with Priya. Ajay asks how things are going with Rani and Harley, but she doesn't want to talk about it. He asks if they're boyfriend and girlfriend, but Rani just tells him he's embarrassing, and he agrees to shut up. Priya says Rani will tell them about it when she's ready, and goes to get some drinks. But while she's at the bar she finds a hotel keycard in her bag.
Lassiter's (Hotel Room)/Charlie's
Paul has ordered room service for one, which is just being delivered when Priya calls him on his mobile. She demands to know what he's playing at, putting the keycard in her bag. He tells her it's for the room they were in earlier, and that all she has to do is use it. She tells him to stay away from him; nothing will ever happen between them. Unperturbed, Paul tells her he'll be in the room for one hour, which should give her enough time to get away from what she's doing! Priya hangs up.
Charlie's
After dinner, Rani has gone out to talk to Harley on the phone. Ajay admits he finds it weird how Rani is growing up, and Priya listens along, smiling. When Ajay orders dessert, however, he incurs her wrath by not asking her before ordering her usual, strawberry cheesecake, on her behalf. A loaded altercation begins.
PRIYA: I didn't say what I wanted.
AJAY: You always order strawberry cheesecake.
PRIYA: I felt like something different tonight.
AJAY: I'm sorry babe. It's just I know you love it, that's all.
PRIYA: Doesn't mean I can't try something new.
AJAY: Yeah, no worries, I'll change the order if you want.
PRIYA: It's fine, it's fine.
AJAY: You see, strawberry cheesecake! This long together; I know what you want!
Lassiter's (Hotel Room)
Paul smugly pours two glasses of champagne, and checks his watch.
Charlie's
Ajay and Priya's conversation continues, Priya looking increasingly bored and uncomfortable. She tells Ajay she's going to the bathroom, and he asks her to order him another coffee on her way. Priya stands at the bar, glancing at the exit, unsure of what to do next.
